Vince Gilligan had to send a tweet asking fans of the show not to throw pizzas onto the roof of the house that was used for the Walt's home, as some did and the owner got pissed. She put up fences and people still tried to 1 shot them up there.

I mean, Skyler makes it perfectly clear she does not want to be in the relationship anymore whatsoever, and Walt just basically says no and forces himself back into her life. That's just disgusting as cheating. Not saying either of them are the good guy in the situation, but you can't act like what Skyler did is somehow worse than lying, killing people, and literally breaking the law while saying it's for the family, and then refusing to face the consequences. If it was really just for the family, he would accept the situation and support for his family regardless.
Exactly, and it's not even cheating when she has made it perfectly clear that their relationship is over. Their marriage is only a legal contract at that point and adultery is not a legal matter.
@@MLennholm It is really crazy to me how far people go to justify Walt's actions just because he's the main character. I mean, I guess that's the point, and it's easier to see his actions and the actions of those around him for what they are from the start after seeing the whole show, but I really don't see how someone can be mad at Skyler for this. She literally tried to divorce him and he just refused.
Putting yourself in Skyler's shoes is important imo. You find out your husband is manufacturing drugs, involved with very dangerous people. You try your best to resolve this amicably, not turning him in to the cops and just asking for a divorce, to remove the threat to your life and your children's lives from the house. He leaves temporarily and moves himself back into the house, further endangering your family. She /still/ doesn't turn him in to the cops. She /still/ doesn't vindicate herself to Walter Jr. by turning him against his dad (which she probably should have done). What does she have left to do but try to make him want to leave?
All around I think she's incredibly reasonable in this decision
I will just say: here's where there is a huge pivot with Skylar. For some bizarre reason, there are weirdos who are absolutely okay with Walter being a murderous drug kingpin but they draw the line with Skylar cheating.
It's not that what she did is good but it's blown out of proportion and the same vitriolic hate that weirdos have for Skylar they don't have it for Walter, even tho Walter objectively does much worse things.
All i say is: Anna Gunn didn't deserve the hate and harassment that she received for YEARS for a role that she brilliantly acted
And she is not even cheating. She separated from Walt after finding out what he did. And only because she couldn't bring herself to rat out Walt to the police, as a "thanks" Walt could force his way back into their house and pretend (!) they are still a family.
But surely they don't have a "working" relationship at this point. So she is absolutely free to have a one-night-stand or a new relationship.

That was Skylar's *out* right there. When the officer asked about knowledge of anything illegal. Now she's complicit with Walter in endangering her family. So was her dismissing her lawyer's advice to protect Walt Jrcs image of his father. Smdh.
*Edit to Add:* Skylar's "IFT" moment is iconic though. The look on Walter's face alone was the chef's kiss. If a woman is telling a man that she doesn't want to be with him, and he keeos forcing it... thats fair game to me instead of just sitting there on your hands feleing helpless imo. And she got some fun out of it . It was worth a shot at least to try yo get that him out of the house ╮(. ❛ ᴗ ❛.)╭

Being upset with Skylar is something else
Skyler was an annoying b*** even before Walt started cooking and she's crooked too as we all see in later episodes, just like her annoying kleptomaniac Sister. So yeah, it's perfectly fine to be upset with Skyler. In fact nothing in Braking Bad is black and white, almost everyone has a dirty side. Skyler and Jesse are not saints above any criticism as some fans like to portray them.

Now, I'm not saying she should have slept with Ted but it's absolutely NOT about equivalency. Skylar is gradually being robbed of her agency over anything. Sure, she could've outed Walt to the police when they were at the house.....though at the risk of completely alienating her son. Meanwhile, she knows Walt and his pride and knew that a tryst with Ted would really wound his precious pride. Skylar's trapped in an abusive relationship. So she acted out. It may have been wrong but it was also understandable. As others have pointed out, no one in this universe is all good or all bad - they're all human.
Jesse just wanted him to be proud of him for learning his cook he applied hiylike Walt is always telling him to ans instead he gets mad because of his ego and the bad days he have just had

Yea at this point Skyler does not respect him or understand the reason he gave her for why he did something so illegal and dangerous she knows that drug world puts the whole family in danger.
Anna Gunn got a lot of flak for how Skylar acted in S2 and S3 not realizing of course it was the writers making her character that way

They want you to dislike Skylar in these episodes. Like so many BB characters in this universe she has a complex arc. Characters you dislike at first you end up looking and vice versa - throughout the series and also in Better Call Saul. Somone who is pathetic or loudmouthed at the start of the series you end up pulling for at the end and vice versa. Buckle up. It only gets tenser from here.

Didn't watch yet, but please dont be one of thsie who blindly hate Skyler. Is she perfect? Saint? No. No one is cause that's how it is. And there are CERTAINLY way worse people in the show. There afe a lot of angles to everything in life. So naturally a lot of angles to anything in the show that's written so good as BrBa. So yeah. I someone might not like Skyler's character, but the amount of hate she got is unreasonable and totally ridiculous IMHO.

The Walter we know isn't the same man Skyler fell in love with. She wanted a divorce and he refused, so she did something she thought might push him away. Breaking Bad takes place in a time when people thought weed was the devil. It would be hard enough for Skyler to accept Walt as a pot dealer. We only do it because we know him and his story. I don't think most fans of the show are praising real life meth manufacturers right?
Is it weird she brought Holly to Ted's? Maybe. But at least we see Skyler spend most of her time with the kids and taking care of them. Not running around cooking crystal meth and putting the whole family in danger, despite having a 1 in a million out with Gretchen and Elliot. Skyler can certainly be annoying, but Walt is ruining her relationship with Jr, inadvertently brought Tuco to his home, and continues to dive deeper into this rabbit hole. We'll see what comes of it.
your perspective on cheating is very timely. Unfortunately I had someone who cheated on me a week ago, and all My ego does is want to get back at them the same way, But honestly hearing someone say it as bluntly as you did with zero knowledge of my situation Helped me Calm down. Thank you.

The IFT line by Skyler his hilarious. I think it was written to let fans laugh at Walter, because he deserved it.
50 seconds in and our first "oh-boy" from Jade. This is the first show I have watched Jade react to. Now I'm curious if Breaking Bad is causing her adorable "oh-boy's", or is this an added perk to sharing time with Jade?
I love the IFT moment for Skyler but she definitely ceded the moral high ground.
It was pretty messed up what Skylar did, but she found herself in a pretty messed up position. She's the kind of person who likes to be in control of things, & the main thing she was in control of was Walter & their family. Then Walt slips out from under her control, so she decides to kick him outside 😢🎉of the house. Then Walt decides to come back into the house, Skylar tries to get him out again, but she doesn't have a leg to stand on. Her son hates her for doing this to his dad "for no reason". She can't bring herself to report Walt for making drugs, because she's trying to protect Walt Jr., & because she may be incriminated & wreck her own life. Now she can't seem to exert control over much of anything, in fact, she's being forced to wallow in her misery.
I believe this is the Episode that got people to hate Skyler

But Walt forced his way into their home just because Skyler didn't rat Walt out to the police. She separated from Walt. There is no intact relationship. Why wouldn't she be free to sleep with whoever she want's too?

Also you're literally the only woman I've ever seen react to this series and not completely take Skylar's side which is refreshing. Like she has a reason to be pissed and Walt isn't at all perfect especially with the scene with his boss at the school but most women treat her like a victim and him like the devil which drives me insane
