Nah, all of them cared. But the fact was, Merry literally can’t be fixed. No amount of duct tape, nails and hammers could keep her going. Merry was DONE. Period. Whether they like it or not, they have to keep going, and Merry can’t go any further. Plus, let’s be honest, Usopp was projecting a little. Especially after he lost the crew’s money and got the crap beaten out of him. So there was a double whammy on Usopp’s mind that caused him to lash out.
To me, the Merry enduring all of that, just how its crew suffered through countless fights to the death; and still loving them to go on by fixing itself. All of this, is why the Merry's send-off hits so close to home, it loved the straw hats so much and it had to finally rest.

I agree. He had the chance to walk away completely unscathed, but nope, he picks a fight with Akainu and almost gets Luffy killed and gets Whitebeard killed too since he stepped in to fight Akainu after he died. He undid ALL of Luffy's efforts to save him all because of a petty insult. He also left Luffy with PTSD over him dying right in front of his eyes, all because that idiot couldn't walk away over something so small. Plus, the attachment to Ace wasn't much because dude barely had any screentime leading up to his death and not much impact shown prior either. It's one thing with people like Jiraiya since he not only was another father figure to Naruto, but he also died gaining important data honorably. Ace was stupid.
@@Dabajaws Guess who put Luffy in danger after having his life saved by pissing off Akainu in the first place? Ace. He had the chance to walk away, but his pride got in the way and put him and Luffy in danger again.
He actually can defeat all the Pain if he knows more information about them. I think the Pain that can revive his teammates is what makes him lose. Well.. at least he went out like a Champ
@highstudentproduction8195 Honestly, a fully prepared Jiraiya would've likely won the fight and faired much better. He just lacked the proper information about what the deal with Pain was and it caused him to make fighting decisions he otherwise wouldn't have made. And he still went out like a boss despite that while gathering intel that was crucial to Naruto beating Pain later on.
For me it was Rengoku, we knew this mofo for 10 episodes maybe more, my main thought when he died wasn’t even about him it was calling Akaza a bitch for running away
Same, I failed to see how people connected with Rengoku in such a short time. My main issue with KNY overall is how fast things move like can I get to know these characters before they inevitably get swept?
I got confused because I thought the question was,"Which emotional scene got you crying the most?" And when I saw Ace's death scene, I already had my answer😅
Bakugou's breakdown for sure. Dude has a complex for sure and rather than try and process his emotions he makes it Deku's problem to fix, not even considering how much All Mights retirement is probably hurting Deku at that moment.
Bakugo is honestly a good device at measuring how shitty the person is. Because we were shown his development and internal struggles gradually up to season 6. If you missed all that, that's on you at this point. So to understand Bakugo you need: 1. A bit of psychological knowledge. 2. A bit of empathy. Yes, not only 100% good people deserve it. 3. A head on your shoulders and a brain inside it. He was about 16 when the show started and his school environment, as said his mother, supported his warped worldview. You can't be that mad at a child...
@@jasonstephenson4378 Well, to be fair, Bakugo was just coming off a few things: getting kidnapped, saved by Deku (someone he EXPLICITLY told not to come and rescue him), saved by the heroes who ultimately got hurt in the end but not too badly (Ragdoll excluded), All Might saved him and beat AFO but we all know how that ended, and finally he failed a provisional exam due to his emotions/arrogance and has to watch all his classmates become sidekicks and interns essentially. Couple this with the fact he already has an inferiority complex and so far has kept his taunts and anger fairly in check otherwise: a rare case for early Bakugo. Then just before the exams he sees his idol, the world’s #1 hero, have his secret exposed and it was BECAUSE of him being kidnapped that he and the other heroes even had the encounter with All for One (in Bakugo’s mind). In none of that is Bakugo thinking about how Deku feels considering what’s been taking place with him, and then add onto this that (again, in Bakugo’s head) Deku hasn’t been 100% honest with Bakugo about his new Quirk, the relationship with All Might, copying his movements, breaking his body, and most importantly: surpassing him. That’s when it clicks during the Provisional Exam that he realizes what happened during that sludge villain incident. The reason Deku said he was “gifted” a new power. The reason he can’t control that new power. Why he’s copying him and the other classmates. This all culminates in talking with Deku and going to Ground Zero to discuss with him the only way he knows how at this point: fighting. Every bit of frustration pouring out with each punch, kick, blast to the face, etc. until Deku lands that hit against him. And then he finally spills his guts to him, ironically the only person who understands him but he can’t admit that. Nonetheless, all the praise for a power he couldn’t use to save his hero, the frustration at Deku, his feelings of guilt towards All Might losing his power being HIS fault, and his guard finally being broken…he yields and breaks down in tears. Now, I didn’t mean to make this more dramatic than it needed to be but Bakugo barely took All Might’s feelings into consideration before blaming himself for something he feels he did to him. Like people in real life do unintentionally without thinking. Because Bakugo wasn’t thinking in this moment. He was running off guilt and anger, emotions that often blind someone to make erratic decisions and judgement calls until they calm down. But because Bakugo kept his emotions bottled up until fighting Deku, its literally an explosion of emotion pouring out after being held in for so long. What’s crazy is Deku even says something along the lines of he didn’t really think to check on Bakugo either, though I could be wrong so don’t quote me on that. The point being that Bakugo didn’t fight Deku to fix his problems or put Deku’s feelings into consideration because Bakugo himself didn’t know how to process his own emotions.
@@narindercatt2230 none of which excuses his actions and words. He suicide baited Izuku the very first episode. Nothing he deals with afterwards redeems that. I ain't gonna lie seeing Rengoku die was sad and made me shed a tear cuz of how well they fleshed out his character in like 2 hours, he felt like an actual person
To be fair it was Luffy that killed Ace. Why did he go to grab Ace's paper if Ace was right next to him. Also bro picked up a piece of paper in the middle of a war and literally Magma is casing you.
For me ot was Naruto's goodbye with his dad mainly due to Sasuke just randomly stating that he is going to kill the five kages out of the blue. That replaced all of the emotions I was feeling into straight up flabbergastement.
For me, it was Bakugo‘s breakdown like all he could do was create explosions, and he started acting like he was God. It’d be different if his feelings, and the reason why he got to that point was due to other people influencing him, but we could clearly see in every flashback that it was all 100% him . I do not feel bad for him and I will never feel bad for him.
I agree that his breakdown was not sad, but Bakugou's whole character is a man brought up in a society that praises powerful quirks like his. He was 100% influenced by the people around him, it's called Society and is honestly the biggest message in the show.
I fully agree, it really felt like they where trying to force the tough edgy guy becomes more emotionally open trope but it falls on its face, his story would have at least made sense if he had become a bully after the slime villain attacked him and have that be why he feels weak, but that's not what they did, instead it reads more as him being so self absorbed he view some one else doing well in life as grounds for attacking them

Ace's death for me. That moron is the sole reason why the Paramount War even happened. And that moron was home free and just had to escape. Instead he easily gets baited into fighting Akainu just because Akainu said some middle school level "yo daddy" jokes and Ace ended up becoming a donut for it.
I got into Demon Slayer through reading the physical manga, during the post Mugen Train movie hype train period. So, needless to say, I was ready to really like Rengoku and be sad at his death, upon getting to that arc. And don't get me wrong, Rengoku is a cool dude, has a cool design and cool abilities. But he literally sat on the train, spoke two sentences to Tanjiro, fell asleep, woke up, ran up and down the train a couple of times while Tanjiro fangirled over him and then died at his only major battle. Maybe the movie and series did him better, but I was not really sad when he died. I just felt he was underutilized. Meanwhile, after reading through the Entertainment District Arc, I didn't need any flashy adaptation to tell me that Tengen was the GOAT.
Pretty much. If anything, I felt terrible for his father. Bro became a broken man after losing how many of his comrades to the demons before coming to the conclusion that fighting them was pointless, only to then lose his own son cuz they followed his footsteps.
@@Pwilliams4000 no, the other son was unable to use Flame Breathing. He later accepted that he didn't need to become a demon slayer, but the main reason was his inability to fight
Ace and Rengoku and Mirio had me left broken especially Rengoku!!! It was way too early for him to die!!! He could've been one of the strongest in the show if the writers gave a damn and same with ace but with Mirio that was both badass and had me crying a little that made me respect him a whole lot more!!!
To me Rengoku just felt like meh. The guy shows up early in the arc and then we just get he likes to eat and he’s enthusiastic. That’s all we get of him pretty much up until he dies and he’s thinking about his dad and what not like it just fell flat for me because it didn’t feel like a lot of work went into his character in the time that we did have with him.
@Khrystian-l1f it’s hard to feel something for the guy when we only learn anything about him after his death it just felt rushed and tanjiro basing his life around him felt weird because he literally just met him. And he knew him for less than a day it just felt so weird
I feel like this still hit me emotionally mainly because even Luffy admitted he did not take very good care of her and he regretted it this did show a lot of character growth and development for Luffy
Bakugo's Breakdown always seemed to me to be a case of "Too Little, Too Late". I mean, after everything he pulled on Izuku(to the point of them almost failing their Liscense(?) Exam because he refused to work together), he suddenly goes "i WaS oNly tRyInG tO pRoTeCt YoU!" ans expects Izuku to belive that BS...
Bakugo in general is really arrogant but later down the line does show he holds deep respect and care for those around him. I think a big part most people overlook is that Bakugo legitimately thought (and was kinda right about Deku lying to him about being quirkless most of their childhood. And while we know the real reason, Bakugo up til the Provisional License Exams didn’t know he was GIVEN OFA, not hiding it to screw with Bakugo as he thinks. So his anger isn’t justified but somewhat understandable to an extent. Imagine being lied to by the person you thought was lesser than you, just a pebble on the sidewalk, now able to go toe to toe with you, copying your moves and being close with the #1 hero, someone you’ve been looking up to for years, all out of the blue. And when you take into account his inferiority complex, very short fuse, and humiliation of the sludge villain incident that everyone knew him for, on top of: losing against Deku, winning the Sports Festival only because Todoroki was unsure of himself, being kidnapped, failing to get your hero license, and finally seeing your inspiration and idol win but at the cost of never being able to fight again…yeah, no wonder he broke down during that fight with Deku.
@@JalenS2K I think a key phrase you used "person you thought was lesser than you" is the reason some, like me, didn't care for Bakugo or that moment. And I know he's just a kid who has been talked up by adults for who knows how long but thinking others are lesser than you in any context is a turnoff.
@ That’s fair enough. I’m not saying that his breakdown is going to relate to everyone and I don’t agree with his actions towards Deku or anyone else in the beginning of the story either. Clearly he shouldn’t have gone about things the way he did and I agree. Nonetheless, I was mostly showing things from his obscured tunnel vision, and why I liked the moment and understood it more on reread/rewatch.
I hate when writers have the character’s flashback after they die to make you care, like why not make me care before they die. The most noticeable cases of this happening for me are Nobara and Squala
I just finished Water 7 and this scene was so sad but your not wrong even during the burning Luffy said im sorry I ran into icebergs Which means he did it multiple times.
Bakugo's breakdown had me rolling my eyes so hard they're still lost in my head. That boy as a whole makes me feel nothing. It was so hyped up to me as the point I was apparently supposed to start liking his character and all I could think was "That's it?"
It was the beginning of his redemption arc. It was never supposed to be him listening to a speech from All Might and all of a sudden becoming an angel.

Prime example why I will never praise the Show/Manga. The story literally only has good fight scenes and interesting powers, everything else is either boring or straight up trash, especially trying to get us to care for ANY of the characters besides Nezuko or Tanjiro.
King's Game. Every freaking death was unnecessarily funny. The only thing that was the best about that show was the intro "Feed the Fire" by Coldrain. 😂
@@Pwilliams4000his name was Thatch. He had one of those pampadour type haircuts kinda like Knuckle does in Hunterxhunter. Only reason I know this is because I just recently passed that part in a rewatch lol
Being brutally honest: Rengoku's Death. To me, that just felt like the writer trying to show us, yet again, that 'Ooooo, look, Upper Moons are fucking OP'. Like that wasn't evident enough when the protagonist was about to die fighting the 5th Lower Moon.
I don't know about that. It makes sense to see Tanjiro struggle against a lower moon at the time, especially when he hasn't been a demon slayer for long. But it hits different to see one of the top demon slayers killed by an upper moon, and not off screen.
Bakugo’s Breakdown. How you gonna make me feel sad for this guy, while at the start he incentivized Izuku to jump off the school roof if he wanted to “potentially” get a Quirk in the next life. Like I get it, you feel bad for being a catalysts to All Might’s retirement as a Hero, but ANYONE could have been in that position if they got caught during the Camp Invasion. So I didn’t really care that Bakugo was up in his emotions.
LOL, you clearly have zero idea what you’re talking about here. First of all the scene where bakugo is crying isn’t made to make you feel bad for him it’s made to show you his perspective. And saying anyone could have gotten kidnapped is literally false because the LOV literally only wanted tokoyami or bakugo and tokoyami escaped. So yeah you don’t know what you’re talking about at all.
@ThehottakeguyIt still failed to make me care about him. "Oh no, he's an ego dead hormone monster, you should feel bad for him." Like he didn't tell Midoriya to kill himself or constantly abused him. His reasons aren't even warranted. It'd be one thing if Deku also caused him a fair share of grief, but he literally did NOTHING wrong to him, yet I'm supposed to feel bad for Bakugo? Bull f**king s**t.
@Thehottakeguy The target of the LOV doesnt particularly change the way anyone would have felt in Bakugo place because All Might is the number one hero and just about everyone fav hero literally anyone would have felt the same as him in that scene including the guy he is dumping his frustration on who mind you is the same guy he bullied for most of his life which basically the scene tells us to care of the POV of a highly arrogant person that was overly violent with the people he felt were beneath him. Its a bit much to ask anyone to care of the POV of the guy that up untill that point was overall a bad person.
For me it has to be Ace. Don't get me wrong, it was sad, but it was also preventable. If Oden were still alive Ace would've been saved. The one that hits hardest will always be Koro Sensei. Each time I rewatch Assassination Classroom I keep tricking myself into thinking they can save him, only for the final arc to start and he gets ripped away from us again.
Add that to the fact that the ship was cursed before it even set sail and you could see why they needed a new boat. At least it lives on in the mini-merry
I'd say Rengoku's death because I didn't know him enough about him to to care about him. What annoyed me even more was the series kept showing him like he was this great guy, and I'm sitting there like "I don't know you like that; why should I care about you?"
@@Pwilliams4000 I'm not saying it was malicious but Oda didn't do a good job showing that they cared for the Merry well-being until Water 7 It's even more annoying when Merry thanks them for taking care of it when they clearly didn't It was just poorly handled is all I'm saying
Hot take but they didn't really do much with his character besides he's gold rodgers son Luffy and sabos brother and had a close relationship with whitebeard he could have been so much more he had important character ties a cool design and powers and was likeable he was pretty much just there to die for emotional effect do to it being sit up with the card he gives Luffy and even that could have been avoided
Only seen MHA, KNY and SNK, and honestly, for me it was Rengoku. We didn't have him for that long so I didn't really feel anything when it happened. Yes it was impressive and honorable but there just wasn't enough screentime of him to care and even the people making it knew which is why they showed how every hashira had positive opinions about him in a "let's try and speed up the caring about him process" similar to when a character d!es and only then nice things are shown of them or just the people grieving is supposed to be enough to care in a significant magnitude.
I didn't care for a lot of these scenes but Ussop's departure was the one that I didn't care for the most. He refused to listen & jumped to conclusions which lead to him wanting to fight Luffy. He never even tried seeing their perspective on the situation. Then on top of that I just never liked Ussop so it just made the scene worse for me.
Okay well when you watch the show he tells you he wasn't jumping to conclusions he was just in denial like most people are when they're in their feelings are going to lose someone and the ship was alive so it's not an object it's someone and movie later apologized it's because he knows he was wrong about scrapping her
I mean personally it wasn't really ussop's departure itself that was emotional, what was emotional was Luffy coping and learning that he needs to grow tf up and make hard decisions to be a good captain
I can agree with D but for me its bakugo bullshit ass breakdown cuz this series has the audacity to TRY and make me feel bad for a dude that dead ass was bullying deku for being a minority but not just that TECHNICALLY SPEAKING deku is crippled in their universe
Exactly! People seem to forget that at the beginning of the series Midoriya was practically a special needs kid who was getting aggressively bullied by his classmates, and was told to kill himself by his CHILDHOOD FRIEND!!!
If Franky was on the crew since they got the Merry I think he’d cry every time some stupid shit happens to it. Wapol ate a large chunk of the ship. He ATE the wood out of the ship. Merry got abused

Hell Whitebeard TOLD HIS ASS to not go after blackbeard and what does he do? Do it anyway and got captured. I felt sorry for luffy but Ace did it to himself
@highstudentproduction8195 Honestly, a fully prepared Jiraiya would've likely won the fight and faired much better. She was a beauty of a ship
"Was" being the keyword
I got confused because I thought the question was,"Which emotional scene got you crying the most?" And when I saw Ace's death scene, I already had my answer😅
Bakugou's breakdown for sure. Dude has a complex for sure and rather than try and process his emotions he makes it Deku's problem to fix, not even considering how much All Mights retirement is probably hurting Deku at that moment.
Just from reading this I can tell you don’t understand bakugos character
Bakugo is honestly a good device at measuring how shitty the person is.
Because we were shown his development and internal struggles gradually up to season 6. If you missed all that, that's on you at this point.
So to understand Bakugo you need:

Did you even pay attention? It was not Bakugo trying to protect him, bro where did you even get that?
Yea, tf u on, bruh😂. He said that shoto, momo, and being beat by midoriya literally made him realize that he's not no. 1.
Being brutally honest: Rengoku's Death. To me, that just felt like the writer trying to show us, yet again, that 'Ooooo, look, Upper Moons are fucking OP'. Like that wasn't evident enough when the protagonist was about to die fighting the 5th Lower Moon.
Wild
I don't know about that. It makes sense to see Tanjiro struggle against a lower moon at the time, especially when he hasn't been a demon slayer for long. But it hits different to see one of the top demon slayers killed by an upper moon, and not off screen.
Yet even so it was the scene where even grown men cry. Oda knew what he was doing.
Damn, tbh when I first watched it, I actually shed a tear. But you make a good point
Bakugo's breakdown had me laughing because he was finally growing up and acting the baby he claimed Deku was!
Never forgot that they treated Merry so badly the ship had to repair itself
For me it has to be Ace. Don't get me wrong, it was sad, but it was also preventable. If Oden were still alive Ace would've been saved.
The one that hits hardest will always be Koro Sensei. Each time I rewatch Assassination Classroom I keep tricking myself into thinking they can save him, only for the final arc to start and he gets ripped away from us again.

Unlike the rest.of the scenes from the post i actually cried at the going merry send off, i didn't realize how much a boat mattered lol
I remember watching it die and thinking "Is this supposed to be sad? They BEEN needed to get rid of that shit as much shit its been through".
sakura prime rock lee prime
vs
Sakura
Bakugo one is not sad at all
Ngl that ship deserves a better crew
The emotional scene I DID care for is every single one from Vinland Saga
I was gonna say Bakugo's scene bro's timing was not it (Also I don't care for Bakugo)
If Franky was on the crew since they got the Merry I think he’d cry every time some stupid shit happens to it. Wapol ate a large chunk of the ship. He ATE the wood out of the ship. Merry got abused
I didn’t care about Bakugou until season 6
Rengoku's death since the way I found out about was when he joined the donut club and Bakugo just kinda became background noise for at some point
First
Not going to lie. When they let the Merry go was the first time I ever cried while watching anything.
Ace, only because i knew about it way before i started watching. Merry made me cry though. That voice line was just sad
Merry was a victim being put out of her misery, and yet, I still nearly cried.
Idk, that scene just hits hard for me.
For me it was Ace's death. The fkin idiot could have simply walked away to fight another day when he was freed, but no, he was goaded by a "your mama" joke. I get that his papa was disrespected, but he literally wasted the lives of his family. It was pointless, all that sacrifice just for him to be a donut in the end, Luffy crying was funny though 😂
For me it is rengokus
I was not suprised by his death
