I was given my grandmother's cast iron pans and dutch oven when my mom decided she didn't want to cook with them anymore (too heavy). I hated them at first because of the care they needed. Now that I have learned how to use them properly they are awesome. I would like to try other materials though so I can't wait to see what you do! Love your videos!!!
This is excellent. Cast iron does need a whole lot of Maintenance and care but they will literally last you forever. That being said sometimes nonstick is a lot more convenient with a trade-off of quality... Sometimes it's worth it sometimes it's not.
Damn I thought I was the bearded youtuber you were referring too... Who's that babish guy?? Great list brother. Entertaining walk through your new kitchen! Almost to 1K congrats!
I am not a fan of non-stick pans. My pain problem problem with it is that the coating has a limited lifespan, so if you cook a lot with it won't last a long time. Our pans seem to only last a year or two. Not to mention, you also need separate utensils for it. So now we have two of everything! I've found as long as you use a little oil and cook at the proper temperature, sticking isn't an issue with stainless. A side by side comparison between stainless steel, nonstick and cast iron would be pretty interesting.
Hack 'n Build brave man! It's true that nonstick pans don't last forever (exhibit A: the skillet in the video). My pots and pans I have have a titanium alloy so it's a little safer to use metal utensils on and they have a lifetime guarantee, so it makes me feel a tiny bit better. Newbies may have a tougher time with SS pots, as I certainly did, and there are some applications of nonstick that make them better (e.g. scrambled eggs). The comparison would definitely be interesting. I can tell you that a good all-clad set would outperform pretty much anything in terms of longevity and quality--but they're PISS EXPENSIVE! I don't even know if I'd trust myself with a whole set of SS, I have to have my nonstick. Maybe one day though.
I "upgraded" some pans a few years ago. I looked in to getting All-Clad, I eventually decided to go with Cuisinart. I have a few pots and pans from their professional and multiclad series. Pretty happy with them. Frying pans: I have a lower end "Chef's Classic" and a large 12" or 14" generic pan. It's easy to stick scrambled eggs either of with those pans, but it can be done. I am not bothered enough to upgrade. I typically go for either those pans for scrambled eggs.
Best place to shop for kitchen tools is a restaurant and bar supply store. I buy all my kitchen tools from restaurant supplies. Good tools at a reasonable price.
Mr Krasker you know I have yet to go to a good one? I need to find one around here. Are there chains for that sort of thing or is it just individual stores all the way down?
You can get a great knife/tool sharpener for under $10 at the hardware store. They're super easy to use and it only takes a few seconds to get your knife razor sharp. Mine happens to be made by "Accusharp" if it helps.
Tipsy Wok nah - i didnt think of anything i lacked. But now i csme to think about something i use often - a stainless strainer - but maybe you showed one :)
I DID! I actually filmed saying that I used the towels on the oven as holders but cut it out due to time, but you're absolutely right. Also I went out and bought both of those a few days ago.
This sort of thing tends to follow the rule of Pick Two: Quality - Price - Speed. Such a thing CAN be possible, but it may take you a while to wait and find. You can look in restaurant supply stores, clearance sections (I got a couple really good ones at Target!)... What is your budget and what kind of cooking are you looking to do?
it's way too specific i know, but there's use to be a series online called "James Deen Loves Food" and it was in a kitchen that's VERY similar to yours. If you live in the valley in Los Angeles, it just might be.
You should put a warning to go pee first as I laughed so hard at your explanations on how altinate uses can be done with kitchen tools (and mothers). I have been cooking for many years and let tell you when buying measuring cups look for one with a seamless or very close handle to rim for easier leveling with a knife across the top. Thanks for the info and giggle. 😉

You're so great man, keep up the great work!
THANK YOU. I really appreciate it! Thanks for stopping by!
Dude, your channel's gonna go places. Your videos are phenomenal!
Thank you very much! This means a lot to me.
Great vid!
Thank you very much! I'm not perfect so if you ever have any feedback on anything please let me know!

I have bought a few things from www.bakedeco.com/ I have had good luck with them in the past. Fast shipping on in stock items.
Mr Krasker yes Rick totally agree. I lose my mind when I'm in one and God help me if I have to go to a lowes or home depot.

I seriously laughed out loud at least... twice
five times now
YEAH YOU BETTER HAVE
Good summary mate.
Superfunny too :)
Lasse's Food and Barbecue Thanks! I probably left something out so if you notice anything let me know eh?
Tipsy Wok nah - i didnt think of anything i lacked.
But now i csme to think about something i use often - a stainless strainer - but maybe you showed one :)
YES! A fine mesh strainer, which I purchased recently and forgot to mention- DIFFERENT from a colander.
Awesome video, bro! But you forgot oven mits/potholders. 🙂
I DID! I actually filmed saying that I used the towels on the oven as holders but cut it out due to time, but you're absolutely right. Also I went out and bought both of those a few days ago.
Tipsy Wok Nice!
I find it so difficult to find a good pan in a tight budget. Is such a thing possible?

Tipsy Wok great advice on clearance and restaurant supply my thought on pots to cook in is if you can squeeze it don't buy it. 😲
So I'm blaming you when lil wok complains about our room being full of cooking supplies
Jason McFeeley Blame away! It's not like he's not used to it 😂
I swear this kitchen reminds of the kitchen of the popular food series from acclaimed porn site Woodrocket's "James Deen Loves Food"
i'm sorry what.... what is such a thing... you know, for science.
it's way too specific i know, but there's use to be a series online called "James Deen Loves Food" and it was in a kitchen that's VERY similar to yours. If you live in the valley in Los Angeles, it just might be.
Zach Digital I looked it up. Oh God why.
While similar, his has a sink in the island and more wood. Which is appropriate. Cause it's James Deen.
yeah yours is way nicer my bad

sorry, is that too late?
And yes! I had initially put that info in but cut it due to time- shows how little I know about baking!
Tipsy Wok carry on I'll as just go first lucky I'm a loo watcher and was already seated 🤔 ........errrr t.m.i. right 😂😂
