- You probably found this video because you searched on How to Fix a Concrete Fountain. This was a Do It Yourself project I wanted to get done this Spring for my wife so that she could do the rest of the plantings in this area.
Last season we inherited this concrete three tiered concrete fountain and I know from experience that they can be a real pain. This season I was determined to solve the issue.

Great video. I’ve talked homeowners into going this route so they don’t have to constantly fill the fountain. I added a water supply and float.

Great idea! Another idea is to add a floater valve tied into your sprinkler system so you NEVER have to add water yourself!
That’s another idea, I just didn’t want to waste a lot of water…. It’s expensive here.
What did you do to the basin to allow it to hold the weight of the fountain itself? That is like one of the most important parts of this project.
Good question… the answer is, nothing. The AquaBasin is strong enough to support the weight of the fountain. It is molded with several supports inside.

Hi, it looks great! How did you make the hole in the base and bottom tier to run the tube from the new reservoir?
The base pedestal already had a hole in it to be able to run the piping through it

What type of water pump did you use to make that type of effect? How many GPH?
An Aquascape Ultra 800 gph pump.

Nice, but have a question,,,,,,,how do i slow down water flow from the tiopp of the fountain when the pump has no speeds, it is a 5 tier fountain aprox 5-5 1/2 tall
Most plumbing suppliers will carry an inline ball valve you can install for your size piping…

I don’t have the skills for all that, I’m just trying to seal the original basin from leaking. I tried some foam spray I was using for another project, but it’s still leaking. I guess the foam wasn’t the way to go. I’ll have to chip it all out and try something else.
You may want to look into a product called Pond Armor. It’s a two-part epoxy coating, if the surface is prepped properly it can last for a long time. Comes in many colors including clear.

Jayme, it was given to us by a client who wanted it removed. I believe it is a Masserelli fountain.
How do I feed tubing into my fountain. I have 1/2 inch tubing
I’ve never seen a fountain that didn’t have a hollow center that you couldn’t feed piping through…
The water should not go lower than the bottom basin. Pump speed is way to fast,,,then slow daon down and fine tune water falls with leveling each level,if needed,Vaseline on channels to make falls all even.food luck.this will reduce splash 95%.

I noticed that your top bowl has an uneven spill into the larger bowl.
Did you fix that?
If so, how'd you do it?
I have the same type of fountain and I have an uneven spill from the small bowl that is visually intolerable for me to live with 😄
I honestly don’t recall... 😂 probably just shimmed with a penny if it’s unlevel
yes i have the same problem with mine. i tried everything cant fix fill it eveery other day looses plenty of water.
Really would like to see how you did the tubing , is it one long piece tube ?or three pieces.

Sorry I didn’t explain everything. I used one long piece of 1/2” kink free piping.

I have no idea what to do from start to do finish.
You start with a preformed basin (link below)… add a pump inside the basin, then the feature on top….

Where to you connect the water flow?
From the pump inside the basin through the hole in the feature up to the top
How do yoh clean the pumk when it gets clogged up?
There is an access panel in the basin...
How many gallons is the aqua basin ..whats the cost
There are 45 gallons in the AquaBasin
Did you have to seal between the tiers? The flow on one I am installing doesn't seem to work very well. 140GPH enough?
No I didn’t seal between the levels. You can use some pipe dope at the top so it won’t drain back down the opening. I will typically use 400-800 gph and ball valve back if need be... depending on the look I’m going for

@@PutsPonds no I never got it fixed it sits in my yard now I just go out and pressure wash it once a year just to keep it looking nicd
Turn down the pressure just like the toilets they have a thing to squeeze the hose close to save water ☺️
Great idea, not always applicable when clients want to see a lot of water
I have a 3 tier fountain that I got from Lowes about 10 years ago. It has been discontinued. It was made in China. It is aluminum and iron, I believe. I called or emailed the company because the rod that has the screw on places that held each tier from the 2nd to the 3rd one moving up and the screw on cap was worn out. Right now I have a piece of slightly bendable black pvc pipe, 3/8" I think, that is in it with the top tier on it. I will just run it down the center holes and then it has to be sat on top of the little pump outlet. The problem is that it is so heavy sitting it, that almost the smallest movement on it can knock the tube off of the pump outlet. Do you know of what I can use to keep from having to have all of that weight on top of the pump? It has to sit on it for the water to go up the tube. I have stayed in the hardware store for hours, several different times trying to figure something out. Even had different people from the plumbing dept. trying to figure something out. We haven't come up with anything. I saw something on a pump adaptor/fitting set that said it is a diverter. I am wondering if I can run a pipe from the fountain to lay on the bottom of the fountain (inside) from the side of the pump with a diverter to help take off some of the weight on top of the pump. Any ideas or suggestions?
Can you have a couple plates welded up with spacer rods, the pump could be nestled between the plates?
I have a Alpine fountain from Walmart that leaks from the post any suggestions🤯

Oh god help. I ruin 3 tiered cement fountain by adding to strong of a peroxide cleaner. It stained/bleach it white in where water pours and just messed it up. Any suggestions in how to seal it to look the same again??? No latex though cement color? Non shiny? Help. I will pay you!
Perhaps talking with a local cement company but I would like to think that over time the area that was effected will turn back on its own…
I fill mine up every other day. Don't be a drama queen.
Sorry but I have better things to do than go around filling up a fountain, plus I like less maintenance

Thanks for your input... I basically stacked each piece of the fountain then ran the piping straight down to the basin I sunk in the ground to the pump... (I did mention that I forgot to film the set up, sorry you missed that)
The purpose of the video was to show how you can run your fountain longer by capturing all the water that splashes out...
