Until you realize that the Philippines was colonized by the US for half a century, the americans thought english at schools, and the Philippines had close ties with america. Sure the word "yes" isnt in the dictionary but Filipinos mix the tagalog language with the English language. At this point, most filipinos dont even understand some old deep words though its from their language.
