I don't think the Kane take works with Bayern. Bayern's decline last season was already happening before that. They only won on goal difference in 22/23. I think the unnecessary manager drama and player instability was more of a factor, coupled with Leverkusen and Stuttgart having an amazing (deserved)overachieving season. It doesn't feel the same as Tottenham Kane. But I will concede he needs to show up for big games.
That Kane take was so accurate. Missed last week's episode so I accidentally gave myself a double episode, it is what it is. Samuel's face when hearing htat Gravenberch take had me rollinnnnn 🤣🤣 I can't tell you who got the cleanest hairline until I see MJ without the duey, but right now Danai's hairline is impeccable
I'm obviously biased as a Spurs fan, but regarding the Kane take I would ask whether he's holding those teams back by making them "Kane-centric" or whether he's taking them further than they realistically should've gone. There's very few (if any) players who I think you could swap with Harry Kane on any of those Tottenham, Bayern, or England teams that I think would make the teams better. I don't think you can really use this Euros and Watkins/Toney as an example since he was playing hurt and Southgate was coaching. TAA is potentially the best passing wingback in football and doesn't play RB the whole tournament so instead of linking up through balls and crosses to Kane, we got Kyle Walker running sprints up and down one wing while no one is on the other because Jude and Foden drift inside and Trippier pulls up instead of getting to the byline because he doesn't know that he's allowed to pass with his left foot lol
Had to make sure I comment so you can't say Tottenham fans only talk when we win lol. Props to Arsenal for the win and I agree Saliba and Gabriel played amazing. I don't think we lost because of Cuti though. We play a style where we try to win 4-3 and not 1-0, so our back line holding a top team like Arsenal to 1 goal is a success in my opinion and we need to do more up top. I don't think there is any reason to panic though. We're 1 year away from losing the best player in our team's history and in the second year of our rebuild with a new coach, and this was our biggest summer signing's second match with the team and he was coming off injury. Arteta finished 8th, 8th, 5th in his first 3 years as manager of Arsenal and given time has turned them into a top 2 team in the prem. Ange finished 5th in his first year, so can we give him time before hating? I think he's done well all things considered. It's going to get meme'd but changing us from a squad who never wins because "Lads it's Tottenham" to saying to the media "I always win things" is a much needed mentality shift at the club
The Hot takes sesh is good
