Let me know which Airspace app you use and why! I know there's a ton more out there than these 5 and I would love to try out some other apps to see what I like ✅
I personally use UAV forecast, it's super simple to use and gives me the information I need like no-fly zones, and detailed weather info with go/no-go parameters that you can set yourself. I highly recommend it.
I'll have to check that one out, great recommendation! If it has weather and an accurate airmap and gives a simple go/no-go in my book then it checks off ✅ I like that you can set those parameters yourself ☝️
Great app. Plenty of helpful info in the free version too. I like UAV Forecast's wind profiles showing wind speed, gusts, and temperature at various elevations. Might be only 7 MPH at 33 feet but 20 MPH at 500 feet. Also shows predicted wind speed and direction as well as visibility and precipitation throughout the day. Great planning tool.
Hey, which app should I use to fly my under 250g drone? I was told wifi cam, but are there better alternatives? I’m new to this and want to travel with my drone 😊
I just subscribed.. Flown and built drones for years. Finally retired from my career selling engineering plastics and now pursuing the drone photography thing. Passed my FAA 107 certification last week. Now, sifting through which apps are best. I do love my Litchi app over the DJI for controlling my DJI birds...
I appreciate it Gusty! I tried looking for the same thing a while back and couldn't find anything this specific so I just had to research it myself. Hope things are going solid for you man 👊
Hover sources its airspace information from Airmap, which is what I find to be the best. Airmap's weather information isn't very comprehensive and NOTAMs are nowhere to be found within the app unfortunately. My workaround is a solid weather app (I use Dark Sky and VentuSky) and having the NOTAMs website bookmarked within Safari. AirMap continues to get support from airports to manually request authorization. That feature paired with the most up to date airspace information makes Airmap the app I trust the most when doing pre-flight planning.
I didn't know about the Dark Sky and VentuSky but I'm going to have to check those out. Yeah I like that about Hover how it is powered by Airmap. I love the recommendations man! Thanks for this info here 👊
I think it’d be useful to have as a check to make sure you’re not flying in restricted fly zones. Because even though it’s not registered, as a drone, regulations and laws still apply to it. For example, no flying within 5 miles of an airport, no flying above 400 ft, etc. Bottom line, it provides good info for pre flight checks 👍
I don't know about photos and video but for call info I think it's so an airport can call and reach out to you if need be (if you're using the LAANC system through the app). That's my best thoughts on why it would want call information at least. Photo and video, that's strange they would need access considering the app doesn't do anything with photo or video. 🤷♂️
Nice job! Using Airmap exclusively for w/107 but waiting for FAA to get off their butt and get B4UFly up and working. I won't hold my breath given that it's government...

Great information! Airspace apps the most important ones other than weather monitoring apps like Weather Underground or Tomorrow.io
Love this! Been looking for a video like this. Definitely gonna be using some of them

Very cool videos. Thank you for the well made instructions.
Thanks! I really appreciate it, and thanks for checking out the channel - I have more tutorials coming in the pipeline this month!
Nice information! You explained them very clearly. My favorite app is lettuce wraps ;)
Hahaha good one 😎😉
Hover is no longer on the app store

KRUSER absolutely. You’ve got a great channel! Keep up the great work!
Thanks Charlie! And for sure will 👊
Is hover not available in USA anymore?
+drone is only for apple? Cant seem to find it for android
Thanks for making this. Much needed video.
No problem Chris! Thanks for watching 👊
Did Hover change the app name? Can’t find the app displayed here on the App Store.
Super useful, Thank you!
You're the man bro!!
I'd argue that, although Hover is an excellent app, AirMap wins for being able to get FAA authorization in restricted areas, for part 107 pilots.
I can respect that 👆 The Hover app doesn't cover that unfortunately so I hear what you're saying there!
KRUSER Hover is great for the hobbyist for sure!
I am in a market to buy one drone like dji mini, do I still need this app before I fly?

Hover has very bad reviews at the app store. But im still giving it a try, lets see 🤷🏻♂️
Why does Hover need access to your photos, video and call info?

Good stuff
You're the man 👊👊
Hover app is not available at the moment... WHY?!
My guess is they're trying to get LAANC on their app maybe? That's strange it was down.
@@KRUSER I finally got Kittyhawk app for LAANC permit and WAV forecast for WX condition... Thanks !
Great to hear man!

Haha I hear you man! With the gov, it could take forever lol. Great suggestion with Airmap and flying part 107!
The B4UFLY app has been working lol.
