Sarah Geronimo’s English skills are actually very underrated. She’s actually a very decent speaker of the language. She has the typical skills perfect for hosting. But because of her “bubbly” and “pangmasa” branding, she pretends to have “Carabao English” with poor diction. She even adds a phony/funny accent to her English at times to make the people laugh (ex. her “Laida Magtalas” role and other segments in The Voice when she’s being playful with the coaches). Her English is obviously not Lea Salonga or Martin Nievera level, but when she’s being serious with it in certain serious occasions, you can hear her real decency in the said language, and you would notice that she can really speak decent formal English. What I love about Sarah’s English the most is the fact that she speaks the language with simplicity and formality. She does not add any unnatural western accent to it. It just sounds very natural & formal, and that simplicity is actually what made it even sound classier. As you can see and hear in this video, her diction & enunciation are really really good & clear while her fluency is also very decent. Her vocabulary, on the other hand, is very wide and deep. You can easily tell that she's a real BOOKWORM (Sarah loves reading books A LOT). She CAN definitely speak and communicate using the language. Due to her very humble personality and her humble beginnings, many people still underestimate and stereotype both her English skills and her “class” in general without knowing the fact that she has already become more and more formal throughout her 2 decades in the industry. Just because she is not “maarte” and “pasosyal” does not mean she’s still “jologs” and “baduy”. She’s just so simple that she doesn’t care about how people view her class, but she definitely has developed a lot of class and formality in the past 20 years. What many people also do not know is that she is a UST alumni (EHS Scholar) and also went to UP (Associate in Arts degree) for college. She studied dancing and singing in Los Angeles, California back in 2011. She is now a CHEF after she finished her course in Heny Sison Culinary School. She is a CEO of her own production company, an entrepreneur of her own make-up company, and an owner of a high-end Italian restaurant with her husband. She’s been touring around the world for almost 2 decades. She’s married to an English speaking husband with an English speaking family. With all these factors, it really should no longer be a surprise to everyone that Sarah really knows the English language well by now, and that she’s developed so much class as well. She’s also actually a BILLIONAIRE now, and even her TAGALOG is very classy and very wholesome too. Her Tagalog never really sounded "bakya" and inappropriate anyway. She has definitely matured into a simple, modest, soft-spoken, and classy lady. She's a lot classier than the image she was being branded with and definitely far from being “baduy” and “jologs” now. I'm sure she’s even classier than the casual people who constantly degrade and stereotype her class. Just because she is genuinely humble & simple, does not mean she can be belittled and stereotyped in all aspects of her life. The Sarah Geronimo that exists today is just a very CLASSY and CULTURED lady. Be careful who you belittle.

I love how Sarah uses the English language naturally without the need to put on a foreign accent just to sound “native”. She’s owning the language, in a sense, by speaking it with Filipino accent, which sounds neutral and educated. While speaking it this way, she sounds more authentic and not trying too hard to “belong” to a certain community of native English speakers.
With Sarah? I never doubt that she could speak English with fluency and with good diction. Why in the world people have to wonder about that??? She’s just a very humble person. Just listen when she sings English songs. Duh people stop scrutinizing her. People live your own life and leave her A L O N E!!!! ALONE.. Love❤💕🥰 Sarah.

Maybe it's because I'm a native English Speaker and recent Tagalog learner (I'm Filipino-American 1st generation) but the times I hear her speak English I could tell her English probably runs deep because you can tell when she speaks there isn't a "translation time". For example, when I speak Tagalog you can almost see my gears turning in my head as I try to find my words. But for her you do not see that. But English or Tagalog, the way she speaks is just soooooooooo beautiful. She is truly such an example.
I actually have no idea how Sharon speaks the language, but I tried watching some of her old videos and saw the one with David Benoit. I kinda get what you mean. Although Sarah's English has just improved and is still improving, she has similar diction and intonation with Sharon's. Sarah's current English also reminds me of Pops Fernandez'. It's the classic soft-spoken Manileña english in the 80's-90's. Sarah has that 80s-90s Manila English not the modern Manila Conyo English.
She's eloquent and able to convey her ideas and thoughts very well. I will give her an 'A' for showing maturity as well as authenticity about her feelings through English being the second language in the Philippines.
I believe she can really speak in English because there's no way she can study in UST without being proficient in the said language. We do speak in English as our medium of instruction when in class. I do respect her as a fellow Thomasian.
She just uses the English language whenever needed coz she's not "pasikat" or "sosyalera" type of woman. As much as possible she just wanted to be a simple human as she can be without any "arte" lol.
same thoughts here. she just doesn't want to portray a "socialite" image and she doesn't even care at all to the point that she's willing to make her English a subject of comedy. that's what I love about sarah. you can tell that she's genuinely humble and that her humility is not just a front. she's not afraid to be misjudged and misunderstood by the people. she doesn't even care about the titles being given to her nor does she care about their judgments at all. she's authentically humble yet classy at the same time.
as long as understandable and clear yung english nya no need naman na sobrang accent mas ok pakinggan yung natural lang na english nya...love you Sarah
SARAH G IS NOT ONLY WITH A BEAUTIFUL SINGING VOICE,, BUT SHE HAS HER OWN UNIQUE STYLE, SHE CAN EASILY SING FROM HIGH NOTES TO LOW NOTES, SHE IS BEAUTIFUL EVEN WITHOUT MAKE UPS, SHE HAS A HUMBLE PERSONALITY, SHE HAS A CHARACTER THAT I CAN SELDOM FIND WITH SUPERSTARS, SHE IS STILL THE SAME SARAH G UNTIL NOW, GRATEFUL, RESPECTFUL, HUMBLE AND MOST OF ALL LOVING AND CARING A ROLE MODEL....THE ONE AND ONLY💓
In my opinion even if we are not perfect in English language does not mean we are of less wit because in the end we should always honor of out mother language called tagalog.

Sarah is very articulate with her spoken English. She may not be as perfect as Leah is with her English, but she is not bad herself. It's just that some people are just too mean and very language abusive. But, may i please ask if these people who are bashing her do speak better or have a Master's degree of the English language. Or do they even speak impeccable English?
because English was Leah's mother tounge that's why she can speak it fluently , Sarah can speak English articulately if needed to, maybe she just thought it is not necessary to speak English every time she is on tv.
Sayang hindi nainclude ung audio recording of her interview with a radio station sa Dubai. Grabe doon ako na amaze sa kanya sa English speaking skills nya.
I have observed that people having a unique set of teeth are great singers. Using braces can affect singing style especially so that it is hooked inside your mouth for a very long period.
I've noticed that in 6:19 she was struggling to speak with her braces, but overall I like the way she enunciates. She has a very nice and clear diction that is not typical to many Filipinos especially to most Asians.
What’s with the English language anyway? Something that I really don’t understand with the mindset of other people. Sarah is a smart, simple, and a humble person. What’s not to love about her ❤
God knows your past, present and your future, anchor your life only to JESUS CHRIST . . . He will never leave you nor forsake you and He loves you unconditionally.
Hindi Kasi cya mayabang na tao. Yung ibang pinoy akala mo Kung sino makapag English Kasi nga magaling sila, mayabang pa sila. Pero pag dating sa MATHEMATICS kolelat naman halos mapasukan na Ng langaw ang bunganga nila 😂😂😂 Proud parin ako maging carabao speaker Kasi Filipino ako at Hindi ako from ENGLISH COUNTRY. Filipino should bow their own language than 2nd language only. I speak Tagalog if Tagalog ang kausap ko, Hindi naman ako tanga or bobo na mag salita na Hindi naman naiintindihan Ng mga Filipino ang salita ko 😑😑😑 cympre I will speak Tagalog that I'm very sure na maiintindihan nila ako.
Medyo kailangan siguro pag usapan kasi nagigiging sikat pa siya ngayon worldwide and sikat siya for her Filipino songs amongst the Pilipinos.Walang lang. info na rin para sa iba to say the least
We, Filipinos understand and can speak in english, because it is our second language. It's just that majority of us do not use it in regular basis, especially most of us. I have observed that people having a unique set of teeth are great singers. Using braces can affect singing style especially so that it is hooked inside your mouth for a very long period.
Love you Sarah😍. Hope to see you perform with #alexailacad😍
Nice to meet you all, my 1st time visit
Ganun na ba ang kahalaga na mas marunong tayo sa english kaysa sa sarili nating wika ?
She stayed her younger years in the U.S SO EVEN FOR A MONTH YOU SHOULD KNOW HOW TO SPEAK ENGLISH WELL
there’s a lot of ppl here in US who lived for years and still cannot speak english well.

Of course she improve a lot!
Bakit sino ba dyan ang nagsasabing hindi magaling mag.English?
lagi siya binabash sa english niya kasi di siya pasikat kahit marunong naman din talaga siya. napakanatural lang ng tunog. walang halong arte
In short, hindi sya matigas mag english. Kaya nya ipronounce properly yung magkasunod na consonant like TH.
Why is this even a question? She can speak well in English. She doesn't have to prove anything. She's one of the best here in Pinas.
She is eloquent.
Love her pronunciation wlang arte
bright naman si sarah at marunong mag English
Wow! She sounds like a foreigner when she sings an English song.
