I remember when I was young and had intrusive thoughts in the middle of the night and I would just contemplate those thoughts trying to figure out why, but I couldn't seem to control it. It was really irritating and painful to deal with. But I have soon gotten over it by trying to ignore whatever the thoughts were.
Hey man. I'm 29 and also from UK. I have OCD, major depressive disorder, anxiety, social anxiety and suicidal ideation. I have to count while washing my hands, checking doors/windows, etc. OCD itself is just a type of anxiety disorder. I've come to the realisation that there is no permanent fix for mental health problems, there are only ways to learn how to cope and mitigate them. As a philosopher from India named Jiddu said: "It's no measurement of health to be well adjusted to a profoundly sick society".
I get intrusive thoughts as well. Try meditating to practice silencing your thoughts. And when the thoughts cloud your mind try cultivating positive thoughts. When your thoughts become negative think positive. Remember negative thoughts are not you.
12:01 lorazepam & SSRIs can help deal with intrusive thoughts in my case. Definitely not going to eliminate them completely but they give you some strength to control your mind & thoughts.
Intrusive thoughts are a diffelcult one but have some experience of that in the past. For me looking at the act It self by watching gore, made them less of a threat. And looking at consequenties prevents me doing such things. Also keeping yourself clam and ignoring them can work. Most of the times trying to understand them solved the problem, a lot of people doesn't have bad intensens, but some do. 😢😂
@@evelyna_paula1747 It sure can, but doesn't have to.😅 A lot of people I know have intrusive thoughts It's a pretty commen thing. And they don't do a job like working for the police or army or perhaps surgeon etc
This is why I don't blame folk for doing the violent things they do It's like so many things happen to you from out of your control and the people around us just expect us to be fine and a functional member of this society
@@thechelsearantman6717 it's fucking stupid smh maybe I should run into a store pouring milk all over myself just to get filmed an then say some real shit. 9:06 intrusive thoughts run a lot more rampant and prevalent than you thought. Especially during this day and age.

Living with severe OCD (as I do) I can empathise. It's a fucking living nightmare at times.

A while back I couldn't go to sleep without tapping the lamp on and off 4 sets of 4 times. It was so strange.
