I'm from Philippines, so technically we're not really aware of Bollywood movies BUT when I had the chance to watch 3 idiots my gosh!!!! not only moved, it did change my philosophy in life. All is well!! I LOVE Aamir Khan sooo much!!! Gosh I adore him to the point that I could marry him!!!
Yeah, right !!! Watch Aishwarya Rai speaking on David Letterman show with a fake accent to sound American -_- (Or i don't know if she really has that accent !!)
Being a South-Asian Canadian .. my heart just swells up with pride for both Aamir and George when watching this video. It seems like they both had genuinely a good time during this interview.. which of course is the norm for this show. So delighted! Keep up the good work George + CBC!
Aamir is genuinely so sweet and humble unlike other actors (self proclaimed kings) who just fake to be good...he got no superstar tantrums....this guy is so down to earth and real...love you aamir as an actor, filmmaker, producer, host, socialist and more than anything a good human being!!!
Amir Khan! You are so articulate and well spoken! I didn't think I could like you more than I do after this interview! Best of luck to you in your future endeavours! I love Enid Blyton too!
I can see some guys are burning like hell in the comment section when the host declared Aamir as the undisputed king of b'town! 😜😜😜Aamir is Aamir! 👍👍👍👍
Despite being a Canadian-Desi, I've never been into Bollywood. No doubt, I've seen sm good movies over the years (2-3 really), but I've generally never really liked our movies, and especially the music. I've grown up listening to hard rock/heavy metal, so I cant stand Indian music at all. But I've always respected Amir Khan. I think he's great, and definitely a symbol of desi pride! As a cricket-fanatic myself, absolutely loved the way he described cricket. That was excellent. An awesome guy!
You are right, Gaurav. I used to think that Hindi is the National Language. There's no national language in India: Gujarat High Court. See TOI, Jan 25, 2010
If you are from India and a movie buff...you know that Amir is very genuine in this interview.. the host could easily hav been some indian tv anchor... Amir is still the same. Amazing talent. This section isn't enough to say what we love about him. "It doesn't taste as good"...😆😆😆😆final punch
I'm Indo-Canadian as well and I thought this was a great interview:) Aamir is a smart man, and it makes me so happy with what he was saying about forgiveness as well. I've had people tell me that India is filled with backwards people, and I hope this proves that India is filled with diversity and diverse minds. Yes it has a lot of issues, but people don't see the other side of things.:)
Bamboozled, you are right. I was just stating the fact. I have no personal enmity with Hindi. I speak Hindi almost with a native level fluency! But personally, I believe that Bollywood has done a better job or promoting Hindi as language than the National Language propaganda!
I don't know about the new stuff too much, but most of my favourite Indian films are from the 90's growing up...to name a few at random - Khal Nayak, Baazigar, Khiladi, Mr. India, Dilwale Dulhania Le Jayenge, Dil Se, Gupt, Rangeela...if you haven't seen all of those films multiple times, get to it pronto!

Love aamir khan probably the best actor in india. But fyi he's not considered the king of bollywood - that's srk. Loved the interview, he was really relaxed and himself.
@EarthWormJim2008 Same. I love hard rock and metal as well. lol people think just because I'm brown(and a girl) all I listen to is punjabi music and rap. Though....I won't lie I sorta do like bollywood movies:P
@adi2777 Dude, I know there R fans of rock/metal in India...of course there wud B. My point was that it's specifically bollywood music that I cant stand. As for sufi poetry, I def. know that it's inspirational for some great sub-continental music. I've already heard the song "bulla ki jana" by Rabi Shergill. I'm not into that stuff though, but I certainly have respect for it. It's just the typical ballads in our movies, the lovey dovey stuff, that I cant stand at all.
thanks :) ... i have another question... according to hindi language "Stan" means place..and "hindu" is a large community..and together they make "Hindustan" that means a place of Hindu's..and early indian civilizations used sanskrit as language which later on reformed into mordern hindi...thats all wat i know !
@shrotcake Ur a desi girl who's into rock/metal, and ur in Canada!?! Yo we gotta hook up :P Just kidding :) I didnt mean to give an impression that there's anything wrong with BW movies; I'm just not into them that's all. I've come across some good ones over the years, like Munna Bhai (1, not 2), Dil chahta hai, and Three idiots...yeah, that's pretty much the entire list. If I saw any good classics back in the day, they're eluding my mind right now.
Was it just me or did anyone else think that there was a slight tiff between them after Aamir cuts him off at 11:55? I felt that George was kinda annoyed that Aamir recognizes him NOW. He would expect that Aamir knows whose show he is going on. He badly imitates a bollywood dance move as kind of a response. Kinda weird. Fuck, great video though. So stoned right now.
From 15th to 19 th century India was ruled by Mughals. They defined the term - Hindustan because they were Muslims, and they came to place and pillaged, and ultimately ended up ruling a place that was predominantly Hindu. Glad to know, you are interested in learning about our cultures. :)

Amir Khan seems like a very genuine and honest person. He is a thinker. I love his style, sense of humour and simplicity.
This is why Aamir Khan is not only my favourite actor in Indian cinema, but my favourite personality in Indian pop culture.
Love his sense of humor n love the fact that he didnt fake his accent. Huge respect for u sir

How humble and down to earth. He was actively trying to make sure he doesn't offend him. ❤️

Cute ☺️, sharp , friendly , incredible handsome !👌🏻💎

Very humble and kind person unlike the other Khan who is egomaniacal and self important.

I will not come in any trap now
Slumdog millionaire was a good film but in my opinion it was quite overrated. Although I am a Pakistani, I think I know what Amir is talking about.
Amir did not fake his accent
