Flyann for a heads up, you will NEED Corvin for this... he carried me throughout my Bringer of Chaos Playthrough and I don’t think it would’ve been possible without him. Certain bosses that may have been a breeze in regular difficulty become insane for literally no reason, and most of the time I won bosses it was off of straight luck. Best of Luck to You!
Same here! Except I didn’t use Corvin as much as crossette, I combined crossette’s crazy damage with mythra’s foresight. That made nia with crossette into dps, tank, and healer lol
@@PenguinTr4sh I tried using crossete but the heals she gave wasn’t enough for early game so I just gave up on her and let Corvin carry with crit healing/Evasion
I tried saving Corvin for Morag, but then Malos and Akhos happened, and I quickly decided Rex was looking like a better driver for him.
@@YOM2_UB you get so many overdrive protocols from the dlc anyways I just thought it was worth it to pull him on Rex before he gets mythra then switch him onto morag in chapter 4
Im currently on my fresh bringer of chaos playthrough and Im at the world tree at the moment and didnt use any DLC Blades yet, so it certainly is possible. But yeah, its pretty difficult. I'm more scared of postgame.

can I get some tips and tricks for NG BOC? especially early game? I can do normal mode challenges just fine, I feel like I understand the game. But when playing BOC I get wrecked so hard it almost feels like RNG sometimes.
Have you beaten Elma Redux? Elma overdrive is GODLY in Bringer of Chaos
Considering he's playing on NG BoC, I think its safe to say that he won't have access to Shulk/Fiora/Elma for this run

Because apparently hitting your head a hundred times vs a boss brings more viewership than playing another game like xcx lmao Don't get me wrong I like flyann's streams but he's said a few times that XCX is a grindy game / not "stream friendly" without actually playing it, and realizing that grinding isn't even required to complete the main story or most sidequests.
Views and what's relevant. XBC2 is more relevant now because of Smash.

@@HeroC14 yeah that's fair, everything XC2 related has been getting a lot of views lately. Popular streamers are playing the game for the first time and many others are coming back to the game and looking for content about it.
The game is broken. Can't access a ton of features unless the servers are up and a lot of people play it.

I tried this difficulty once. Suffered against 1st Malos fight for about an hour or 2 even after grinding eventually gave up and switched to what I call "Braindead Difficulty" on custom because I just wanted the Malos fight to be over already.
I love to see people still playing this awesome game one of my favs!!!!

There are so many aspects to this game that only reveal themselves in Bringer of Chaos on a fresh file that it honestly feels like a completely different game. You don't even notice all the directional counters from random enemies in the other difficultues. Also having to make use of Blades secondary abilities like Nia's debuff cancel against Aion's heal blocking move, makes it that much more involved.
Bringer of Chaos NG honestly turned Aion from one of the most boring final bosses into one of the best I've ever encountered in a game.
Also don't cheese it with DLC blades, or you can just ignore all the mechanics as usual because of how busted the DLC blades are.
Just as a note, rage strikes aren't necessarily the first art the enemy uses after enraging, sometimes the rage strike happens a bit later, which is something to watch out for.
I had forgotten that Bringer of Chaos was a thing since the last time I played, I should definitely do that when I replay the game in some eventual xenoblade marathon.

The regular base game in normal was tough on my first playthrough. There is nothing quite like Xenoblade 2 and 3. I can't wait to do another playthrough of these amazing games.

As someone who played this game on BoC base game. The hardest fight is the fucking Brog boss at the start once you get three party members its, a lot easier

Ouch! I will be sticking with Normal mode for now since at least I can actually win battles against most enemies without too many problems depending on the setup of course. I will be attempting Bringer Of Chaos during my New Game Plus playthrough after I first play Torna the Golden Country on Normal Mode.
Doing Bringer of Chaos on a fresh save is absolute hell
Good fun though once you get the stuff you need and suffer through the start
I just overleveled like crazy in this mode, and it became pretty manegable... The only real roadblocks were actualy one after another for me!
3 points of the story kicked my ass, and it felt like not even overleveling and just out-agility everything would work!
1: The entire Spirit Crucible Elpys! This place is balldragingly annoying and slow already, but on BoC it became freaking Fire Emblem Three Houses on Maddening, where every enemy had to be taken out with pinpoint accuracy, or you were basicly guaranteed to lose someone right away.
2: Getting to rescuing Pyra/Mythra right after that, with the first fight against completed Malos taking a few attempts, but he was ultimatly pretty easy... Not so with the second fight when Jin joins in on the fight! I was 10 levels higher than them, and it took me, no joke, 46 attempts with different setups to advance to the second half of the fight, where you become invincible...
3: Going solo with rex and Jin right after that, and having basicly every enemy miss you a ton, but if even a few hits from the SWARM of enemies actually got through, you would die basicly no matter what...
And that was basicly it... The rest of the game worked out nicely, and most of the rest of my deaths were either from bad luck, timing or just a dumb mistake on my part. BoC is NOT easy, but i would still rather do that again than do Fire Emblem Three Houses on Maddening one more time!

so for all who want to try bringer of caos playthrough a tipp for the shark at the beginning. don't use nia if you use 3 dps units you do enough damage that you win before you die. nias healing is pitifull so your just prolonging the inevitable with her thats why it worked in the end without her.

I've been playing BoC in NG+ (admittedly nerfing myself to be more in line with a new playthrough), and it is honestly just BS at times. So many of the fights are just up to pure RNG whether you win, and enemies are buffed by much more than the description states.
Enemies with any AOE attack will just one- shot your entire party as soon as they get rage strike, and what's worse is that they will also completely drain your party gauge so that if anyone survives, they cannot help revive teammates anyways. The chain attack damage multiplier is also for some reason not just halfed, but cut to 1/3 of what's normal, and at the same time, Burst Symbols are completely disabled so there is literally no way to increase your chain attack damage. This means chain attacks are literally good for nothing except a panic button to dodge a single enemy's attack, and you will deal more damage outside of a chain attack that within one.
Enemy attack frequency is also much higher, but what you're not told is that unlike normal mode where 80% of enemy attacks are auto attacks, and only 20% are the enemy using their arts/ specials. In BoC, that ratio is flipped on its head, and 80% of enemy attacks are arts/ specials, and only 20% of attacks are auto attacks. So essentially, they get both a huge health buff, damage buff, an attack frequency buff, a buff allowing them to constantly use their strongest attacks instead of their weak ones, as well as a rage strike buff, allowing them to one- shot anyone in your party, while simultaneously draining the party gauge so your party member cannot be revived.
I particularily struggled with the Akhos and Malos fight in Olethro Ruins, because they have the ability to both shackle your drivers and shackle your blades, so unless you have items to resist this effect, they will just instantly shackle everyone, and there is nothing you can do except stand there, letting them kill you while your entire party is immobilized. I honetly don't believe this fight is even possible without either grinding until you are way above their level, or if you are playing NG+ and have grinded for items in your previous playthrough, so that you have shackle resistance on your whole party.
This is the mode I played in my first playthrough.

Im doing a NG+ with the BoC difficulty, and i dropped all my lvls in the inn so i can progress again through the game instead of smashing everything with 1 art.
So far is quite fun the extra difficulty adds to the game.
Even on full custom difficulty in NG+ if you maxed your previous game everything gets one shotted even dropping level to 1. Unless you removed all your chips etc?
@@themelon7112 I swapped to Blades i didn't use on my first run, so no trust bonuses, once i started getting that trust i started oneshoting everything.
@@unlimitedslash ahh right. Yeah you really need to get rid of all aux cores and accessories, chips and release all your blades for it to be fun. I just sold everything at start and doing full custom difficulty. It’s pretty nutty. But I have every single blade maxed so when i get them again they are maxed affinity but wouldnt be possible without that I don’t think. Characters too of-course maxed almost
I tried some of the challenge battles on this difficulty. Tried. Did not succeed. And that's with a completely stacked party. Not even Tyrannotitan Kurodil posed a real threat, but those challenge battles are something else entirely.
I'll have to try out a fresh playthrough on this difficulty. I already have in mind some party comps, but no idea if they'll pan out. Corvin seems like an obvious choice. Crosette is universally good. I wonder if you can get Elma before beating the game, since her battle is L60. Sucks that you can't bring Shulk or Fiora.

heres a tip for you, ive done bringer of chaos fresh new game before up to tantal, and i only stopped because i started playing other games and forgot about itm but crosette is a fucking savior. she deals so much damage she often struggles not being aggrod, but its incredibly helpful because her damage can reach some insane numbers and really take out a huge amount of health

Mythra Fart Compilation
Not even custom difficulty cranked up to max for enemy hp and damage and lowering everything good about yourself is as hard as bringer of chaos. Really wish there was a mode that wasn't lunatic plus in Xenoblade. Also you can beat this mode freshly without luck as long as you are the right levels and have the correct pouch items but if you want to beat it without dlc you need to draw some blades like percival and Flora. Malos and Akhos become a 3 hour fight too on this difficulty without dlc blades. Recommend going this route if you want a hard time cause corvin makes anything significantly easier and same with Crossette.

What kind of advantages do you have on NG+?
@@zack-ronald259Having access to all your blades + all their skills (you don’t have to unlock em all again) and all the items (accessories & aux cores) that you gained from past playthroughs. So you can bring basically all your good party setups as soon as you get the rest of the drivers w/ their levels as they were when you beat the game previously (unless you level down). So basically unless you nerf yourself down, you’re pretty powerful and much more equipped for Bringer of Chaos’s bullshittery
BoC is way to easy in NG+ with all your stuff. Down level to 1 and remove all chips and aux cores. Will still be too easy if you maxed out all affinity charts@@zack-ronald259
or just use custom mode cause thats what flyann used in flylocke
I think a few levels could have made a difference because you’re low level so it would be a bigger change in your stats and also levels are important in Xenoblade games

BoC is easy mode, the real challenge is full custom difficulty. Half way through my first run.
At the start I sold absolutely everything in my inventory (Took forever) and got rid of all the blades I could (Left with Elma, Shulk, Fiora) etc. Removed everything off all my blades and just used what i could buy and looted from there, obviously also delevelled to 1 and only use inns to level up to match the level of certain bosses if required but so far only had to do that for elder arachno because Nia is braindead and can't help but stand in front of termination blast when she isn't even being targeted.
Selling all my stuff got me over 20mil coins and obviously all my blades I did have and future ones i got/get were/will be maxed affinity but it wouldn't even be possible without that and characters being maxed-ish. Also didn't use Mythra until she was "Unlocked" great fun to keep things fresh if you are committed enough. I do miss not being able to do burst and full burst combos though but will tweak that for end game.
You should try Shin megami tensei
Bringer of chaos crosses the line from difficult but fair into just not being fun. One of the main reason is rage strike. It depletes your party gauge and the next attack does 300% more damage and every single enemy can use it. BoC flies in the face of game wanting to make sure every blade is useful. You are pretty much required to stick with top tier blades or have enel level of know how to use other blades to progress.
