He is performing on stage with someone for example his assistant ( or maybe son because of the line "there for her son", it doesn't nees to be him) and he is playing the piano. The gentleman begins to sings as he performs he remembers his past memories of his first love,all the happy and tragic times with her. As he goes on he sings a bit more regretful and sad. When it begins with the lyrics "It's over isn't it?" he is tearing up a bit.(even the +1 person who plays the piano(!)) Then the audience begins to clap and the show ended. The backstory was actually cool cause maybe someone heard pearl sing when she was in empire city that episode, and then he’s singing it here, it fits with Steven universe in a way 😂👏🏻

I really like this, you have a good voice. Yes, anybody can beat the original song by pearl but, if the character where a men, this would be the version that I'll choose 😁
I think this is a pretty decent cover but the slow tempo really hurts it. If you don't believe me, set the playback speed to 1.25. It makes a world of difference.
