I've seen my share of frankencars over the years including a 1975/1976 Caddy, that was literally half 1975 and half 1976 welded together.... and that might have been one of the best of them... sure the electrical system occasionally caught fire but otherwise it rode well and ran great. But I've also seen cars that looked correct in every way but chewed up tires and couldn't be properly aligned and cars that got flooded in salt water that mysteriously dissolved within a year after the flood. Yes, you are absolutely correct that some cars get "totaled" by the insurance company without major structural damage... But lots of them are fixed with cheap aftermarket parts or used parts or are a welder's delight. Basically as a buyer, ask yourself, if the car was properly fixed with new parts by a qualified body man, "why is it so cheap?"

The problem is that salvage and rebuilt could literally mean anything. And sales people aren't known for being honest. Combine those two factors and it's still hard to make choice to buy salvage rebuild when there's a clean title in the same model...also.

This is what separates us from people who sell cars to who repairs them . Insurance companies love to cut corners and not pay to repair cars properly. Insurance companies are there untill we need them.
Dan my big worry about salvage title is the flooded car or truck. We have these yearly hurricaine in the south with massive flooding that floods thousands of cars and I can almost guarantee most of those end up back for sale at auctions or am I wrong? If someone buys one at auction all they would need to do is replace seats and carpet then resell it fooling the purchaser?
@@RzVids wrong, a flooded car can and they do often run. The issue is with the electronics that were damaged from the water that may not fault at first, but given a week, a month or sometimes longer that is when the issues begin. Fresh water floods are nowhere near as bad as salt water floods, but I will never buy a flooded vehicle in the first place unless the water line never breached the interior of the vehicle or engine.
Frank Murray Which is impossible, water will make its way into the interior of an engine if flooded. By flooded, the vehicle is completely submerged in water. Even then, you have gaskets all around the exterior of the engine, pulleys, and other none reusable parts all of which water will damage. The engine needs to be disassembled to be properly dried and refined for the lubricants to run again.
holy crap i just saw ur comment idk how i missed it for 2 months... 1st i stay a way from flooded cars because the wires will have corrosion in 2 3 4 5 years and u will have hell of a time trying to figure out where the problem is... 2nd im actually making a video on flooded cars in 2 weeks
Very true I totaled out my 1st car that I bought Certified used a 2014 Toyota Corolla S the cost to repair my front end was $500 each headlight not included labor total $1300.00 Bumper Cover and hood most the cost I found was in the paint over 6K. The cost to repair was total of 11780 value they gave me was 9K and Change. So the cost is real I have since bought a nice car with a reconstructed Title low miles very low and all that was hit was the rear bumper the frame was still in good shape aligned perfectly and no monthly payments and worth every penny
Im looking for a pre owned car by the end of this week and honestly I really don’t know what I’m getting myself into. Wish you were close so you could help by actually seeing the car :/
Can dealership sell salvage title cars without Disclosing the status. They never show you the actual pink slip when you’re buying a car at the dealership. They always say will mail it to you.
Don't buy salvage title. The rich get richer the poor get poorer. The rich want a new car so Insurance companies give them one and they don't mind, because they're going to pass the cost on to poor people who purchase the salvage title. If you buy a car with a salvage title, you are going to pay more for insurance then you would for a new car. Insurance companies know, that it was a salvage title by the VIN number, that they had to pay for it and they want to regroup their money, by charging the next person who gets insurance on the car. If you're the type of person who doesn't buy car insurance, then you can buy a salvage title. But if you're buying car insurance, look at paying at least 2,500 a year for car insurance, if you buy a salvage title. Also new car dealers will not even give you a penny, for a salvage title car on a trade in. They don't want them. Don't look at getting a bank loan for a salvage title car, the banks don't want to risk lending money out on a car that may break down. I made a mistake of buying a rebuilt title 2017 Toyota Prius on eBay for $11,000 that only had 16 K miles. It was like brand new. The Insurance Company wanted $2,500 a year insurance, to regroup the money they lost when they paid out on it, to the rich guy who wanted a new car. After 10 years I will have paid $36,000 for the 2017 car. Which only cost $20,000 when it was brand new. Insurance companies are scammers. If you're going to buy a rebuilt title or Salvage car, do not purchase insurance. You're paying for the rich guys mistake.
1 it does not cost more money to insure a rebuilt title than clean title. If you're ever being charged more just go to a different insurance company they're just lying to you. 2 rich people are not getting richer and poor people are not getting poorer. That's a lie made by poor people!!! Work for yourself only half a day and you'll be a millionaire! 3 more about insurance... Always use insurance broker and every year tell your insurance broker to find you new cheaper insurance.
I like your video. Thanks for clarifying many things. There is a toyota available that has a "rebuilt title due to theft history" says there was never a problem with it otherwise. This doesn't make sense to me.
Is nothing wrong buying a rebuilt title. Or a salvage title car. Also treat a clean title car as a same. Get a good shop to inspect the car before you buy.because of course your are not a professional . Too see what is wrong. This guy is on point .thanks for the video.
I showed a potential buyer a vehicle that my buddy repaired. Properly. The buyer wanted to have a body shop inspect the vehicle. So we took it to his choice. They said it looked great & cudn find the original accident damage and where it had been repaired. Actually complimented him on his work which you simply dont hear. Lotsa butchers who buy salvage and do a quick butcher job then resell a little under book. This vehicle was a ford exploder that the driver ran over a median & damaged the undercarriage. Destroyed it. Low miles & body good. Way he repaired it was changed the frame! I learned a bit helping lift the body & engine. Rented a brand new forklift. That was interesting.

Just found your channel. Thank you for sharing this valuable information! I'm here because I was looking at an r-title 2014 Volkswagon Jetta 67k miles 1.8Turbo for $6500. Being sold at a small shop that buys salvage cars and fixes and sells them. He said both passenger side doors had to be replaced because they were scraped along side the length of the doors. I called my mechanic to get it looked at but he said two things. 1/ He assumes more happened to the car and the guy selling it wasn't telling me the whole story if it had an r-title. 2/ He said VW need a lot of repairs and the parts are expensive He thought I should pass on the car because he said he couldn't guarantee something internal was wrong that he couldn't see. I haven't taken the car to him. Now I'm unsure. What do you think?
Great video and very informative. I am interested in looking at couple of vehicles online with rebuilt titles. Would you mind if i contact you?..like to get your opinion.
When you talked bout taking out the dash for the airbags, I had to pay 10 hours labor at 100+ dollars an hours to replace the ac compresser on my Dodge Ram cause they needed to remove the dash to get to it. Sucks.
I had no idea about salvaged titles I saw a Honda for sale on side of the road. I checked under the hood twice and I test drove it I went straight to the highway because I knew I needed a car that was going to drive well on the highway because I would travel back and forth about an hour to do different towns and had to drive long stretches on the highway so the first thing I wanted to do is get it on the highway and see how it performed and I performed nice anyway I got over with the guy and decided I was going to buy it and he took me to some garage and when I got over there next thing I know I was getting a salvage title which I didn't really know anything about it and I didn't let that stop me from getting it and I think I paid about $2,700 to 2800 for it I think it was like a 98 Honda Accord and I'm going to tell you what my husband turn around and went to go take a loan out on my car and I found out because of the salvage title instead of getting 1200 it was cut in half to 600 so it does make a difference if you're going to get a title loan or something like that not that I really intended to get a title loan anyway but that car was a good car I never had any mechanical issues with it.
When he talks about the airbags and how hard it is, yeah it is fucking hard but I have done it before and it takes me 3 to 4 hours of working and u should at least have someone to help u carrying the dashboard out.

Thanks man I appreciate the support just share these videos on Facebook your friends will think you for them they're thinking the same thing and have the same questions as you do about the cars
The problem is that salvage and rebuilt could literally mean anything. And sales people aren't known for being honest. Combine those two factors and it's still hard to make choice to buy salvage rebuild when there's a clean title in the same model...also.
ask them for photos of the car before repairs
Can I get your opinion on buying a rebuilt title car?

tnx dude!!!
u should do one
Bro, these videos are great. Subbed, liked, notification on, keep them shits coming.
hahahaha tnx! give me your opinion on my site 60minutecar.com
Happened to me. I had an accident to the front driver side and it can be repaired, but nope. Repair shops ask for more than maximum amount of money and at the endy car is gone. A car that It used to be the only thing that put a fucking smile in my face, its gone because someone didn't use their eyes while driving and hit me. Thank you for the video.
im sorry. i feel like nobody actually realizes how significant the pain of losing your car is. i lost my car due to an accident and my baby was the only thing making me happy. i hope you find/found a car that puts a smile on your face again.
@@ontheroadwithclassiq9424 Thanks! Losing my car made me feel more content, I don't see things like how they used to be. I have learned never to put my happiness over objects because we can lose them at any given moment. I have focused more on myself, and I had learned many things since I lost my car. I can tell you that, I will never forget her, but I had to move on. I have a little Chevy Spark, but I love her very much, clean her and take care of her well. I'm also sorry that you lost yours, I hope things get better.
Thanks for explaining this so easily and understandably
for sure!
Thanks for super helpful info 😊
want me to help u get a car from auction
This was a great education on Titles!
im glad i could help!
HELLO great video for me too, man I looking for a person repair salvage cars for good price and help me to get rebuild title... Thanks
I love how hes kinda pissed off and swears.
Ahhahahaha
Damn this was helpful. I’m thinking about buying a car that was once deemed a total loss. I was not sure if it was worth it.
it depends on the price and the damage
60MINUTECAR thanks. I have a lot of research to do.
Thank you
That was very eye opening. Thank you!
Appreciate the support just shared this video on Facebook hopefully somebody learned some!
FL moseley a flooded car will not run.
Thanks for the support I appreciate it!!!! I have been driving cars with rebuilt title my entire life I think it's the best car you can buy.

Can dealership sell salvage title cars without Disclosing the status. They never show you the actual pink slip when you’re buying a car at the dealership. They always say will mail it to you.
it depend on a state... :(
Don't buy salvage title.
This was very very helpful 👌🏾 thank you 🙏🏾
Tnx !
I like your video. Thanks for clarifying many things. There is a toyota available that has a "rebuilt title due to theft history" says there was never a problem with it otherwise. This doesn't make sense to me.

Unless you want to get fucked by dealer , yes buy a salvage
I’m saving this video and I will send to the people that ask me , any Frame damage ? When they are trying to buy one of my rebuilt cars .

I need answers right now please. I stay in Michigan, I brought a clean title car from a dealer a Yukon Denali 2007 for $6000 and I’m trying to make sure he isn’t added extra cost. He’s saying he went to get the title and they charged him taxes on the truck plus the cost of the instant title. And it came to $375. I just want to know if they actually taxed him or is he just pulling prices out of his ass to make some extra cash.
If you get your tag from the dealer then that sounds about right
It's very easy just ask is this money government money?
Really nice help, i’am about to buy a car that has a rebuilt status, i actually about to back out but after watching this video i might buy it.

I wish you could kinda guide me if I should I can send you the vin. I'm going crazy... we are in low in income and I wanted this van cause it was much cheaper, but I'mconfuses.
The only minivan to buy is Toyota Sienna. If you are in a low-income family the only solution is to make more money with whatever means necessary, I grew up in a part of town that was called felony Flats so I know all about that
Dude I believe you, but it seems crazy that the cost for repair on the Ferrari could be up to 120K! crazy..
The cost of repair may be cheaper but because the car is going through insurance the shop rates and the prices for everything will Skyrocket

The problem is some banks and credit unions won't give loans for salvage title purchases. Some insurance companies won't insure salvage titles.
So what just go with somebody else
