Maybe the same thing can happen with the Phillies now that our best player is injured? Maybe? Definitely not, but we’ve suffered enough and we can at least dream.
As a Red Sox fan, it's nice to know that there wasn't a "June swoon" this year. For once, it was the other way around. I still don't know if their pitching staff can stay healthy enough to make a playoff run, and I do worry tremendously about their bullpen, but in an absolutely stacked AL East (and I was somebody who thought the Orioles would be better this year), you knew you'd be jockeying for position all season.
I’m just praying we find someone else to play 1st base. If we improve that position and add a decent bullpen arm we can make another run through the wildcard. We’ve seen enough Dalbec the last season and a half to know what he is.
Of course today, July 17th, 2022, Chris Sale went out of a game with a broken finger/hand on his throwing hand courtesy of a comebacker. You're f**ked Boston. And I couldn't be happier. If only the Yankees were in the same shape.

Yeah the Ravens never really rebuild. They just try to maintain a good-but-not-great squad to stay consistently competitive and hopefully catch fire during the postseason.
I am 23-years-old and a lifelong die-hard Mariners fan. I am waaaaay more optimistic about this team than in years past, mostly because of how well they take pitches close to the strike zone that would have been swung at and missed in years past. That being said, I’m practically the most optimistic in my friend group about this team. One of my friends’ mother works for the Mariners and he was convinced that during their slump during late-May and early June this team was done for, heck everybody seemed to be. However, I said at the time: they are going to slump for these next few weeks, then play about .500 ball until the All-Star break. After the All-Star break they will slowly get better and keep on the same pace as last season but make it this time. Basically they’ll get better as the year goes on. That same friend who was convinced this team was done for, especially when they were 10 games under .500, told me that if this Mariners team makes the playoffs, he’ll cover my entire bar tab for the next few times we go out. Needless to say, I took him up on that bet, and that was before the win streak.
Guardians are gonna be really good soon. They have the youngest roster in all of baseball (a roster so young that it's younger than many triple-A rosters), as well as the 3rd lowest payroll. The fact that they're still mediocre is impressive. They're very inconsistent, but that's expected with young teams. If they continue to develop right then they could be very dangerous in a couple years.
Only real issue is Bieber is a free agent in 2024. Will probably be traded for more prospects considering he isn't at 2020 form and probably commands José Ramírez money.
Couple thoughts: While I'm glad that the Twins are clinging onto 1st place, their bullpen is a huge concern. Mariners had a slow start but I'm glad they're getting hot now, please get a wild card spot will ya!
As a Mariners fan I do have my worries we might blow it but winning 13 straight like they are doing right now is not easy and normally isn’t a fluke. This team has a great mix of young and veteran talent and they are gelling right now. They have Hanny and Klew coming back after the break which should do nothing but make us better and give the opposing team more to worry about. If only Kelenic was living up to his potential as quickly as Jrod has this team would be even scarier and even more enjoyable to watch. You can’t but like this team. There just fun. Gooooooooooooo M’s
I listened from the off. Still can’t believe he has a job rn. He’s just bad. His game management, bad. His man management especially after Ned is absolutely infuriating. He’s the guy that’s supposed to instill confidence in the young team we have but he’s constantly been a doofus in terms of understanding how to get a young guy to settle in. That and his personnel decision have been baffling.
Thank you for echoing my opinions on my team quite aptly. I feel like the FO is pretending we're destroying like the Astros and Yankees when really every other team in the Central is just laying over and dying and we happen to be the last one standing. We should be buyers sure, but I feel like we should only get people that we can also use next year, when we'll hopefully have actually good pitching (between Maeda coming back and Duran developing). I feel like our FO is just going to dump everything into this year only for us to add 3 more games to our playoff loss record. In terms of actually competitive baseball, I'm also all up in that Mariners hope train.
2 games* (don't forget, there's a Wild Card round for everyone except the top seed now) And I agree, any trades we do should be for someone that has some term. One starter and two relievers should do it

Even if the O’s don’t make the playoffs this year. It’s been a successful season and a big step in the right direction in the rebuild. Next couple of seasons could be really fun for the Birds!
As rough as the Twins bullpen has been this year there is one saving grace: Jhoan Duran. Dude throws 100+ fastballs on the regular and consistently shuts down hitters. He's even being trusted with 2 inning saves now. Another arm at the deadline to lessen his load could do wonders for the team.
If the twins can get some low risk guys and like one or two great arms for the bullpen I feel they could be dangerous hopefully they don’t disappoint at the deadline
With a sweep of the Red Sox (including a record 28-5 whomping), the Blue Jays are 7-1 since firing their manager, and the Red Sox suffered the worst 3 game streak in league history. How quickly things can change.
Honestly, fair point on the Red Sox. That series sweep to the Rays this week was a microcosm of everything wrong with the team: horrible bullpen help, key pieces dealing with injuries, and only Devers or Story giving a damn about swinging at hittable pitches. Two bats working out of nine does not constitute a strong hitting core, Cora. Yes, Bogaerts, Cordero and Martinez are starting to shape up, but the rest of the batting order is supposed to be sculpted like Michaelangelo’s David and playing like my six year old cousin’s Play Dough blobs.
Judging by your All-Star break predictions in the AL, you better not light a fire under the Red Sox's seat. I believe my Mariners are going to find their oasis!
A lot of parity in the league this year….just need Manfred to make watching more accessible (END BLACKOUTS) and get the league a stronger lead over the MLB in ratings
I’m happy that my Astros are still good (as much as I know everyone wishes they weren’t). I just hope we can redeem ourselves and win a World Series cleanly
That 5-1 homestand for the Blue Jays pre-break was helpful, but they still need to tear ass with a Boston series and another big homestand to close out July.

I've been pissed off at the Mariners for years. I'd been calling them the 'Munglers' and saying that they'd been phoning it in for 25 years, generating just enough wins to put asses in the seats, but only paying one or two players the real money. And they completely wasted the careers of Ichiro, King Felix, and the unsung Kyle Seager. All that is very true. But last year an enormous **POP** was heard in Puget Sound and all of the sudden the Mariners management, coaching staff, and players all suddenly pulled their heads out of their asses **at the same time** ! Seriously, I think it broke windows down in Portland. From the ASG onward, the team played with drive, guts and... [dare I say it] balls. No not baseballs... daddy bags, cojones, jockstrap ammo. Only a mid-August slump of losing 5 in a row kept the team out of the playoffs... they missed the cut less than half a game. That trend has continued into this season, much to my surprise. As I write this the team has just taken two of three from the Fucking Yankees and are traveling to a home stand with Anaheim with a 1 game lead in the Wild Card hunt. The Astros are still our kryptonite, but we share that stat with the rest of the AL. So I have a lot more respect for the Mariners than I've had for the last 20 years. I said I'd quit calling the team 'Munglers' when they started trying, and by God that's just what they did. Time to go buy a jersey.
I know the Red Sox have gone on a bad streak but with their pitching now returning from injuries I think they can stay ahead of Toronto the way the blue jays have been playing
As a Tigers fan you were right with the exception of Riley Greene. Has only played like 25 games has 2 hr and got drafted out of high school in 2019. His power issue isn't worrisome, He can hit and has an amazing eye can draw walks and is a solid fielder.
I’m skipping straight to the Blue Jays section, as a fan of the team I am livid at their performance as of late, especially considering what Vlad said about this year being the movie. Hopefully they can turn things around. If not the continued failure and embarrassment of Torontos sports teams after the 2019 championship narrative shall live on.
PLEASE do another video on the Angels. I can't take this complete dung heap of a franchise anymore. We have come so close to getting no-hit this season (including last night against vintage Clayton Kershaw), but as long as that doesn't actually happen, I feel Arte Moreno won't allow anything to change. This team is apathetic, complacent, and underachieving. Do you know what hurts most about this season? We were actually good. We were there. We had it. We were winning games. Everyone on the roster was contributing. I got fooled big time. Now I don't even want to go to any of their games anymore. This team is eternally screwed.
Beginning of the season I was happy they were doing well I wanted this team to be a thorn in Houston’s side then when the losing streak happened I was like WTF are they doing I wanted to see them in the playoffs I honestly wanted an ALDS of the Angels and Toronto duking it out to face the Yankees or Astros in the ALCS all the Angels are good for is breaking their fans hearts it needs to stop
It would be so on cue if Tree previously proclaiming 'I hope you don't make it back here for the next 20 years!' to the Mariners lines up with them somehow creeping in as that expires. Who knows, maybe the Angels will allow Trout and Ohtani to get to the postseason one day - despite Moreno.
I knew this team was going to be good I would get nervous when the Yankees played them because I knew the lineup was great booster the bullpen and starting pitching then this team can hang or even beat the best of the best stay strong the future is bright in Baltimore I might be a Yankees fan but I love seeing Baltimore play also in a lot of those games the Yankees have played against Baltimore a lot of them have been won by 1 run and also getting Jackson Holliday just made the farm system even better this team is gonna be scary in a bit
Being an Angels fan is self-inflicted torture. What gets me is everyone wants to point out the brawl with Seattle, but the collapse started long before then, almost immediately after Detmers' No-Hitter against Tampa. The only sign of hope I have is that the Angels will do what they do best, win enough games against Seattle that the Mariners miss yet another playoff season.
Everyone's talking about 1998, but this year's Yankees reminds me of 1961 more: Their offense is actually a three-outcome pony: home runs, strikeouts, and a fair number of walks--yes, Judge and Stanton are Mantle and Maris, but Rizzo and Torres are the only other guys giving good support...there's a reason they're first in homers but 12th in doubles It's the pitching that's the real strength--every one on this staff (expect Chapman and Losaiga's combined 38 innings) has been brilliant, they've somehow kept Taillon and Severino healthy...I hope they collapse in the ALDS like the best Yankee teams of the last twenty years have, but I'm terrified they might actually get number 28...
I was born in 2001. That was the last time my beloved Mariners made the playoffs. Please, for the love of god, make the playoffs. I want to know what it’s like to be happy.
Funny if you speak to a Yankee fan right now, you’d think the team hadn’t won a single game yet. My biggest fear comes playoff time, especially with the series we’ve had with the Astors, who are most likely going to be our opponent in the ALCS if we get there. I’m gonna enjoy the ride and hope they finally get over the hump.
Yankees aren't that great this year. They were just given an Easy Spring Schedule. Regarding the Astros, Yankees are only 2-7 Against them. Astros will make short work of them. That is, if the Twins Luckily Eliminate them from the ALDS.
The Orioles are the real life 'Major League' Cleveland Indians. One of, if not the lowest payroll in baseball, made to be bad, and now they might relocate. I hope they pull the ultimate Major League and make the playoffs

All he had to do was wait a few years and test out free agency, but he signed that mega-deal that will keep him with the Angels till the end of his career.
The Orioles Did improve Considerably so then Last year so far. It's at least a Step in the right direction... You can do a Hell of a lot worse.
Of course today, July 17th, 2022, Chris Sale went out of a game with a broken finger/hand on his throwing hand courtesy of a comebacker. You're f**ked Boston. And I couldn't be happier. If only the Yankees were in the same shape.

That’s awesome 😂🔥🔥🔥
I’m honestly extremely proud of how my Orioles have done so far this year. Really hoping this is a sign of a bright future

Looking at KC, all Cardinals fans can say is “we tried to warn ya.”

Seattle scares me, if they get rolling and get people behind them and when haniger comes backs, watch out
Always love when Tree adds Sonic music to his videos ^^

Metropolis from Sonic 2 will now be stuck in my head for the next two days.

Putting Wrestlemania 2000 music over the Mariners brawl? GLORIOUS.

As an O's fan, there's at least hope. When you dropping the NL vid?
Everyone's talking about 1998, but this year's Yankees reminds me of 1961 more:
Their offense is actually a three-outcome pony: home runs, strikeouts, and a fair number of walks--yes, Judge and Stanton are Mantle and Maris, but Rizzo and Torres are the only other guys giving good support...there's a reason they're first in homers but 12th in doubles
It's the pitching that's the real strength--every one on this staff (expect Chapman and Losaiga's combined 38 innings) has been brilliant, they've somehow kept Taillon and Severino healthy...I hope they collapse in the ALDS like the best Yankee teams of the last twenty years have, but I'm terrified they might actually get number 28...
