16:29 When you toss away the germinating root of that coconut my childhood self yelled "That's the best part of the old coconut, Rod! You don't throw it away, you eat it!"
I came here to comment the same thing 🤣
I freaked out when he chucked it, whenever you find a sprouting coconut. That is natures candy (apart from honey)
But. Yes. Don’t throw it away. Eat it! Then go get more and eat that because you will love it so much
Im bummed I chucked it now😄 next time i'm looking for one to try for sure!
Live and learn mate, I'm dying to try one like that. Brilliant vid once again. What an awesome spot
Yes the outer yellowish part should be a tad bit salty, but the white foam like textrure inside it is the sweet part.
Noooo! You threw the best part away. That “baby coconut “ isn’t a baby coconut. That is an amazingly tasty edible part of a sprouting coconut. They have a crunchy watery texture with a slight sweetness. They are eaten in coconut-growing countries and they are very good! I’ve had hundreds and go looking for them when I am on the islands. They’re awesome and healthy too!
i was never a seafood eater, but after watching you for years and looking at the way you make your beautiful gordon ramsay style meals i have decided to finally try it and couldn’t believe what i was missing out on so cheers to you mate 💪🤘
Boy those coral trout are gorgeous fish.
I love this channel. Who watches TV when you can watch content like this. Brilliant, simply brilliant.
Exactly. Been a fan for several years.
Way better than discovery channel or animal planet
Camping videos are the best adventures
Setting up a trail camera to see what animals are about would be super interesting Rod 😊
Absolutely loved this bro, seriously miss the freedom these kinds of trips bring. Thanks for always providing a way to live vicariously through you :D
Haha, cheers Sam, I’m actually living vicariously through you😁 let me know if you’re keen to do a trip anytime mate🤙
That has got to be one of the best looking meals you’ve cooked in a while! Fantastic!
My day just got so much better!!!
Same here !
I love these island camping trips. Especially the exploring part!
*Much respect for not putting the RUclips obligatory clickbait "Catch And Cook" in the title like every channel does.* No cheesy thumbnail either...just pure cinematic magnificence with honest narration. Rod is a likeable guy...I hate when he puts catch n cook in the title to get views. He can get them without the tricks. If I could give 100 likes I would
Are people putting catch and cook in the title and then not actually catching or cooking?
@@michaelhall5429 Yeah they catch and yeah they do cook. People love it. Thats why they all put it in the title to catch views.Damn its obvious Rod is gonna catch and yeah he is gonna cook too. I just think its obvious. Its a clickbait thing ...not a big deal. I just like it when Rod decided to not put it in...he doesn't have to at this point...and I love that. The man doesn't have to resort to tricks...his subs and others will click despite it. He will have 1 million subs shortly regardless if he puts Catch And Cook in the title lol
Apparently I don't need to read the title to watch Rod's content. I saw notifications and just clicked. Like muscle memory function.
@@kluangh1tam Puong dim tung dong!
The cook is my least favourite part 😂 I like the hunt then I stop watching after he gets a fish
Just like the good old days Rod. Thanks for sharing.
Enjoying a Saturday morning here in Florida, USA. Sipping coffee from my Rokkit Kit mug and watching my favorite thing you do ...solo island tent camping. Cheers Rod! Thanks for the content.
Hope you enjoy it mate🤙
Love your multi day, catch, cook, and camp videos, keep them coming.
God bless you Rod, beautiful view while eating. Always love watching you cook and fishing. Best channel ever
Another awesome adventure. I think the only lesson you haven't learned for improving the process is that food straight off the stove is hot!
Some lessons will never be learned 😁
What an amazing life you've carved out for yourself. Inspiring.
Sitting in California wishing I was there! OMG ... that meal was absolutely heaven! ❤
THIS is the video I’ve been hanging for! Love it and please more island camping trips…10/10 👌🏽👌🏽👌🏽
That boat is so nice. omg.
Beautiful little setup those little backpack bedrolls are super comfy I miss sleeping in my setup like that
That fish came up a treat Rod. 😊Hope you don't get too bitten.
Haha, the mosquitos at the island were nothing compared to the sand flies at the boat ramp 😅
I can not believe that you threw away one of the tastiest treats Mother Nature has ever made.
I literally screamed at the T.V
You need to bring a machete Rod. You threw away the heart or sprout of the coconut. It tastes really good. Nice place for an all around journey. Thanks for sharing 👍💖
one of only a few very few actually good humans on you tube ty Sir
Another classic RokkitKit catch and cook solo camping mission!! These have to be my favourite kind of your videos
I didn't see him camping he set a tent up got a fish cooked it then the video was over did I miss something
@@jamesthomas662 "Part 2, part 2!"
@@jamesthomas662 shut up you mug. That is camping, catching a fish and cooking it. Back in your sad little box
What an incredible location for a family vacation.
Great idea! Rod, bring your family on one of these trips. They're getting too easy for you! Your kids will spice it back up 😂
You are a beacon of light Mate! That thought came into my head when I clicked on your video! Thank you Rod, we've all loved your adventures!
I'm like feeling very hungry, wish had someone serving that up to me, just once 😊
I lost my absolute mind when you put shoes on lmao. Biggest plot twist ever.
Always keep em guessing 😂
Brilliant video loved it keep them coming!!!!!🏴🏴🏴
Nothing better than relaxing after a knee reconstruction watching rod thank you mate
That crisco isn't any better unfortunately Rod, stick to olive, coconut and the good stuff - butter, tallow, ghee 👍 they really sold us all on the saturated fat lie
tallow and ghee yesssir
love the recipe! reminds me of a peruvian Lomo Saltado but with out the soy sauce and with fish instead of meat.
These are the trips that got me interested in your channel , all your content is great, but these are special ! Thanks ...
You can use a cork screw for the coconuts 👍🏼
Vibes of the hoochie days , nice
Finally picked up my 1450 last week, and I did order the keel guard. A good fabricator could sort it for you.
The build quality is awesome and it's been action stations to get it sorted since then. This video just enhances the stoke.👌😁
Where's this island? Looks nice there, lots to see
Rod - Okay so you tossed “Nature’s Candy” crime of the century. However, I believe you more than made up for it by preparing that absolutely sublime Coral Trout with skin crisps!!! That had me convulsing with delight at the very idea of how bloody good I’m sure it all tasted! Great save and good on ya for it! Cheers!
Absolute best videos these solo island trips Rod! Greetings from Finland 👍👋
Thanks for the island camping video!! These are the best. More of this
Love a good trout. Not the best but its up there. Little tip, fillet both sides of the fish before removibg the fillet completely off one side. Makes the other side a whole lot easier.
Embarking on a solo camping adventure on a remote uninhabited island demonstrates your courage and self-reliance. Your ability to embrace solitude and connect with nature in its purest form is truly commendable. Wishing you safe and memorable adventures ahead!
And I Am Floating Village Life
Thank you for doing some island camping! Mad Love bruv!!❤
Man, Rokkit. It's amazing to see how far you've come bro.
Not too long ago you were putting your life in the hands of the rhib.
Happy to see you prospering, brother. Loving these new videos 🤙
I still have the inflatable 😁
lol
U R so lucky, I mean look at that beautiful island... WOW
TNX 4 ALLOWING PEOPLE LIKE ME 2 C SUCH AMAZING PARTS OF THE WORLD WE LIVE IN...!CHEERS
Came to say that you shouldn‘t worry so much about what kind of outdoor/fishing content you do. Obviously i highly enjoy you going remote on islands and exploring, fishing and cooking, but it‘s not why i am here. Im here because of you mate and the way you are. Just wanted you to know, don‘t feel forced to do stuff, just because an audience wants that from you, i guess its easier said than done and i might be talking outta my ass, but i just enjoy watching you do stuff and being who you want to be. Stay awesome mate! 🤙🏽
Wow you're delivering great images and places . Beautiful boat also , loving Yamahas .
Tossed the best part of the coconut... sprouted coconut is the best
The germinating root is the best part! I cried when you threw it away! 😢 we call it the bread
i was like. wtf Rod! that's a piece of heaven you threw away!
@@jaygwapo11 broo hard he threw away the best part
Ooo ya finally another island trip i love these videos
Just goes to show that it is so tough to survive out there. Even with modern fishing gear you're not guaranteed to catch a fish all the time with every cast. That's what I like about Rod's videos. It's not just about a guy out there having a blast. It's about a guy surviving.....and having a blast.
Love these videos! This is the kind of videos that got me hooked on your channel. Thanks!
Great Video once again Rod this has all the goodness of your channel
Mate another magical place the rest of the world doesn’t know what they are missing.
Coral trout crispy skins and a simple meal 🤪great island start looking forward to following video . Hope new member of the family if settling in well 👍
Cheers Wombat 🐾🎣🤗🍻
It's sooooo exciting watching you put up your tent!
I love ❤watching your videos and you have me hooked to your channel. I enjoy it so much so that I sometimes think I should migrate to Australia from Vancouver, Canada. Now don't get me wrong, Vancouver is gorgeous and beautiful as well but I wanna be able to experience what you have in your backyard. Keep up the great work my friend.
always love a good solo island camping video!!!!
The dry coconuts that have little shoots are very good because when you open it the little yellow round thing inside is very good to eat
Thumbnail looks incredible. Great vid as always mate 👍
Wicked, Rod. Compelling, viewing, everytime!! Love the channel. RIP Ray. Still don't believe he's gone. Can't wait for part two to drop!! Watching. This. Space.
Love these videos man, such an inspiration
Oh mate, that 2nd beach, that cove, stunning. I think I would have gone there but, hey, what do I know! lol
Thanks for making me hungry in the middle of the night 😂
Best youtube channel, thank you for the videos! :)
You can eat the centre of those germinating coconuts, they’re delicious!
A very cool island indeed Rod. Lots of nooks and crannies to explore
Yah threw away the o'o, best part of the coconut matey. All my Tokelaun family face palming haha
Yes!!!!! Ive missed these types of videos!!!!!
Solo camping vid plus rod!? Lets GOOOOO
Just needs a noodle rod;)
I'm so envious of the life you live buddy :) maybe some day. Your coral trout meal looked incredible.
think its a good day for some capsicum onion tomato fish and bacon skewers
Another Rocket video I wished I was there doing it too. :)
So happy for another solo camping adventure! Doesn't get any better than this! Wish I was there...Thanks!
You're right, the pines do add a nice element to the island beach landscape. :)
wake up girls, RoKKiT KiT posted another solo camping video!!!
Thanks, bud. 😮
You chucked away the best bit of the coconut.
I like to plant the sprouted coconuts i find somewhere else on the beach up in the dunes. Think of the future nuts.
Yesss dude! i have been looking forward to this kind of video!
Thanks for sharing such an amazing place and adventure with us! Alabama, USA
Should've eaten that "baby" coconut inside the one that started germinating. Sprouted coconut is amazing.
Between your channel and a few others, you guys have really influenced myself and my son. We want to go camping on uninhabited islands. As someone who has never owned a boat, would you have any advice you can share? Love your content mate!
Thanks for making a really long work better with a new post
Lovely day 1, Rod! I hope it turned out to be a fantastic stay.
Coral trout will always be one of the best eating fish of Australia. Know those in the Northern hemisphere love Pompano, tried both but prefer our coral trout. See there's another recipe for me to try, always quality content Rod.
As many others have said, when you threw that centre part of the coconut away my heart broke. That is the best part of the coconut. To pick one at the perfect time to get that is so hard. That is coconut candy. I would seriously throw the rest of the coconut away and just keep that part hahahaha. Doesn't matter next time
In trinidad 🇹🇹.. we call it coconut bread ! It's delicious! Broke my heart to see you throw it away! Try it next time !
You do knw you can eat that soft part you throw away in the coconut where I'm from they call it the heart or bread
We need more videos of you on Misty! You said sailing North? Did you end up doing this and is there a video of it? Thanks for the awesome content!
A different vibe on that bay, a bit lake like.
Rod that part of the coconut you threw away is the best part maan . Every Pacific Islander said. Noooooo when u did that Lol 😂
Great video a little bit of everything i love the outdoors, camping ,fishing ❤
SHOES! WHAT? Inconceivable!
That part in the coconut Rod you threw away is so good mate try it next time you come across it in Fiji 🇫🇯 have a nickname for it ferry floss because it has a texture similar to that 🤗 coconut 🥥
That embryo was the best part but I would have planted that one 😃
Avid fan right here from ph! 🇵🇭 luv the part where u catch&cook mate! hope u can make compilations for all ur catch&cook videos
Yes rod it's been a long time since you have been out on island wicked video as always
