There are a lot of discussions concerning combat. Personally, I like it. It's a twist on your usual JRPG style gameplay like Xenoblade, Dragon's Dogma, Tales etc. It's weird that people compare this to full action genres of other gacha games when this is clearly different. It just needs polish like dodge timings and delays and stuff and it'll be gucci. Also music is PEAKKKKK
I still hope they polish it to be at least half of dragons dogma combat And by that, i meant environment interactions and skills that interact with enemies and allies alike.
Also that ost drop at 10:56, that's legendary holy shit. Someone need to pause the game and just record the OST for these bosses esp the Aggelomoirai cause they sound so peak.
Finally found someone appreciating Aggelomoirai bgm. It's straight up like nier/final fantasy type of music. I love how they make every boss with epic orchestral stuff.
I really like the attention to unique details for the boss esp the Aggeloimoirai In story it's described as an enemy capable of reshaping its body structures. The devs instead of going for the obvious route that is making it transform into different enemies they made it so the majority of its attacks are actually it reshaping its arms into different things for attacking like a spear, wings, hammer, etc...
The only two gripe I have are that in the first phase the core of the Boss doesn't do anything, and in the second phase the boss is designed with 6 hand but still proceed to do one or two handed attacks. Not a big deal and wouldn't be disappointed if they keep it that way, but will be happy if they did add a little something to them.
@@creepy787True. The 1st and 2nd phases of Aggelomoirai were too easy. They hardly register as phases. Triangolos, on the other hand, were more impressive in terms of immersion. Also, I wish they would add negative statuses and ailments like in AK. This way, they can bring in medic class and encourage strategic battles with a squad instead of brainless solo clearing the stages in endgame.
Completely agree with you re comments Don t know why they comparing it to wuwa genshin or else Personaly it remind me more of rpg like SAO or warcraft game but in a more idk zelda/genshin style ? But definitly nit like them
HG cooked real hard with this. The music is as always, a BANGER. The boss design is stunning. Not easy and really fun to fight. I hope they make future bosses more harder just like in OG AK (maybe CC Max risk level lol).
Combat honestly looks bloody incredible minus the dodge jankiness. The game looks straight out of a usual $60 price tag AAA JRPG. I hope they support more than 60 fps when they actually release.
Endfield runs on Unity, which is less taxing than UE (WuWa's engine), so it should run well. I've even heard from people like f0b that somehow, Endfield has lower average CPU usage rates than all the other gacha games he plays. So the game is pretty well optimized.
I’m fine with combat mechanics, I agree with your comment. The only problem about the fighting style is, it’s freaking slow, it look like you’re fighting with 0 gravity, every wielded to attack, dodge, movement, chain, are all slow to me. All they need is to make the animation a little bit faster and player wouldn’t complain about the combat anymore.
The animation is OK, you can feel weight of each attack specially big sword. I guess you haven't played Darksoul or similar action games. Dodge need improve to give player more bonus, etc... In his clip, he used dodge a lot. Chain need condition to trigger which RPG player or tactic player familiar with it. For pure action game then this game isn't for you.
@@1HistoryDragon Maybe you’re right, a game that has slow mobility doesn’t really suited to me, i just prefer more faster combat style because it’ll give more intensity to gameplay just like Wuthering Waves and Zenless Zone Zero.
I think it's natural to compare with other gacha games, but if they say Endfield is worse than something... I would say, do you only know and play gacha games As the one who plays several gacha games like Genshin but not JRPG like Tales or even Monster Hunter series, I think there are so many unique features in Endfield just overwhelms the others. Btw, Endfield reminds me CONTROL by Remedy Ent. with many similarities such as difficult story, red and somber color tone, geometric design, huge title when we enter the boss stage or new field
With 4 char onfield battle and you only had a single boss without any creep make combat lack they should add alot creep and let our companion deal with the creep, and also the AI of companion are to lacking they run alongside with us attack when our control char hit, but sometimes they just stay and don't do anything. Well this still beta as long as they listened the player feedback this game will be another gem like wuwa.
Even though I agree that the gacha is decent, HG probably could change the guarantee to be carried into the next banner (Characters & Weapons) so everyone happy People seem to be complaining abt guarantee the most, as long as they could keep that 4% rates in weapon banner, then the gacha is truly amazing
Comparisons like that are perfectly valid though imo. When this game has Open World + Action Combat those comparisons will be inevitable. It might be apples and oranges to you but for the average person they will compare it to similar looking games so it can't be helped. So whatever criticism they have with the game should be also considered by the developers if they want more audience reach.
The comparisons are valid, and so is pointing out that this is a different genre. The combat has undergone a full revamp before from an even more tactical approach back in tech test so though possible, I don't think it's likely they'll do another overhaul from CBT to the launch build.
I think the developers themselves don't really care about how their competitors, otherwise they just need to make something the same as other developers do. Just make the game as "mainstream" as possible. like other upcoming gacha games battle gameplay
@@LuZErTX Yeah, it doesn’t, especially since your teammates are better at dodging attacks. I mean, they’re controlled by AI, but it makes it feel like your whole team will be fine as long as the character you’re controlling doesn’t die.
@@LuZErTX Yeah, the boss seem only target any character we control, the few times I see other character (AI controled) getting hit is when they either right behind us when boss attack or when they accidently get hit by AOE attack because they following us
Don't get me wrong. I'm an AK player, so I didn't expect it to have gameplay like GI or WW. But I expected something more strategic, like Xenoblade or Dragon's Dogma. This gameplay can't reach that height; it's just a normal JRPG, after all.
