My XC90 is having its front windshield replaced Today. I was thinking that old glass is removed by breaking it into the pieces :-D It was a relief to see your video. 🙂
Luis do you have the recalibrating equipment or do you tell them to have the dealer calibrate the vehicle after you perform the installation of the new glass? Thanks for your videos I really like watching you work and I can't thank you enough for your contribution it definitely is awesome to watch a pro.
Me too. It seems like I'm coming across 1 per day at least that needs recalibrated. Some industry people I talk to think in the future they may be self calibrating but for now they don't and I also read the technology like this (ADAS) is supposed to grow by 300% so a lot more cars will need this done. It's a big opportunity but to me a big headache as well!
Is the WRD setting system better than lil buddy? Also how do u extrude the OEM urethane without an air compressor? Porsche urethane I need an air compressor, is this the same with Volvo urethane?
for Volvo its a single tubing with a little adapter to attach to the tubing inside there is the accelerator its more easy than, porches i have my compressor and the big applicator glue gun for Porsche its heavy tool . and this set up tool first two set Volvo and Audi i post next today .and works nice no weight.on glass it all.
Any tips during the installation to eliminate wind noise post installation? We have had our 2018 XC60 windshield replaced twice and each time we have wind noise post installation.
can be two things the v that s we called the urethane bed its damage when the glass is set ..or they are using the same clips on outside moldings ..are those side plastic trims ..cause in some new Lexus you can reused but are not recommended cause they losing and then make moldings catch the wind making wind noise... now for this cars Volvo one clip in the middle under the trims we called the guide are green those clips make the glass get the positions for set preventing left the glass to much to the right or the left .designed to the lane departure camera even if the clips are good but those are broken its enough to have noise. or all are broken ..

thanks joseph my work its for dealers so i send t to recalibrate to service dealer ship but im serius thinking buy one

I’ve done 3 of these and last one only took me an hour and taking care of the car
