  • Very sad condition, old and forgotten, but also very much defective, I was able to get a little bit life in it, but lets face it, nothing really ended working within the time frame i could invest in this one.
But it was still fun to look inside, i had a bit fun to see melting tantalium comming out of little red capacitor, that was cool..

I use auto generated subs, i am sorry there are a few spelling errors,
maybe one day they can do it better..

Hi Thomas, I would say logic thing is to feed the calibrator out to the measurement input, guess they split it to be more versatile.

Liquid is silver, which is used to contact the oxide film in the capacitor.

The rechargeable batteries and charger are probably there to allow ground loop and mains capacitance free operation. Maybe the power supply is unhappy with nothing to charge and/or using the batteries as smoothing?

Date codes say 1980's, and I would say those Frako capacitors are all toast.

    ICs have 1977 date codes.
