BOTH companies just immediately added more micro transactions and made the game based around a battlepass or having to purchase something for “early access” on the day it was announced it would release. All for the higher ups to pocket 80% of the money and leave only 20% to workers salaries and funding to improve what’s wrong

bad thing is supercell is owned by tencent (chinese gaming compnay) n they own like most of epic games and a bunch of other games. they're worth like $800 billion so tbh i dont think they even care abt supercell its such a small percentage of their revenue that they will literally ignore it
@ham66705 As bad as buying the majority of the industry is, Tencent is hands-off with Supercell, they are with anything that isn't bought while it was dying, or isn't a GIANT company, a regular business practice.
Supercell was already doing very well when they were bought, it wasn't a dying studio that had insane potential. Tencent already made enough back to not care about them anymore, and have bigger things to focus on. (AKA dying studios that have potential which they want to realize that potential and/or giants in the industry like Riot.)
Everything was caused by Supercell, Tencent already gave them a fortune, if they die, that's on them, I don't think Tencent needs to save them, or wants to.
Why spend more money on a studio that's killing themself?

thought process of making a mobile game:
1. Make game (clash royale)
2. Make a problem in the game (chest wait times)
3. Make player pay money to fix this problem (use gems to skip wait time)
They were always money hungry since the beginning
would rather be paying 8.99 for pass royale then 1 band to max out 1 card
Its the same concept for when they release a broken card, they know its broken they just hope everyone spends all their money to max it out and then they nerf it
This game was setup up as a cash grab. Which is why I never spent a dime on it.

As a free to play player, I worked my ass off to get to level 13. Then they added 14. Then worked my ass off to get my cards to level 14. Then they added 15. I quit for about a year. Now I logged back in and there’s a bunch of new shit I don’t have and it’s not even fun. I’m playing against people with level 12 towers and cards smh
I’m a clan leader of a top US clan, you could probably see it in the top 10 for ultimate champ. It’s beyond not fun at this point. You would think that after accomplishing everything, it would be fun, but they can’t even make the game fun.
Yeah they’re off the rocker, I don’t mind them adding stuff. The absurd parts is to fully be able to compete with versatility you have to spend a thousand dollars to keep up. Naw, not for a mobile game, Not for any game..

@hunchotrip2676no it was not. Progression was never that easy as it was back then. The value of pass royale was insane and it was only 5$. Plus you would get a free book of cards every season as a free to play player too. The real downfall started when they introduced diamond pass.
It was too good a deal that it was the only time i spent $20 on the game and bought 4 passes

I feel like all of his points are valid, supercell shot themselves in the foot. They had something good going and they ruined it through greed I think this is a lesson for all gaming studios, greed and it's ruins a game and ruins their reputation.
The problem is this isn’t a lesson. This is what the standard is now. Every single video game does this now, it’s literally their final form and not a single franchise has been exempt this isn’t some stepping stone this is just another game that sold out and lost all its magic the entire video game world as a whole is dead and there will never be a revival because tbh people like us will never stop we can’t we’re addicted we need a video game we need a virtual reality to play and live in other than our own lives the truth is we all should be finding a way to live without videos games now because nobody’s gonna stop until they realize they killed the excitement and now no one wants to waste their life on video games anymore clash is one of the worst in terms of players it’s literally just rich people with time on their hands it’s a nice competitive play that requires a brain somewhat and to make that kinda demographic walk away is insane they legit are sheep the same with COD to touch on bigger games it’s dead like actually dead all plot points are retconned making all old games dead it’s literally just a platform to push the biggest media as of late and not even a COD anymore just a way to keep braindead gooner incels addicted to the script.

13:06 The only reasons I can think is that lucky chests use RNG to get you a new card (I think or they all just suck) so a 1 in 121 chance of the card you want is already very high, or balancing as most cards aren’t balanced

6:05 another Supercell creator said this for Brawl Stars as well but the difference was the dev team for them came out and kinda said sorry but they did admit that they were wrong overmonitizing the game and they made changes so the new stuff isnt entirely locked behind P2W methods, they do make mistakes like the most recent updates with records which I think they should just straight up revert and with buffies which I can see being good for the game but they are so annoying to get due to being verh overpriced and entirely dependent on luck to which one ypu get that its not worth it rn, but at least their dec team seems to still be listening to the community, Clash Royale isnt, Im a lover of both these games but atm, I just see myself enjoying Brawl more kinda like when I first started cuz they still are very capable of releasing great updates that give benefits to all kindsof players whether its new or long term, Clash is currently pissing the long term players off and isnt attracting new ones either cuz the long term players cant recommend anyone to play it rn due to the revenue first focus of the dev team

nah i don't think records need to be deleted. they should just transfer the mastery rewards over to records and the game still would have been popular (but no supercell's greed gets the best of them)
@arhamgamez8575I just think mastery was straight up better cuz of trophy scaling allowing you to get it much quicker whereas 100 wins is a lot more time consuming and even the mastery rewards arent worth 100 wins to get all of them
@kcd1caseClash is, Brawl had new features that makes it easier to progress, I started a mini acc a few months back to test the new trophy road completely f2p and have around half the brawlers and of those, only 3 of them are below power 7 cuz I only unlocked them a day or 2 ago and was busy and I have 9 maxed out brawlers, thats not bad at all especially since I wasnt sweating every bit of progression
Clash was so much fun in November, I started playing again and that poof, heroes and I was so pissed I couldn’t do anything
