Good review. I have the Dango D01 Dapper Pen Wallet, which is a very similar design (doesn't have the module slide-out case). I really like the wallet, and have just ordered the A10 pen wallet, but a couple of points if you're considering either one...The pen, if you don't use the lanyard or something else (I use a key ring, works great) can easily slide out of the wallet after you've had it for a few months. It loosens up is why, so you need something to prevent the pen from just falling out of the wallet (the base won't slide out, it's going out the other end that's the problem). Also, the pen itself has 3 'O' rings that keep it firmly secured in the detachable base, which can make pulling the pen out for use difficult if you don't have the lanyard to help pull on it (a key ring works even better for this).
Another issue...the little notebook that comes with the wallet. I don't use it. Instead, I take a few 3x5 cards, fold them in half, and they insert into the wallet just like the notebook. The advantage of using the 3x5 cards is that you can use them and replace them much more conveniently than the notebook. I often have a grocery list on one of those cards, and after I'm done w/the list, just take it out and toss it. With the notebook, you're stuck with whatever you've written in there until the book is full and you replace it much later. With the 3x5 cards, you can write something down and hand it to someone much more easily than doing it in the notebook and trying to tear the page out. The 3x5 card idea really makes this wallet beautifully functional for me because I always have an easy way to write something down when I'm out and about (which is not often, but it very useful when I do need it). 'Nuff said. I love the Dango wallets and give them a strong recommendation. Pricey, but well worth the cost.

This is very thorough -- excellent, helpful walk through. Suggestion though -- the lanyard is best used attached to the slots on the pen. You don't have to pull out the "cap" (or base, as you used it) at all; it just stays in the wallet, and you push the pen back into it through the pen slot. That little lanyard helps a lot with grabbing the pen. You can attach a tether or something if you like, to where you have the lanyard currently.

5 minutes in and I think I know more about a watch, a fake license, and another unrelated wallet than I do about the wallet he’s reviewing. Such a pet peeve when reviewers can’t stay focused on the review.

ive had mine for about two weeks and i love it.
gotta be careful with the rail system. you slide it in wrong, it shaves your cards.

The 1st thing I thought when I opened it was " the rail doesn't click in. It's pretty loose. "
I was expecting a release button or something.

I had an issue with this wallet when it arrived. The company stripped 2 screws during assembly. It made it had to get the screw out to change the face plate. I contacted the company and they said since I damaged the face plate (despite them being the reason) and not sending it in, they wouldn’t honor anything. No support phone number makes them seem shady too.

Just like so MENNY of today’s online vendors…

Mmmm... I guess I could get a small pocket done to put in place of the notebook to keep a few coins. Probably even use the covers to make one once it's out of pages.

The pen is absolute GARBAGE!!! The grooves where the O-rings go are so
deep, the metal there is paper thin, and breaks easily. I had it for
about 10 days, and it broke under the pressure of me WRITING!! When I
contacted them to return it, they even admitted that it's a POOR design.

Similar EDC wallet easily damages my credit cards etc. as well as not realistic on my use-case, specially using it On-the-Go that becomes an annoyance than make life easier.

You may want to look at he M1 series from Dango. It is a vertical wallet that you can get a badge holder. It was designed with those who need to use a badge for work.

@@JasonLasunowicz I know but I’m looking for an enclosed wallet with a badge holder to keep it hidden not just a badge holder to wear around my neck or have it be visible all the time. I want a discretionary wallet that holds cards money and when closed you can’t see my badge
