Agreed, the motorcycle stuff looks like it was filmed the newest Go Pro. Surprised RED isn’t putting a little more effort into these launch videos or at least having some more fun with them
Yeah, the quality of those motorcycle shots in particular did not look like anything you’d see within, say… a Mission Impossible-related vehicle chase scene (primarily shot on Sony Venice). Personally, and as an owner of a Monstro, Gemini, Amira, Alexa Plus 4:3, Sony F55, FX6 and FX3, I have a general idea of which each manufacturer comprises of. And I like using them all across different projects. I’ve been waiting for something that screams “take my money” with this particular camera. These shots aren’t it. When it comes to RED, I think they need to take a page out of Sony’s book, where they let an acclaimed director / DP shoot a short film (like 3-4 minutes long) to showcase the camera’s capabilities. They’ve done this upon the announcements / releases of the Venice 1, Venice 2 and Burano. These shots look like some film students got to toy around with it for a day, and tossed a montage video together.
Put this sensor on a FX3 size body so I can take it when I'm travelling for fun. Very happy with my current V-Raptor OG, but would love something in a smaller from RED that still have similar image quality.
This video did nothing for me, would have liked to see some better examples of the global shutter benefits. I'm excited for this camera, but this didn't amplify my excitement.
Ahem…. Just please give the early buyers of the vraptor the audio upgrade for free, the original audio preamps are a joke to begin with, let alone sell an upgrade for the og vraptor for that much money and talking about „upgraded and better audio ore amps“ are you kidding?
