You, my friend, just missed out the most part of Debrecen. First of all, you haven't noticed behind yourself the lovely park which calls "Nagyerdő" which is actually the most famous natural phenomenon around Debrecen. You have found a couple of restorants but they mean the less. Next time when you came to visit our city just ask me as a guide and I garantee that you won't miss out anything.
I visited Debrecen in 2017 as my girlfriend is from there. We also tried to enter the city hall and was greeted by a stern gentleman. haha
A visit to Debrecen reminds me of Zsigmond Moricz's novel Be Faithful Unto Death.
