I am going through such a trying time in my life right now and the insights you gave especially at the end about what destroyed the Lamanites will destroy us, impacted me so profoundly. Then to follow up with how Christ in his Mercy and long suffering as I do all I can gave me so much hope that I can change my course in life. Thanks for your insights.
You are almost done with the whole Book of Mormon series just as we are getting ready to dive back in. I've looked forward to your comments as you have been viewing the episodes.
I love in your presentation, Brothers, what you love. I can see and follow along reading and hearing the scriptures along with your exploration of them. Merry Christmas you good men.
I also want to be bold and make an amendment to Elder Scott's statement about abuse. When he says that if we are abused "against our will", it NEEDS to be noted that a lot of victims of abuse are groomed to feel that they are participating in the abuse - that they encourage it. It should be stated that even if you felt like you were a willing participant, chances are you were being manipulated, brainwashed or coerced into feeling such. Part of your recovery is coming to an understanding of your guiltlessness.
thank you for taking the time to do these episodes. i always am uplifted, inspired, and learn so much. thank you for helping us come closer to the Saviour.
Upon praying with all my heart, might, mind and strengthen... A friend had emailed me this link, a direct answer to pray. With grateful heart I give Thanks for answers to prayers 🙏😇🙏
Another thing to note - anger is a secondary emotion. It is always used to replace another emotion such as hurt, shame, sadness, etc. Often anger is chosen because we are more comfortable feeling it instead of the other. Perhaps we choose it because it makes us feel powerful whereas the emotion we are replacing makes us feel weak and vulnerable. Who are we to choose to be? The powerful or the humble?...
We might not rest in physical but I love listening to Sissel in 2019 Pioneer Concert as she sings Slow Down. Real intent in prayers, and so we have been told that being a good person is not enough we need to get baptised and keep all of His commandments. I guess being kind and compassionate are qualities many not in The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints have but in helping gather Israel with real intent, we are inviting others to come to a higher and holier way of living as there are teaching of Christ and His servants that can help us achieve that with an eternal perspective in mind and how lovely to know families can be sealed together forever if we but repent and change for the better, through His mercy, justice and truth along with the great and humble and magnificent Atonement of Jesus Christ Our Lord.
That was an amazing come fallow me. So informative, so much to change in myself. You 2 are super. Thank you and yours. Happy St. Nicolas day, he was a very cherish able Monk.
I have a quick question. Maybe I missed the answer in the past. Why do you color the sections of the scriptures in the way you do? Do certain colors reflect certain topics? Or is this a way to separate topics/thoughts/sections?
I got my answer while watching the next episode. The sections are colored and matched to the text in the margin that is turned vertically. It's harder to discern after printing (even on my color laser printer), but it jumped out at me while watching the video. Thanks for these lessons and the .pdf files. I mark them up (with my own underlining and notes from your videos and other Come, Follow Me presenters) and insert them into sleeves in a three-ring binder for reference. I've read the Book of Mormon many times, but this year my study has been deeper due, in part, to your lessons, .pdf files, and all of the other presenters that have taken time this year to post videos as they could not give lessons in person due to Covid. This is a hidden blessing I have received as a result of the pandemic.
I always learn a lot listening to scripture 💎. 🙏
