Not only did this cause the team to lose George Fan, the original creator of the game, and Laura Shigihara who composed the music until then, but EA as the new publisher also decided how much work is put into the game and how it gets monetized.

Remember the times how Peashooter, Sunflower, Wall-nut, and Potato Mine are the starting plants you can play with before when Cabbage-pult was supposed to be in Ancient Egypt? It made more sense for the Cabbage-pult to be in Ancient Egypt because the three pult brothers were originally be obtained in the first three worlds of the game (Kernel-pult in Pirate Seas, and Melon-pult in Wild West).
