Can the 49ers use Wishnowsky as the kickoff kicker? I thought he’s done kickoff previously. Maybe I’m thinking of another 49ers kicker.

They tried him there a few years ago, and ended up going back to Robbie Gould.
@@mattmaiocconfl desperate times require desperate measures. Better to have had given him the mini bye to get him ready and not risk the fg kicker every week. Shanahan should have had wishnowsky practicing as soon as he knew Wright couldn't get it even to the endzone. That's one weak leg for a kicker imo. But then again he only weighs about a buck 60, lol.

Niners got a motivation edge over Chiefs here I think. But we thought the same thing in 2020 after losing SB54 to them.
They need a rule in the NFL conceding a touch back out to your 30 yard line like MLB does with the 4 fingers up from the manager in the dugout for an intentional walk.
They need to move the touchback to the 40-yard line -- just like a kick out of bounds or a kick that lands short of the landing zone.

Wishnowsky can't do kickoffs? I mean all he has to do is hammer it as hard and far as he can. I can't imagine he can't get it out of the endzone.

- we have the worst punter by Yard/k,
- We are one of the few teams that has giving up multiple returns for TDs,
- worst team in consistent kickoffs going out of bounds, - we are the only one that is on their 3rd Kicker due to returns ending up with an injury
It definitely has been an issue that should end in adjustments. Our Special teams are not good. Take away the kick return from the Seahawks and its not a game anymore. Even the fake punt from the Rams, we win
Well this doesn’t sound all that encouraging for Sunday.
Why not release Bell?
The easy answer is because they think he's better, and they did not need a spot on the 53-man roster. But when Pearsall is ready, they will have to create a roster spot. And if Bell is released, they'd likely bring him back to the P-squad (if he clears waivers).
