What did you think of ETERNALS? Let me know in the comments!!
I quite liked it I understand why it's hated by some people but I still like it. Honestly Druig was my favorite character outside of Karoum cause picking him would be like asking why would win in a fight A Celestial or some random guy just chilling on a park bench
Love Druig! And I really like Karun, too!
The main issue I have with the Eternals is that the *entire* movie felt like it was exposition leading into another movie. It didn't feel like it was a standalone, it didn't feel like the conflict in the movie was resolved or even all that important to the story. It felt like it was the middle movie in a trilogy where we didn't get the first or third movies.
Interesting, thanks for sharing!! I personally disagree, but I understand where you're coming from. I think for me, the exposition worked very well within this movie and I thought the ending felt satisfying (Celestial sticking out of the ocean notwithstanding). But then again, I have differing views from many on what I consider a "complete" movie, so totally fine if we disagree on this point (I think Across the Spider-Verse and Dune: Part 1 both feel VERY incomplete, but I know I'm in the minority on that). Thanks again for sharing your thoughts!
i always wished i found the community that appreciates this movie like i do. this movie is one of my favorite messages told in the mcu. my only complaint was execution and the script. it could’ve been more than just its silly bits, but i appreciate how aspiring was with phenomenal vfx visuals.
That's awesome! Yeah, I personally really like this movie and I know a lot of people who do (and don't! But that's okay!). So glad you enjoy the movie, thanks for sharing your thoughts!!
@@AccessBlockbusters of course!!! and it’s personally one of my favorites too! you did a great job with this video. 🤍
I'm so glad it is!! Thank you so much for your kind words as well :)
I agree with so much of this! The moral dilemma that each of the Eternals face was so impactful to me. The way that each of them grapples with the toppling of their faith and belief system creates such a unique conflict that we don't really see that much in the MCU. The moral struggle they all face creates an interesting dynamic between the characters and raises cool questions about morality, obligation, and loyalty to a cause/ your family.
I also agree that the cinematography and character design of Eternals sets it apart from the rest of the MCU in a brilliant way. The story FEELS epic with its extensive lore and timeline, so it makes sense that the visuals would reflect that nature of the story.
Great video!
So glad you enjoy the movie like me!! I think even if people didn't like the movie, there's a space for a different kind of MCU film that feels deeper and richer, and I really do hope there's a sequel. Thank you so much for commenting and sharing your thoughts!!
Exactly all the reasons why I loved this film! The story and cinematography were beautiful.
Totally agree :)
From the moment Pink Floyd’s “Time” started playing, I knew the filmmakers (Zhao, Feige etc) spoke my language 😊 never doubted the film.
Awesome!! So glad you liked it!
The best part of Merkari is how the CGI team portrayed speedsters using their power.
Really good point! I loved how they portrayed Makkari's speed!
Ikaris did more superman than any superman movie did
Visually, I think he definitely did resemble Superman for sure!
Love the movie. Am waiting for part 2. Only criticism was the death of Gilgamesh and the introduction of Starfox. I hope they have a serious Thor in movie 2 if they decide to make it.
So glad you love it!! And Thor in Eternals 2 would be fun!
Despite the mixed reviews from the film, the sequel was cancelled/transformed into a Celestial-centered project or the storyline transferred to the development of Thor 5. The film would’ve been better if it was presented in 4:3 aspect ratio like the 2021 rerelease to BVS & ZSJL. I still like the film luckily.
Interesting! I know there a lot of rumors about "Eternals 2" but I don't think anything's been confirmed. I don't think the aspect ratio for me has ever changed my enjoyment of a film but I respect that it would for you! Thanks for sharing your thoughts!!
ITS BEEN THREE FREEKING YEARS?????!!!?!?!
Just about!! The time is flying by!!
eternals is the last marvel movie and even show that I truly enjoyed, with the exception of gotg3.
I always thought it's the most unique out of all the marvel movies, less quirky humor and beautiful cinematic and the combat scene always felt intense. No idea why it got all the hate tbh
So glad you enjoyed it! I really like the movie as well!
I read the comics initially and although I knew they would change stuff to make it more modern I felt they lost some of the epicness of the comic story lines.
So I came in with higher expectations and was met with a messy port.
I don't totally hate it like some people but I am not motivated to rewatch either and that is rare.
Totally fair! Glad you were able to share your perspective, we don't get too many people on the channel who've read the original comics. Thanks so much for sharing your thoughts!
This movie right away became the barometer to use for if something was REALLY terrible we saw for me and my friend of "Well it wasn't as bad as the Eternals." I struggled to stay wake during this movie, it was somehow 3 hours long and yet it felt like none of the characters had been fleshed out at all. It sits somewhere on my top 10 worst movies I have ever seen, just not sure where exactly.
And that's totally fair! The movie is not going to hit us the same ways, and that's why they're pieces of art--but I really appreciate you taking the time to share your thoughts with us! Thanks for sharing!
Great video as always!
It's an average/mid movie to me with hella plotholes, but never thought it was bad and can still rewatch it and find some enjoyment in it.
It has a different feel and vibe for the MCU that I rlly like bout it.
Post credit scene with Blade is dope af.
Totally fair! I remember we talked about the movie way back when it came out (can you believe it was nearly 3 years ago?). It's a movie that doesn't hit for everyone, and in this case, I think that's totally fine and the MCU should take some risks in that vein. Also yes, the Blade scene was great, but man... where is he??? Hopefully we see Ali before 2026..
@@AccessBlockbusters Fr 2021 MCU was such a fun era and seems like so long ago.
I'm dying for this Blade movie, man. If it makes no significant progress this year, they just gotta can it 😭
Yeah.. I’m just ready for Feige to have a fresh start after the Multiverse Saga if he still even wants to do this. Imagining what he could do with a Mutant Saga if he had the kind of control he did w the Infinity Saga is so exciting
Yeah I feel like things will be more cohesive and overall stronger in the next Saga, which is said to be the Mutant Saga. Chapek gone, no demand of excessive output. It'd be nice for Marvel to be universally loved again lol. @@AccessBlockbusters
100 percent. At least DC should be making a comeback soon
This movie defiantly got more hate then it should have
I agree!! But I get that it was a different kind of MCU movie--I'd still LOVE to see a sequel though!
Two films that both bored me so much I turned off after half an hour. Can't wait to watch a video essay about them...
Sorry to hear that! I personally really enjoyed the film, but that's totally valid that you didn't. Thanks so much for sharing your thoughts!!
@AccessBlockbusters sorry I didn't intend to sound mean. I was laughing more at myself for clicking on the video and the irony that I was about to click away, got to me. I totally appreciate differing opinions, and know films I like can be boring to others (especially my wife)
You’re all good! Don’t worry I didn’t think you were being mean, I love to hear others opinions about movies we disagree on!
I love antman 3 and eternals🤷♂️ i rly dont get the mcu hate🙃
I'm so glad that you do!! I also get a good amount of enjoyment out of Quantumania, and as you saw in the video, enjoy Eternals quite a bit!
I didn't care for the movie, BUT it does raise the question: WAS THANOS RIGHT? By eliminating half of life in the Universe it would have staved off the Celestials. Think about it.
Very interesting point! I think the answer to that question depends somewhat on whether the Celestials become villains in the MCU. I think right now, in a very cold, unfeeling, utilitarian sense, birthing new Celestials is justified (TO THEM - not speaking for myself). I doubt Thanos was thinking about that (could be wrong! Could be retconned). So it depends, because also, it seems to me that staving off EVERY Celestial could be disastrous as well. We won't know until we get an Eternals sequel... I think the question of Thanos being "right" is more dependent on Thanos' views of overpopulation rather than his belief that birthing Celestials would be dangerous (again, could very well be retconned). Thanks for sharing your thoughts!
I honestly really like this film and honestly an clise to loving it. It ain't perfect and definitely could've been better and I understand how it ain't people's cup of tea with MCU films but I still like it. I really do hope this gets a sequel or at least a continuation
I could not agree with you more - it's not perfect, it's not in my top 10 anymore (it was actually when it came out) but I REALLY enjoy the movie as well! Thanks for sharing your thoughts!!
I thought it was an ok
Thanks for sharing your thoughts!
@@AccessBlockbusters you're welcome ab
I didnt like the Eternals movie
Sorry you didn't enjoy the movie! But thank you for taking time to share your thoughts!!
