Xyelle honestly I can't believe ITS FINALLY HERE! after 15 years of being stuck in development hell, people are shitting on this movie for a few reasons A understandably because of what happened to Brandon Lee and his accidental death on set. But mostly because people don't think a Remake is a necessary I respectfully disagree not a lot of people know that the movie is based on a graphic novel, plus there are people out there who've never even heard of The Crow remaking it now for a new generation will get people's attention and gain their curiosity about the character in general. It will get them to check out the 94 film, it will get them to check out the graphic novel, and hopefully the much underrated sequel in my book The Crow Salvation which was easily the best of sequels, Director Rupert Sanders when talking about the new movie acknowledged the death of Brandon Lee by saying "what happened to Brandon Lee was a tragedy and we very much feel his presence was with us when we were filming this we aren't trying to diminish or tarnish Lee's memory or his legacy in any way, we hope he's proud of what we've done. We very much feel Bill is a successor that". The movie has a very solid screen writer Zach Baylin who wrote movies like Creed III, Grand Turismo, and King Richard, I really think Rupert Sanders knows what he's doing and I think it shows by what he had to say about the film in a recent interview
“‘The Crow’ is the original anti-superhero,” Sanders said in a newly released statement. “His story is about tragic loss, about dealing with the pain of everything that comes with losing someone you love, something that all of us have or will encounter at some point in our lives. It is about the dark shadow of grief, about what we would do when something so meaningful is taken from us.”
He also added “The original graphic novel is deeply meaningful for so many, and the character, his journey and his need for revenge has inspired a canon of films for the last three decades. Our version goes back to that graphic novel by James O’Barr, who I had the honor of meeting shortly before production, and explores the love story as the primary drive for our film.”
Brandon Lee's memory and his legacy will always be there the original movie will always be a classic and it will always be a beloved movie, the point of remaking it is to honor Brandon Lee's memory and his legacy, by retelling this beloved story for a new generation. As long as this movie honors the roots and spirit of the original story then Lee's memory is still being honored, its like when Heath Ledger died when Joaquin Phoenix was cast as The Joker for the Joker movie the point wasn't to replace or disrespect Ledger's memory it was to do something with the character that had never been done before. To show him in a different light same thing with The Crow and the sooner more people realize this then the more the legacy of The Crow as a character can live on, I'm completely sold on this movie like you I'm not a fan at all of the tattoos I get WHY they did it. They obviously wanted to update the look and the design but a lot of people obviously have tattoos these days but it just doesn't look good on Eric but really looks like Rupert Sanders knows what he's doing I CAN'T WAIT for this movie

I think they were going closer for the look of Michael Corby from wild Justice. But it's cool that they have the sword and a version of the skull cowboy

The thing is, There's no recreating the atmosphere, the music that the original had because it's not here anymore except in the hearts and minds of those who grew up with this and aided in defining a subculture. A simple remaster or re-release would've been sufficient. The only positivity I can even have for this is that it's targeted audience goes back and watches the real deal cause at the end of the day, someone said it best that Lee in the original looked like he was a guitar player for Nine Inch Nails and this new one is like...a rapper on Soundcloud.

the look of this version of the crow is too similar to The Crow Wild Justice with the shirt off, tattoos on the body (including the nips) so I guess its eric's story but with the look of Wild Justice and I don't know how to feel about it, I think if they had change the name, would have been nice but we'll see

If they were gonna focus on Eric then they needed to play full homage. I dont like the picking and choosing.

There’s a remake of this coming!? Wow!.. I had NO idea… That’s a tall order. I hope Skarsgård has a good script to play off of.

Perhaps this new update will be something to talk about, I have faith in Bill Skarsgaard. The appearance to us, who are fans is based on the source material, book, graphic novels and original movie. Its a unique feature of the character. It is where our love of this character began and we are just giving our opinion. Thank you for sharing your point of view, and for watching my video.🙂

@Xyelle you are waaaay to nice. As for the comment, it very simple, Eric has a look, visual to his character. You should be able to look at him and say, yeah that's Eroc, that is not the case with this incarnation. For example, you can make variations on Batman or Spider-Man's costume but when you look at them you still should be able to see that it's them. They should have just based it on another character since The Crow mythos has so many. Great job Xyelle keep them coming.

I pass, there is no way they can touch the original movie, the atmosphere, the gothic feel, the aesthetic, above all Brandon Lee. Out of respect, this movie should NOT be remade, the man literally lost his life making this film, these are the movies that must not be touched like EVER. Out of respect for Lee’s family and former fiancé. I will not watch it, is not worth it to give publicity to something I consider disrespectful. Nothing against the actors btw, just my two cents here.

I hate the new look. A great disappointment to the original Crow. He should at least have long hair. 😕🤦
