It's physically and emotionally rough when we have sick animals. I lost a 3 month old bottle calf. Broke my heart. Prayers.

Patera, I had a pet I had to rehab. We got him up in a sling and adjusted it to barely baring weight. Slowly lowered to more weight baring. You can make a sling with old blankets. Idk if it would work for you but it would be safer. ❤️hang in there Vinny.

Patara, it’s your call. You know what you’re doing honey. I just want to mention this to you. I listen to Mike Adams (The Health Ranger) he has a farm in TX & he sells amazing organic products. I just ordered today chlorine dioxide. You can give this to your animals. All of them even your chickens in their water. He’s had sick animals & have given them this & they have an amazing recovery. You may already know. Just thought if you don’t you may want to check it out. Prayers for Vinney he seems so sweet. Love & blessings to you all! 💕

We had a goat who got sick just before Easter. She was sluggish after giving birth, wouldn't drink or eat, was hollering and eventually couldn't get up at all. We prayed and prayed, gave her some supplements, electrolytes, water, analgesic, and prepared for the worst but kept praying for the best as she declined...and on Easter Sunday, we went into the barn to discover she was up and walking about like nothing happened! Keep faith and we'll pray for your goat babe, Patara!

I lost my 15 year old rat terrier Marcy in October. She was my walking buddy and exercise coach. We walked several miles every other day for 13 years and then she started having trouble walking. It got much worse last fall. Especially the last 3 months. She couldn’t walk or stand and could barely sit up.😢
I kept her on pee pads constantly and I watched over her 23/7. And then she got an abscessed tooth the last week. We knew she wouldn’t survive putting her under to pull the tooth. So we had to make the decision to let her go.
I helped her to the rainbow bridge on October 10 2023. I held her in my arms and was with like I promised her I’d be.😭 Anyone that has something negative about my decision to keep her alive. We’ll all I can say is they’ve never bonded with a dog. The whole thing tore my heart out. I will miss my Marcy for the rest of my life.😢

The end of a beloved pet is extremely sad. The grief cannot be avoided.
Could his inner ear be off? He reminds me of me and have to take meds for inner ear. He looks so good.

As I sit and watch, the tears are flowing. Reminds me of myself a few years back. Major stroke. Always fell trying to walk. They put me in a harness type thing to help control my movements and hung from ceiling. Praise God you are not giving up on that beautiful goat! God Bless you!!!

Polio in goats? Wow. It is always wonderful to watch all you farmers do so much for your animals. As a person that was raised on a dairy farm, the animals are the most important assets. It is demanding work, but you always go above and beyond to give and be the best for them. GREAT JOB!

Loving watching Vinnys progress. I know a few people who have farm animals and don't show them the love you do. Granted, they are younger and busier. That being said,why have animals if you cannot love on them? My hens are very loved and spoiled but I am retired and take the time to know their behaviors. They are very vocal and I think that is because I talk to them😊
Vinnie is the sweetest! I’m sure it will take a few days to get those leg muscles strengthened again but with you as his mama he’ll get there. God bless all you do for all the critters.

I thought one of my hens lost an eye in a hawk attack this weekend but after flushing it with saline I saw it was there, just injured. I kept her in the house for a few hours but put her back in the coop at night. I figured she would be much happier at home with her flock and the eye was swollen shut, nothing the others would be bound to fuss with. Long story short, she went from huddled in pain with a shut eye, barely picking at food and water, to coming out on her own with an open but 'black' eye (I assume pooled blood) to literally overnight having the eye return to normal. Saturday I thought the eye'd been removed, Monday I hoped she'd at least see shadows with that eye again someday, and Thursday morning you can't even tell anything happened at all. I kept checking to be sure I had the right bird! Just like a bad turn with an animal can come seemingly out of nowhere, so can a turnaround for the better. Hoping for such progress with your fellow.

Our cat had an episode very much like this, and we never knew for sure what caused it. He was down and wobbly for about 5 days, ut still good appetite. He recovered, and the only permanent damage is that his head tilts to one side.

We raise most all of our animal feed, and most all of our food.
But it’s taken us 38 years to get here ❤️ and I wouldn’t change a thing, except maybe the extra 10 lbs I’ve gained this winter Lol.
