I think he's a pretty extraordinary guy. Until you can actually look at that level of money and see the security it could provide for your family, because a business isn't guaranteed a next quarter. He cut his salary just to 80k, barely more than his min wage. People have coworkers with the same job title who make larger amount more than this guys pays his call service squad, and pumped all his savings into the company since he was now paying more and had to readjust. He took a risk of it collapsing so his employees can be given a true level of security. If he were a normal human poverty wouldnt be crushing our country. Im glad CEOs like him are around Its also worth noting that its based in seattle where before rent the cost of living for a single person is around 1100k a month so while not the worst for a large city its not exactly Spokane.

Amazon, Disney, facebook, Google, etc could do this in a heartbeat and it would barely effect their bottom line and I'm guessing worker productivity would skyrocket not to mention the serious PR boost they'd get. It would massively stimulate local economies and make huge inroads into the massive levels of consumer debt in America.

These employees not only feel valued by their employer, but every aspect of their entire lives have improved for themselves & their families. Job security /decent wages remove the huge daily stress of perhaps needing to work 2 jobs to make ends meet, buy a dependable car, meets family needs, even go on vacation. And when your employer has this positive attitude, sees happy employees, production/results will prosper, etc, it's a win-win for all.

The issue with free market is that people with lots of money will make more and more money by keeping the wages low across-the-board. This wonderful dude is an exception and will not become a billionaire elite, because he's not greedy and drives happiness from creating happiness for others rather than material possessions and luxury. That's why we need regulations to help unions, encourage co-ops and regulate big businesses from becoming exploitative. Yeah, apparently all of the top performers started leaving the company because they didn't get a bump. But all of the low performers doubled their income without doing anything. Any idiot could have seen this coming. People who work hard like to see their contributions rewarded with higher pay than people who don't.
Also, they started getting fewer contracts because potential customers didn't see overpaying the bottom performers as a sound business strategy.

The lives this man changed. No one on earth, and I mean no one, could’ve foreseen the pandemic hitting the world. And now look up where they’re at now and how this Man and his employees saved sooo many of their own employees, as well as other businesses and their employees. No one is saying that you have to be as good and generous as this guy, but at least make sure your employees are making enough money, so they CAN LIVE, start families and own a home, love working for you and want to buy you a Tesla to show what an amazing person you are, and how much they feel he deserves it! All I hear when anyone talks about raising minimum wage (Conservative republicans and some centre-lefties) is how they will have to hike up prices for consumers to make ends meet, well no that's not true, because if you put more money in people's pockets, they will come and buy your stupid products, at the SAME price, (a lot more), dumb-asses! Of course you might not have as much money as you do now, but you're probably not a reprehensible person! The issue with free market is that people with lots of money will make more and more money by keeping the wages low across-the-board. This wonderful dude is an exception and will not become a billionaire elite, because he's not greedy and drives happiness from creating happiness for others rather than material possessions and luxury.
That's why we need regulations to help unions, encourage co-ops and regulate big businesses from becoming exploitative. Capitalism is appreciative of greed and profits with little regard for distruction of nature and exploitation of populations, so we need to set the rules of the game to prevent such outcomes.

Another thing people tend to forget or ignore is the more you pay an employee, the more they will likely work. Whether its meeting that monthly revenue sale, customer service percentage, cutting cost...etc. money usually brings out the best in people.
