POCUS: 1st Trimester Pregnancy Case 4 - Ectopic Pregnancy

  • Often patients present with abdominal pain or vaginal bleeding during the first trimester of pregnancy. This can be a risky situation for the patient since ectopic pregnancy is still on of the leading causes of death during the first trimester of pregnancy. In this case we review a patient who presented with vaginal bleeding and abdominal pain while pregnant in the first trimester.
    We see in this study that the patient had a tubal ring that was diagnostic of an ectopic pregnancy.

    So when I was bleeding... Is that a miscarriage? I saw the calculator on an app & for some reason I am 8-9 weeks pregnant. However, it seems like I can be 4 months pregnant. I'm not sure...since I was pregnant twice (supposedly). Unless, it is a miscarriage?
