    Thank you! I thought I was going mad with how different the gtx felt! They felt much tougher on my knee.

    This has to be The Best, "Side by Side" comparison, I've ever seen. You took the descriptor, LITERALLY; love it.
    I'm currently using the Bondi 8's (AWESOME!). Was advised to check out the This model. The GTX option has me intrigued. I'm actually looking for all day walking/standing comfort, but a slightly lower/shorter heel stack and different colorways.
    I think the GTX model is the direction I'm leaning. My time in the Marine Corps, has taught me to APPRECIATE the Gortex functionality.
    Thank You for this Outstanding Review!

    Great review. With winter colder weather upon me, I might pick up a pair of these. I've definitely stepped in a puddle or two and the gortex would be welcome.

    I bought a NB 2002r GTX model as well as a regular NB 2002r without GTX. The one with GTX is also much stiffer. It confuses me greatly as I was told it is the exact same midsole. Interesting to see your video showing similarities to what I am also experiencing though the model and brands are different.

    • @RoadTrailRun

      The GTX uppers can contribute to making a shoe stiffer but here it is clear the underfoot is firmer, more stable, stiffer and more rocker based (in a good way for me)

    Morning, great review. I Wil be travelling to Florida, disney world for 2 weeks, forecast looks rainy. Will these be to hot in 80 degree weather? Not sure what other options I have

      I think they will too warm. I would go a regular shoe with a light breathable more open draining quick dry upper. Salomon Aero Volt comes to mind: www.roadtrailrun.com/2023/06/salomon-running-aero-volt-multi-tester.html

    Not sure if I missed it during the video. But is this true to size? Every GTX shoe that I’ve purchased in my normal size was too small. I think it’s time for me to start going a half size up. What do you think for this shoe?

    Just as the 8 was close to the worst...

    Sam...more enjoyable ride overall? Clifton 9 GTX or the New Balance 1080 v13? I'm currently going back and forth between the 2....with the cold Nebraska winter forthcoming, I'm thinking the added protection of the GoreTex might be a good way to go

    • @RoadTrailRun
      @RoadTrailRun  Год назад +1

      1080v13 is considerably softer and has a stretchy comfortable and not as secure upper. GTX will give you more winter protection that is for sure and also a more responsive and stable ride.

    Hi. I buy them in size 9 US , 27cm, my first Hoka.
    Butt comper with my Mizuno ( 9 US 27.5cm ) and Adidas ( 9 US 27 cm)
    Hoka are half-size smaller in the same size and in the middle feel tight probably because of gtx.
    I made a return and buy 9.5 (27.5) , what do you think? the half size is gonna be to much in length and in the same time the bigger size is not gonna change to much the middle tight?

    Sam, it looks like the GTX is a little more rounder and wider in the forefoot? Did you feel like you were sloppy in the forefoot? I wear the 10D in the clifton but it looks like the GTX would be wider.

    • @RoadTrailRun
      @RoadTrailRun  Год назад +1

      It is clearly wider but not sloppy as the mesh +GTX makes the mesh more rigid and supportive. Not a soft fit but a very good one front to back

    What happened to the color of the sole? Is it dirty, is it the paint coming off the sun, or maybe after washing with some detergent

    • @RoadTrailRun

      Less because of GTX but you won't regret GTX in winter and fine in more moderate temps as well

    will it be waterproof when the snow starts to melt ? And on heavy rain?

    • @RoadTrailRun
      @RoadTrailRun  Год назад +1

      It should be to a point.. without a gaiter water can come over or splash over the top. I generally like GTX more as it is warmer in cold conditions than for waterproofing,. Here the stiffer upper gives me a better if not quite as comfortable foot hold.

      @@RoadTrailRun ok; i understand, thank you; i am fast runner but wearing C9 for walking and want to buy C9gtx for winter! or to wait for Peg40 shield?

    • @RoadTrailRun

      @@markoljustina C9 GTX is a good choice as a daily trainer that is more stable than regular. Instead of Peg40 GTX also look for sure a Peg Trail 4 GTX. Very fine on road and better rubber grip than standard Nike.

    Need a stable shoe for warm weather conditions. Should be not too bouncy. The clifton gtx would be great i think, but is the gtx too warm? Any orher suggestions?

    • @RoadTrailRun
      @RoadTrailRun  5 месяцев назад

      It fits the bill but for summer months warm, other 3 seasons fine. Others to consider New Balance 860 v14 and Saucony Guide 17. Reviews here: www.roadtrailrun.com/p/blog-page.html

  • @slavasss2189
    @slavasss2189 Год назад +1

    Maybe you got false pair with production error? Here is only upper changed, same foam...how come you claim its different midsole? Should be identical...... question- how is fit? Gtx usually less room and more snug..strange u have diff feeling again 😮😅

    • @RoadTrailRun
      @RoadTrailRun  Год назад +3

      Absolutely clear on the midsole differences, flex and fit. Doubt it was a production error.
