First of all, this is not chain drive. This is belt driven. Even, Harley Davidson use belt drives. Belt driven is better than Hub motors. Hub motors are very torquey and isn't that well refined. They are also more susceptible to damage in Indian road conditions.

Use silicone spray that’s the ideal lube which will keep the belts in good shape and prevent cracking from uv and stress
