I paid my taxes owing (as the result of an audit) but they still deducted the same amount from my return. How do I get them to pay me back since the owing amount has been paid twice? Everytime I call they just say "we're looking into it".

Before delving into the Income Tax Act Canada one must first ask whether or not there was compliance with s. s. 53-54 of the Constitution Act 1867! The answer is: NO! It is purely voluntary!

What gives the government the right to take so much off over your pay. Its not like the government has earned your income for you!

The legal reason why your income is being taxed is because your income is earned on Canadian soil within Canada. Or simply put: You just cannot earn the income without the support of Canada.
