    The difference of MJ's and Scottie's ft line dunks with others is that they dribbled the ball in, not just holding it and ran. The difficulty was totally different.

      I've noticed that even in game a lot of them are travelling before their dunks. I guess the habit gets carried over between dunk comps and games.
      Jordan has made numerous notes about making sure he dribbled the ball before them.

      And he could have taken off from a bit further away as he did not even have to stretch to finish. I always felt this was the best in game dunk of all time.

      Glide was the smoothest dunk technician and under the rim scorer! Btw, why was Ibaka number 1? Why Should a guy at 6 feet 11 inches be at number 1 for dunking from the free throw line when Zach LaVine at 6 feet 5 inches had basically already did it?

    There is a video of Dr J dunking from near the FT line in an actual game. The angle is behind the basket but his feet are clearly close to the FT line.

      It's about takeoff distance from the rim. Nique was primarily a two-foot leaper so he doesn't have as many long dunks.

    When Jordan first did it in 1987 at the All-Star game in Seattle dunk contest I think it was the first time anyone had done it since Dr. J in 1976. That blew me away.

    The thing is even the others whom were jumping from free through line… only MJ seems to have that ability to float in the air where the others just look like a long jump…. Maybe it’s because he gets the the height quicker and just stays there a little longer?
