This series has been so helpful and in-depth. I feel that most "how to get started on TPT" videos minimize the work that goes into it, and they're always incredibly vague on some of the important details. Thank you so much!

Your future is your responsibility. Nobody else can do it for you. You create your future when you work non-stop, when you take risks, when you struggle, when you put everything on the line. Yet you never stop, you never quit. That’s what puts you on your path to great success.

This was fantastic! I used to teach and now I'm a therapist and use TPT often for my kiddo clients. I always loved creating materials because I want to explain things a certain way, or break down certain concepts even further than what I can usually find online or tailor things to specific clients so this is greatly appreciated. I absolutely love Canva and already have a paid account so I am psyched!

Thank you so much for this video! I have two questions for you. #1- I have heard that one must be careful using Canva to create products for commercial use. How did you get around that? #2. Do you work on SEO when creating descriptions and titles? If so, will you have a video about SEO? Thanks so much. I love this series!

    • @PocketfulofPrimary
      @PocketfulofPrimary  2 года назад +4

Thank you so much for watching! 🖤 As for question 1, it isn't about "getting around it" because copyright is a legally binding form of protection. You just have to read the TOU and ensure you are following it. This part of Canva's website might be helpful for you: www.canva.com/help/licenses-copyright-legal-commercial-use/
As for question 2, I honestly have not spent a ton of time researching SEO so I'm not the best at it. It's something I hope to get better at in the future, but right now it just hasn't been a priority. However, I know there are tons of RUclips videos that cover it! Hopefully that helps!

I’m rewatching this for the third time 😂 and it’s so helpful!! I do have a question- in Canva Pro, I noticed some of the graphic elements have a designer’s name attached; do you need to give credit to each separate designer or credit to Canva Pro when you use them? For example, if I use 5 images from Canva Pro in a product, do I have to research terms of use for each one and credit each designer? I’m terrified of breaking copyright in some way!

This was really interesting. I would be so curious how many times a product like this sells on TPT….I’m not asking though, that would be rude. lol.
Do you mostly make products for your own classroom and then put them on TPT hoping to make a few bucks on the side or do you make products specifically for TPT with a goal of them having a noticeable impact on your income level?
I just got my first teaching job but have used TPT for years as a substitute teacher. I am very crafty and debating the money spent on products vs the time to create things myself. I am leaning towards purchasing products for now when I am just starting to ease my work load just a little bit.

Hi Meghan! In terms of a product selling, it's all about the need for the product and how well it is marketed. Personally, I searched for pre-made treat labels like this all the time while teaching in order to save time. As for the products I create, about 95% of them have been resources I personally created to use with my students and then posted to sell. Now that I'm not teaching in the classroom, I'm creating products that I've had on my list to create for a while but never had the time. Hopefully that makes sense!

I saw on a TikTok that you should also protect your preview or someone could download it and remove the word. Do you know if this is true? Thanks for showing us your process!

Hi there! Yes, that's definitely something you would want to do. I typically do protect my previews as well but I was a little rushed with recording this vlog so it's a step I skipped. But, I recommend protecting any and all PDFs including the product and preview!

I am having such a hard time with my thumbnails! They are so blurry. I know TpT does make them a little blurry, but mine seem much more blurry than they should be even using Canva pro. Yours look very crisp. What size do you use for thumbnails? Any suggestions?

      I have that same issue!

I personally use the IG image size which is 1080x1080 pixels. There is still a slight blur with the images (even though it may not appear that way on my vlogs). However, it has never seemed to be that big of an issue. It's one of those "it is what it is" situations.

@@PocketfulofPrimary thank you! This was a great video. It helped me to fix another problem I was having with a product I was making. This video came at a perfect time.

So are you able to upload using pro for Canva? I was watching a TikTok and they said no teacher pro account, only the free accounts if I pay for it could I use it?

I'm an art teacher and I am doing Google Slide presentations on different artists. Can I use their artwork in my google slides? or is that copyright infringement?
