This was a really good movie to sit and watch, I highly recommend it to everyone. This is the first movie I believe Jackie Chan didn’t play a bumbling fool
Not like this, no, but it's obvious this is a work of fiction very loosely based on history. It likely references stories of soldiers who fought like Romans on the frontier of Parthia and China. It was believed these were the remnants of the legions Crassus brought when he tried to invaded Parthia, likely having been pressed into the service of the Parthians. But it's also true Roman merchants and private citizens DID make treks to as far as China. Not whole empires and certainly not Roman Emperors.
those costumes were just bad, not a lick of historical accuracy, Romans soldiers didn't wear blue, though I get them wanting to make it clear who the "bad guys" were. would say much about the acting, but the scene with Jackie having to mercy ki ll his friend, was pretty heart wrenching. though having the eagles arrive, such a ripe off from Tolkien.
Bro I got tiired looking at the comment sections complaining the historical inaccuracies of the Roman legion when its a movie about action, not a historical movie. Yall are like comparing fantasy novels to a real historical events. Like are yall dumb?
This was not even anywhere close to a Roman Legion, doesn't even look like them and all of their battle tactics are unrealistic, their weapons and armor. Also random but they don't look like Romans. This channels just spitting false knowledge because he doesnt know what to say.
In reality the Romans never used crossbows, and their primary weapon was the gladius a short sword
👍👍👍👍
Which is a pity, because mass archer volleys are a good counter to horse archers who the legions struggled to deal with.
They did use crossbows called Arcuballista
That is correct. In fact it was the Chinese that first invented it
@@cuttermasterson The Romans did use crossbows in the late roman era
The part when the Romans used crossbows is another level 😂
😂😂😂😂😂

Thank you for your recognition.
I'd recommend another movie The Myth 2005 where Jackie Chan has a dual role

Red was the overall color but romans wore purple, red, green, blue depends on the family.
Different Legions also wore different colors at different time period from Early Roman Republic-Late Roman Empire
