- We are so proud of Yael, that she has finished her basic training and no preparing for her two year assignment in the IDF. You will notice that when each young lady is sworn in she is given a rifle and a Bible, at which she proclaims ANI NISHBAT. This means I PLEDGE ALLEGIANCE [to the Israeli Army]. For us it was a moving experience, not only to see our own daughter, but so many daughters of Zion being sworn in. Many of them are Sabras (native born Israelis) but many are also like Yael, who have come back from the nations to the Land of Israel. In this clip are young ladies from Ethiopia, Russia, Ukraine, Argentina, France and many other countries. Please take a moment and pray for their safety.
As an American raised Christian, I find this video a beautiful and moving experience. I understand your pride in having such a beautiful and brave daughter. I don't know you and your family, but let me take this moment from far away in the U.S. to send my love and support to you and your family.
I pray everyday that Hashem will always bless his nation Israel.

I think this is a very honorable and wonderful thing that Israel does, as it requires compulsory military service from every male and female citizen of the nation. As an American citizen and proud Veteran of the U.S. Marine Corps, myself, I am a firm believer in compulsory military service for ALL young American citizens, be they male or female. Learning to serve is important and ensures that every citizen shares equal responsibility in the existence and survival of the nation in which they live. It also teaches a young person that they have a responsibility to their fellow citizens and something larger than themselves. In my own experience, I can say that my military service (which I volunteered for, btw) taught me some very important life skills and also taught me self discipline. I also gained a LOT of self respect and confidence that I wouldn't have had, had I not served. I was trained and served in what is widely recognized as the "toughest" branch of the American military and, indeed, the world. I will never forget what I learned about myself during those years I served and I will be forever proud of what I accomplished, mainly, the title of United States Marine. A huge salute goes out to these courageous and heroic service members of the nation of Israel. My prayers and best wishes go out to you all for your safety. God bless.

Actually it is Ani nishba'at with a gutteral Ayin stuck in there before the feminine Suffix Tav. Male recruits would say Ani nishba.
The word nishba, to swear an oath, is unusual in Hebrew. It is amongst a handful of words where an active voice action, to swear, is inflected in the passive voice with the Nun present tense prefix. It is almost as if nishba should be translated as "being sworn in.". I am being sworn in.
