Fellow defibrillator owner here from Wales 🏴 UK. Great video and will be useful to anyone who is newly fitted or about to be fitted with a defibrillator. I’m on my second unit now after my first lasting 10 years and then having to be changed due to a low battery. I’d had 8 full energy shocks and numerous anti arrhythmia pacing treatments - basically saved my life every time 👌🏻 ❤️
I had a run of VT while in the Gym. I was lucky and my heart was strong enough to maintain the VT until I got to the hospital. Once at the hospital they corrected the rhythm with chemical injection, and my first ICD went in a week afterwards 👍🏻
I’m in it a week now and shocked twice. Wow saw a flash kicked in the chest holler out loud swear I heard it too. My issue is tachycardia. Prior I had a heart attack and ended up getting triple bypass last year in 2023. New meds seem to control issues because anticipating the shock is almost as bad as the shock for me.
I'm 10 years post septal myectomy for HOCM, and also was left with LBB and scarring. Yesterday, my electrophysiologist told me that I need an ICD, and he said they want to use the Boston Scientific since it has a longer battery life. I was glad to find this video since my situation is so similar.
Bro!! I had an ICD for 9 years before I had a heart transplant. Please! For the love of GOD if anything seems off, don’t let the electrophysiologists say “you’ll be fine”. ❤️❤️❤️ good luck and God Bless babes ❤️❤️❤️ (you also DONT always pass out)
Did you make a video? I can’t find it. Thank you. My mom just had a shock 3 hours ago. It’s a holiday so she can’t contact anyone but 911, hoping to hear your experience
I wish you the best on your journey. I just saw this video and subscribed. I also have an ICD and a left bundle branch block. My ICD is dual lead. It nice to hear someone else describe what the device checks feel like when you go into the clinic. Stay encouraged. God bless you and your family.
Yea I might be pacemaker dependent soon since I need another ablation that will be my next fear. Mine is only a single as of not but time might change that. Thanks for the follow!
I’m in a similar boat as yourself: LBBB, HCM, Septal Myomectomy (mine was at 6 months old), and just today I have been implanted with an ICD because of a VT during a stress test. Hoping the best for you.
I was born with the congenital heart condition Tetrology of Fallots and have been suffering from heart failure for the past few years. The Cardiologist was talking about putting in a PaceMaker, but after having a MRI and CT Scan and discovering scaring on my heart it was decided that I will need a defibrillator. I will be having a PET scan as they think I may have Sarciodosis but are not 100% sure. At this stage I'am unsure when I will have the defibrillator put in.
I seem to have mine in as a security a gaurdian angel.I have no arithmia or congestive or tachycardia. Not suffered a major cardiac arrest either.Mine is in because my heart failure did not improve enough with 6 months of medication ,my ejection fraction went as low as 19 ,but rallied to 29 at best .its a dual lead ICD .And im at risk of a sudden cardiac ,and as the surgeon bluntly told me there be no coming back if that happened.Hence the beed for the ICD.
My husband's Ejection fraction is at 25 percent. Been between 20 to 35 percent. MD is suggesting ICD. Seems like you are right about it being a guardian angel 😇
Thanks for sharing your experience, I’m having my ICD In two days … I’m a little nervous.. I’m 36 as well and was born with a Congenital Heart defect. I'm not scared about the procedure I'm more scare of this life-changing event... I have so many questions 😢… are you taking any medications with the device?
This is my second one in my chest and it went off in April and june I'm scared it's hurts like a you know what but i have no choice but to have it. I have cardiomyopathy came from pregnancy. never did drugs i wonder some times why me.
I am 26 year old, implanted dual chamber icd on aug 04,2022, the shock is painfull i get shocked 6 times a day.. Its more anxious to me... Life is not going well 😔
That's awful, feel so bad for you, respect. I had a cardiac arrest whilst driving in May of 2009. Woke up 10 days later with a triple bypass and no memory of the event. I had an ICD fitted in September 2009 following tests that said it was required. It never had to do anything, it was renewed in 2018. Never had to do a thing. May 19 2023, bang! saved my life. Glad I have it, bothered I can't drive for a while. Still here though. I'm scared that it might go off again, your daily events are terrible, and you're very young. What do your health care professionals say?
Thank you for sharing. My 12 year old son just had his ICD put in about 2 weeks ago. Like you, I also don´t understand how they manage to make the battery last so long. Looks like my son will also need a myectomy next year. We are very very nervous about that.
Hi pal I go tommorkw for my new BOSTON S ICD AND PACEMAKER NEW COMBO RESERACH .shitting myself.. had cardiac arrest nov 22..now heart is severe weak scarred and need a icd asap....any help tips tricks appreciated...respect.buddy.
I've been shocked five times and it's scarier than dying. In my opinion. I'm dreading death of my body. Doctors will not shut it off and let it hit the patient multiple times untill they pass away. I don't want to go through that.
I got a weird feeling go through my body and decided to get checked out at the ER. They though i was having a heart attack and later found out about HOCM.
I got mine two days ago the pain as not bad but I got a shock after having sex! I know stupid of me to do that too early but it felt like a slight kick to the chest. I jump up out the bed yelling to my girlfriend who was in the restroom . Now I’m Scared to do anything. Doctor appointment soon

Hi Theresa - So if i go over 200 you don't think I will pass out like they said? Thanks, Tim
Hello may I ask why you needed a heart transplant? Ive had a icd for 7 years now
UPDATE: My ICD gave me my First Shock 2 weeks ago. I will be making an updated video of my status but I am so happy the device saved my life!

Omg! I was nice to find this vdo. My dr told me I should get it done. I m so scary. How the shock feeling to you all? Any experience can you share?
It's understandable to feel scared about getting a procedure done, but remember, many others have gone through it too!
Great vid. I 5 days in with an ICD. Scary stuff
Thanks Landon! How are you doing?

Hello, look at a leadless any advice, thnak you sir.
I dont know much about a leadless device.
I've been shocked five times and it's scarier than dying. In my opinion. I'm dreading death of my body. Doctors will not shut it off and let it hit the patient multiple times untill they pass away. I don't want to go through that.
I was recently shocked for the first time I’ll be making a whole video about that experience
What was the start of your heart problems? Do your ablation help or cause more problems then good?
I got a weird feeling go through my body and decided to get checked out at the ER. They though i was having a heart attack and later found out about HOCM.
