I leave white space when I initially fill out my planner, because life will throw a curve ball from time to time, and that gives me space to adapt. I sometimes backfill with stickers and other stuff at mid-week and the end of the week.
I just discovered your videos during the pandemic and am trying to form a new life. My husband died in 2017, my daughter's boyfriend proposed in 2018 and they were married in 2019. This year is the pandemic and my daughter and I each had major surgeries. I just got home from being with her due to MY restrictions. My husband was a calendar man with everything he needed to do "on the square". After he passed, I turned the page from November to December and was met with a nearly BLANK 31 days. The white space scared me. Now, I have so much that needs to be done on the house that I am trying to fill in every blank space for the house, my business and me. While you say it is okay to have white space, I think some of us need to PLAN white space in our lives to "BE A VEGETABLE" and do nothing sometimes.
One of my favorite ways to fill in blank note pages at the end of the month is a couple of times in the year I trace my grandchildren’s hands, and then let them draw a pic, or try to write their name, or I ask them questions and I write down the question and answer. And of course always date the pages so I have them to look back on.
Honestly, the best thing for actually filling out my planner has been going to therapy. Yes. Really. Therapy "homework" for me involves things like mood logging, establishing new habits, and writing down incidents and thoughts that I want to take into therapy the next week.
I love the idea of having a loved one write something. I’m going to start letting my kids write something, or in the case of the two year old scribble a bit.
Instead of writing plans, I write down what my kids accomplish for homeschool that day. I also keep track of how often we do "daily" subjects (minimum of 180 times per year).
I absolutely LOVE your videos!!! I binge watch them constantly!!! Love your style, message, and your voice!! Could you possibly do a video on using a horizontal planner for journaling with maybe a good place to find journaling prompts, or maybe how you can incorporate some of the guided journaling pages into our weekly pages, and more ideas on how to decorate the classic horizontal layout? Would also love to see videos on using the monthly layout, either as daily lists as intended or other ways we can use them or maybe even incorporate pages from a monthly layout into a classic vertical and how to decorate a monthly layout style planner?? 🤞 Too much to ask?? LoL Hey, a planner babe can dream cant she??? OMG ideas for outdated planners that are untouched and gorgeous that I cant bring myself to just recycle!!?? 🥰 xoxo
your videos are so helpful! Your handwriting is gorgeous! Did you take course in lettering or what? Is there something you recommend for practicing? Keep doing your thing, girl! ♥️
I also have trouble coming up with a theme to decorate with or how to use some of the older books either separately or together like Happy Illustrations, Original Free Spirit, Sassy Plans, Radiate Positivity ect ect...
I know this video is a year old. But this was SUPER helpful. I was already kind of utilizing my planner like this. But I would often question myself or feel like I wasn't "using it right". I also learned some new ideas from you. Thank you for this !
I often us Nuvo drops for the white space by using a fairy dust from bottom left to top right of a spread and hoping that fills up some of the empty space.
I always enjoy your tips. Here's a challenge for you: I use a 5 1/2 by 8 1/2 planner with a horizontal format and I occasionally have difficulty fitting everything in on those really busy weeks. Do you have any tips?
Heather. Just new to planning in calendar book. So I like to write my kids work schedules down, (hospital) and school schedules (college) since they are varied. How would you mark them? With a sticker block, on a notes page, or just write in. Curious to make it look nice. I love the look you and other planners create. Just looking for ideas. Thank you
Sometimes I use extra space as brain dumps, wish lists, lettering practice.
I work for a greetings card company. We call those “small-lidays” lol.
I realized that I don’t like weeklies, and I don’t HAVE to use them. Took me a while! 😃 I’m happy with my monthly layout.

I do the same thing. I might get called into work last minute or something will come up and throw my whole plans for the day out the window.

Be okay with white space🥰
I love this. Reminds us that it's okay to do nothing!!❤

Oh My God you write ✍🏼 so nicely. I love it!

Amazing tips and tricks!! And yes, sometimes I embrace those white spaces! Because I planned time to relax, and not be busy. ❤️❤️
I also have trouble coming up with a theme to decorate with or how to use some of the older books either separately or together like Happy Illustrations, Original Free Spirit, Sassy Plans, Radiate Positivity ect ect...
I do some of these, but never thought of having a loved one write in my book!! I love this! Thanks so much!!! Love watching your channel!

As a College Student, I would love to see how you could use this planner in stickers for that??? I'm struggling on that.
TfS have you ever used a happy planner as a memory book ? Xoxox

"Glorification of busy"
I feel attacked
What are the pens you are using, Heather??
I feel like this video idea was on planning with bumbles channel a while back.
Another tip is to draw something.
I need help feeling out the horizontal planner. the right side has too much open space. please help me
When you take out your pages, it never gets crinkled... HOW? My pages get all messed up!
Pull straight down from the top of the page. Never pull out like a composition book.
@@wendysmith8298 Thanks for the help!
What pen are u using??
What pens are you using? Thx!
I don’t have anything to fill-in. It’s all white space.
What pens are u using ?
Candice May She just posted a video on her channel with the pens she’s using. She has links in the description for all of the pens used!
Well that was depressing. I have none of those.
