Thank you for this. It was a seminal year in my life. I noticed that Marian Anderson abd jazz legend Billy Ekstine weren't there. They both died at the beginning of the year.
Yeah that was unreal. I was hoping for a favorable outcome but also knew that the chances of that happening were very slim. I agree appreciate the mention I wonder if her parents are still with us?
Your credits for Don Ameche are for his 1980s comeback. The man had been a major star in the 1930s and 40s, then his career slowed down to live theater and TV guest shots.
Singer Marian Anderson died April 8, 1993 at age 96. Actor Don DeFore who portrayed George Baxter of the 60s show Hazel died December 22, 1993 at age 80.
@@michaelleroy9281 And I was unemployed practically the entire year, almost got arrested, worked at one job for about a week then got fired. But at least that year I first got my driver's license and graduated high school.

MR. THURGOOD MARSHALL , MR.ARTHUR ASHE, MARION ANDERSON, THANK YOU FOR YOUR CONTRIBUTIONS. FRED GWYNN ONE OF MY FAVORITE SHOWS THE MUNSTERS I HAD THE 2 DISC SET . IT STILL COMES ON TV I STILL WATCH THE SHOW
When Conway Twitty died it devastated me a great deal. I wasn't the same for months. He was one of my favorite singers since childhood. He's one of those singers who just can't be replaced.
You missed actor Richard Jordan. He was known for films such as "Logan's Run" and "Gettysburg". Also, as Joseph Armagh in the NBC TV miniseries "Captains and the Kings" in 1976. He died on August 30, 1993, age 56 of a brain tumor.
A note on Don Drysdale - Long time broadcaster, his best firend Ken 'Hawk' Harrelson said Don's biggest fear was dying alone in a hotel room and that's exactly how he passed, in a foreign country no less (Dodgers at Montreal Expos).
Richie Ashburn would pass away in a similar manner in 1997. He also had stated he feared dying in a hotel room. In fact, I believe it was after Drysdale’s death that Ashburn mentioned this. Vin Scully had the unenviable task of not only having to announce Drysdale’s passing midgame, but also having to call the first few innings knowing this had happened but unable to make the announcement until after Drysdale’s family had been notified
Honorable mention for the great German actor, Werner Stocker, perhaps best known for his role of Darius, the 2,000 year old immortal monk/priest in Highlander: The Series. He died of a brain tumor on May 27, 1993. He was only 38 years old.
You left out Grace Stafford voice of Woody Woodpecker and Charles Barton and Charles Lamont directors of classic Abbott And Costello comedies I've loved since childhood.
Andre had a growing disease when he was a kid. His health conditions caught up with him in the late 80's and early 90's. His legs were getting weaker and couldn't support his weight
How fleeting is life and how sad is death. Seeing these faces, knowing people I've loved who have died, its very sad. It comes to us all, we know - but still.
You left off Kerry Von Erich, who died from a self-inflected gunshot wound on February 18, 1993. He was the fifth of the six Von Erich brothers to die and the third to commit suicide after his brothers Chris (in 1991) and Mike (in 1987).
Seems to be just American celebrities mentioned here… No mention of the actors Bernard Bresslaw and Kenneth Connor who starred in the British Carry On films or Gerald Thomas who created them and directed who also left us in 1993
I know 🎉this memoriam is for those who died in 1993, but I'd like to dedicate this to my mom, who passed away in 1991. It's been 32 yrs, and I her as tho it were yday, all over again. God bless u mommy, in Heaven. U were a wondeful mother & person❤❤🕊🕊
God bless you and comfort your heart. I can certainly relate. I lost my Moma in 2007. It’s been 16 years now but I still have my moments when sadness overwhelms me and I wish she were here. I had a wonderful Mother too.
Arthur Ashe had hemophilia. He received blood transfusions on a regular basis throughout his life. It wasn’t a severe case so he was able to lead a normal life including being a tennis champion. Thus, he received blood that was not screened for AIDS and that led to his death from complications of that virus.
A notable omission is Jim Valvano. Legendary college basketball coach who led nc state to a national title. Not to mention his very famous espy speech.
I never knew David Koresh and I were the same age. And so many greats like Arthur Ashe and Conway Twitty have been gone 30 years! This is a great channel. 👍

Nice to see Ray Gillen. What a loss as a singer.
Don Drysdale pitched for BROOKLYN for two years before the move to LA.
When he retired, he was literally the last of the Brooklyn Dodgers.

Worth seeing the Fred Gwynne movie, "Disorganised Crime." It's one of those low-budget B-movies that has aged pretty well.
