When i mix i just work on the eq sometimes compression had feedback saying my music sound like i went to a booth definitely woke me up with this one 💯💪🏼
@@SKYJORDXN also when i work on my adlibs i use eq and echo not auto tune because im using airpods pro and iphone app called rap fame that i paid for but i seen your vids made me want to upgrade just waiting for equipment to come in💪🏼🫡💯 imagine if people like it while im using low quality items then when i upgrade to better im on your level speaking humbly but like you said need a quiet environment thats the most important or your vocals going to sound different
@skyjordan since watching your videos my music, vocals and delivery have gotten way better, and ppl tell me ive 100% improved on everything thank you so much appreciate you making these vids much love bro much love
I keep it simple nowadays, neumann tlm103 going into outboard uad 610 preamp going into 76 compressor and when it hits the daw, i keep it at low buffer in low latency monitoring with just autotune, oxide or studer tape and reverb (autotune vocal reverb) during tracking, get a good clean recording and then just clean it up, remove bad stuff out of the signal during mix and add mojo with distortion aux tracks, the more I record every day the more I keep finding that less sometimes is more, great vid bro, the eq processing is something I didnt know worked this way for 2 different eqs on chain 😂
Sky, thank you for making this video. I remember asking you something pertaining to this topic a while back. Question though, after tracking it with the channel strip, do you bounce the vocals through the strip, using that as the overall tune of The Vocal before mixing? Previously, I would always bypass all of my processing if I had to send it to another engineer, or even if I was mixing for myself. Thank you for these videos, it’s really helps when the advice comes from an actively practising engineer.
I wonder why u gotta put the tuning first and not go ‘cleanup’ the vical a bit with ns1/rvox and a eq? Also compressed vocals into tune is a strong no or what?
why would you want to mix anything that’s not tuned? Tuning is only putting the vocals in the correct key first. Do you add chocolate chips to the cookies after you baked them ?
Algorithm games but I’m trying figure out how to tap in with the audience shifts etc. the views a come at some point. Just tryna help the people who watch
I don’t think I’ve ever heard anybody communicate these practices this effectively

good feedback is always a sign that you're doing something people like and what you like doing is being accepted

you usually want any tuning on the completely raw vocal signal so eqs and comps wont mess it up and so they arent working with untuned vocal
Tapped in !
