Love the way you came honest on this project. Missing parts, tools, calling tech assistance, following advice fm other builders... The awkwardness on Pete's look after every miss and delay was priceless. xD A true picture of a project car hit and miss.
I've got to say it baffles my mind why you guys dont already have 1M subscribers!?! you guys make amazing videos and I share everything you do. keep up the amazing work and hopefully word spreads faster for such awesome content you guys do.
the massive injectors are compensating for the very low fuel pressure. you guys need to get that fixed before you get it tuned. also the check valve in the fuel pump or at the pressure regulator doesnt seem to be working. i would start with the pressure regulator. The low fuel pressure is likely due to the pressure regulator, just adjust it up. grab your laptop and adjust for 1000cc injectors and try it again. good job guys. I move from Sudbury to Markham at the end of the month, hope to see you guys at some track days!
+Lee Forget We'll be dialing in the fuel pressure at the dyno as the lower pressure right now is helping to reduce fuel so the engine is at least running.
There's simply no need to, this has already been test with many turbo build, and the difference is usually a couple hp (in favor of no filter). A setup similar to the airbox>itbs on the older e46s would be the best, sucking in dust and shit does have a noticeable difference on the internals when it's time to rebuild.
Great stuff! This project is really neat & cool. Please, keep this engine NA, that's what it's been made for and that's the essence of this car!!(side note: it seems the thread pattern on the front tyres is inverted, left wheel should go right side and vice-versa)
You guys can use black oxide stainless fasteners if you want rust free black hardware. Can be a bit tricky to find. It costs like 170 for a batch run of them if you can't find um but want them bad.
A better way to do the wiring is to put the pin on the stock wire directly. That way you don't have an extra connection to fail. I would also open a hatch in the hood above the ITB's to supply fresh air.
Why didn't you cut the wires close to the old injector clips. then put the new pins onto the original wires? Would look so factory, and would probably last longer.
for some dope ass crimps for cheap buy non insulated ones in bulk along with heatshrink. I've found them to be the cleanest crimp method. nobody likes brokeboi wiring especially on the track.
Does ID make injector conversion clips like RC and other manufacturers do? Those are convenient for not having to cut and splice your harness if you ever need to go back to the OEM injectors.
I wonder how good the Jenvey ITB's would work with a rotrex supercharger kit. I think it would have great throttle response for a FI engine (and I just love the idea of centrifugal superchargers).
+Jelle Watch vids from owners of Rotrex cars. EVERYONE mentions how sharp the throttle response is. There is no lag whatsoever. While it would be cool, it is pointless if you are just after throttle response.
Great work guys... I love every episode that you guys put out. :)... May I suggest organizing your youtube homepage by project car? make playlist for each project?....
Check the engine code. It's on a sticker on the front or stamped into the side of the block under the intake. If it's before serial #F20C 1102 5386, then you may want to consider upgrading the banjo bolts for the oil squirters in the engine. If not, tracked or forced induction S2k's could suffer from oil starvation. I don't know that it is proven, but it's worrisome enough that Honda apparently had a recall in Europe and changed the design. Would be a very cheap safety precaution. More info is here: www.s2ki.com/s2000/topic/102067-oil-bolt-install-w-pics/page__unlockUserAgent__1
Do you guys often have any really cool costumer builds? Because I think some of those would be awesome to see as well on the side, though I'm sure the video making at least doubles the effort. Also can I get the song name used in this vid?
Random question? We have American food in the US cheese burgers fry's that sort of thing. Do you guys have Canadian food? I know its random but what would that be?
This channel is better than any television show about modifying and repair that I've seen in the last 10 - 15 years . Keep up the great work !!
Out of all the car channels on RUclips, Speed Academy is by far my favorite. You guys are so thorough and enjoyable to watch
Thanks so much, we appreciate the kind words.
Love the way you came honest on this project.

It's also great to see PT back in the shop, the dynamic between all of you guys is great.

Im am super excited for the build on this car!! It's a wet dream!!
Pete doesn't miss a trick! What a machine man. ;)
I've got to say it baffles my mind why you guys dont already have 1M subscribers!?! you guys make amazing videos and I share everything you do. keep up the amazing work and hopefully word spreads faster for such awesome content you guys do.
+steve goodwin Thanks so much! We're trying hard to build a bigger audience so thank you for sharing our stuff, it definitely helps!
If you know anything about being a mechanic than its real easy to figure out.
Great job guys, don't forget to sync those throttlebodys :)
I used a cheap STE Synchrometer on mine, it's really quick and easy to use.
i'm in love with this car
I am loving this build, along with all the other amazing stuff you guys do, really love it all. the Badass2000 is really starting to become a beast!
Can´t wait for that dyno run!
It sounds brilliant! Can't wait to see what this setup can do, and to really hear that VTEC scream!

Gawd the sound! Can't wait to hear her scream on the dyno.
do a itb filter vs itb w/o filter comparison on the dyno! myth busters yo
There's simply no need to, this has already been test with many turbo build, and the difference is usually a couple hp (in favor of no filter). A setup similar to the airbox>itbs on the older e46s would be the best, sucking in dust and shit does have a noticeable difference on the internals when it's time to rebuild.
I see that the datsun is getting so love!
Can't wait to see it at the track!
This car is way too cool for some reason! it's like every mod I want to do to my miata

You guys are so awesome! Thank you for bringing us these video, they are true gems. I look forward to that jar of fart Pete.
Fuck yea! good to see you guys again... and most importantly one step closer to the BADASS2000 been finished!
Great stuff! This project is really neat & cool. Please, keep this engine NA, that's what it's been made for and that's the essence of this car!!(side note: it seems the thread pattern on the front tyres is inverted, left wheel should go right side and vice-versa)
This channel is incredible. Htf do they not even have 100k subs? You'll get there super soon. With content like this no doubt
that hat looks dope can't wait for the next video
It's ok Pete, the weather is getting nicer here in Canada :)
Nice fitbit! hahaha. that damn thing always gets in the way when I'm working on my S2.
+Michael Harvey Ive scratched it up one too many times now working on cars. :(
You guys can use black oxide stainless fasteners if you want rust free black hardware. Can be a bit tricky to find. It costs like 170 for a batch run of them if you can't find um but want them bad.
+Brett Himeda Dang, that's pricey. We are thinking we'll just paint them body color and see how that looks.
A better way to do the wiring is to put the pin on the stock wire directly. That way you don't have an extra connection to fail.
I would also open a hatch in the hood above the ITB's to supply fresh air.
yes this the best method
The placement of the injectors on the ITBs necessitates extending the wires. Otherwise I wouldve wired them on directly.
Why didn't you cut the wires close to the old injector clips. then put the new pins onto the original wires? Would look so factory, and would probably last longer.
+Lawrence Selly Issue is the wires were too short so I had to extend them to reach the injectors.
for some dope ass crimps for cheap buy non insulated ones in bulk along with heatshrink. I've found them to be the cleanest crimp method. nobody likes brokeboi wiring especially on the track.
Yesssa'!!! I love this series. Thank you thank u
Does ID make injector conversion clips like RC and other manufacturers do? Those are convenient for not having to cut and splice your harness if you ever need to go back to the OEM injectors.
+inspyral02 They do but we opted for the plugs, the OEM wiring was too short so we had to add the extra wires.
We're going to the dyno!!
IT HAS AWOKEN!!!!
This was like waiting for Christmas as a child
YESS!! Now.. we need some S14 videos pls! love you pete.. xoxo P.S. need a speed academy simple pocket tee pls!
+Theonlyj2kk Working on the S14 so a video will be good to go soon! And will try to add a pocket tee shirt.
yess! thanks x2 boys :) Simple shirts is all I rock haha would be sick to have one, thanks dudes.
Sounds so badass!!
Clip adapters would have been so very convenient! Regardless...it's alive!!
cant wait for the dyno vids. lets hear that vtec transition
+Slow AP1 We're hoping its going to sound amazing!
No turbo!! keep it N/A!! maybe try a dry sump system? That'd be very cool to see the comparisons for a track car :D
Damn that's a nice battery tie down! ;)
OMFG FINALLY!!!!!! I've been waiting for a new BadAss2000 vid for-fuckin-ever! Lol
IT'S ALIVE!!!... kinda... WOOT WOOT!!!

+ilke tama We'll talk about those on the dyno.
It's back!
Hurry up and get to the dyno!
Hey guys, will you be at CSCS at Mos on the 15th?
+arumrunner Doubtful but our schedule may change!
I use 1970cc x 4 injectors in my little rotary :)
Sounds amazing
Are you guys coming to Grid life? Bring the BAS2k!!
Yeeeeesss, I want to hear that vtec goodness!!
+Balo657 We can't wait either!
that sounded badass :D
Sounds great! raise the base pressure on that regulator
+innes887 The plan is to adjust everything at the dyno.
Great work guys... I love every episode that you guys put out. :)... May I suggest organizing your youtube homepage by project car? make playlist for each project?....
+Tony Nguyen We have our videos organized by project car, maybe it's not being displayed like that?
+Speed Academy ya. weird. it just shows recent videos

I’m just here for the S2000 content 😊👍
Do you guys often have any really cool costumer builds? Because I think some of those would be awesome to see as well on the side, though I'm sure the video making at least doubles the effort. Also can I get the song name used in this vid?
Cant wait!!!

Nice work ,when are you coming ho England to work on my mk2 Golf?
+Matumbo mabeco When we win the lottery :)
Random question? We have American food in the US cheese burgers fry's that sort of thing. Do you guys have Canadian food? I know its random but what would that be?
+Blake's Garage Lol yeah Poutine and Beaver Tails are the first that come to mind.
***** Ahh yeah I forgot about that. Anything else?
+Blake's Garage pancakes and ham (canadian bacon)
+Blake's Garage We have ketchup chips!! :)
Speed Academy Ok now i'm hungry I need those! Just checked amazon $29.00 USD for 3 bags WTF guess I need to roll out to Canada.
Google "Solder Butts", they are a heat shrink with solder in them that you can fit using just a heat gun, best of both worlds.....
