Looks like a quality product, Kevin. The manuverability provided by the aluminum, the ventilation and heat panels are definitely upgrades. Thanks for the review.
I had one of those dreams last night, where I kept putting up the snakes in this reptile room and I kept finding them out wandering around. Rinse and repeat that all night. I don't even keep snakes!! But man was I chasing after baby retics like no bodies business. These racks look awesome maybe if I had these in my dream the darn things would have stayed put!!
Ha! I had the same dream just about once a week for years. In it, there was a loose cobra in our bed. I actually would leap out of the bed - still asleep, mind you, and yell "There's a snake in our bed!" To which my wife, who is ascared of snakes, (even though I had about 50) would fall out of bed screaming as I threw back the covers and searched for the cobra/mamba/fer-de-lance/krait/sea snake that was there just a moment ago. Generally this was when I woke up, a bit fuzzy, to a furious, scared shitless wife. Needless to say, the couch and I became nighttime buddies quite frequently. I never did find that gosh-darned snake and it's a shame. It was always a nice one!
I love reptile basics and VE. great stuff I have a few myself. That rack will be nice when the baby boas come when they come if they come in the coming years. thanks Kevin!
I bought aluminum racks like that maybe 10 - 15 years ago. I believe they were Vision Racks and the seller was Scott Selstadt, if memory serves me correcting. Same design, same ventilated plastic lids, etc. I'd post a photo here but it won't let me. I sold my Freedom Breeders to buy them. I do agree they were definately an upgrade for me.
Like the new rack system ya got. If we choose to get back into breeding when we buy the new house I will be looking them up to get the racks and get it set up before I start going to shows to collect my array of animals. I know I do want as a pet only a black monitor for sure so long tanto read up and learn from and gotta get on your site to do some research to keep it socialized!!! ❤❤❤❤❤ To you Kevin!!!!
seriously nice rack you got there Kevin, Grade A for sure! xD but for real I dig it, I started years ago building my own melamine rack and then moved to pvc but once I learned to work with aluminum I never looked back. Super lightweight, never rusts, I use a mesh above that breaths insanely well for good circulation but I never thought of a simple plastic, would do wonders for humidity retention if needed. +1 love the videos
Thanks for the class Mr. Kevin! Very cool setup! There’s another system that is very similar that is also made stateside by another breeder. I’ll be happy to share the info if you’re interested.
Me wondering where the rack comes from. Kevin: "And you can get this rack from Reptile Basics." Me: "WHAT!?" I had to pause the video and go look. I've been waiting for them to get something to compete with ARS and Freedom Breeder. Now if only they would start making clear tubs! $2000 + tax is pretty expensive but far better than ARS when it comes to up front cost and shipping. The size and price sit fairly well between 4x Super70s plus 20 tubs and 4x VE-6e PVC racks plus 24 tubs. I can't wait to see what else they'll make since they do seem to be planning more models. Clear Polycarbonate bins please!!
Hi Kevin! I really like these racks. They look very clean and the snakes seem to be healthy and calm (im not an expert, im just comparing to others I've seen. Who knows lol) I read you have 26 employees so I can't imagine any get neglected or have a gross tub for long. I saw a cool thing on Green Room Pythons that he would put in random snake safe trash for stimulation. To us it's garbage but to them it's something to investigate, and you can change it out whenever. I don't know if that's useful for you, just an idea for cheap enrichment if you're interested in that sort of thing. I hope you're doing well! Thank you for the bubble gum video ❤ I watch them all.
Please please please develop a tub with a corner water bowl feature that utilizes the Square deli cups!! This way the snakes don’t knock em out or crawl over them as often
I just bought baby-juvie racks from RBI. They’re great there! When my animals are adults, I really want to have tubs with windows because they’re in my office and I want to make them look nice. Lol
Beautiful Rack Kevin. I know I’m gonna get crapped on by asking this but what about somebody that can’t afford $2000 for a 20 tub rack? I’ve been using sea serpent and animal plastics and yeah they were great sometimes keeping the heat all the same can be difficult if you don’t have the proper thermostats as most keepers I’m sure now, but it’s achievable. Any advice for someone that can’t afford to spend five grand on a couple racks? Thank you, Kevin.
Wow! I just now looked at their site for this. They only got the one model, but they say more models are to come. Will these replace the older VE racks that they've been selling for years?
I love the aluminum rack system! Problem is I only weigh 80 pounds. I am not strong enough to lift it. Wish it could be bought in sections, perhaps someday, that may happen. I would buy it in a heartbeat. I hope the rack catches on, I think it is fantastic!
I wonder what the snakes living in those little bins think about the rack system? Not trying to be controversial, because I think Kevin is amazingly knowledgeable and a great RUclipsr, AND breeding snakes is his business, but how can any animal lover keep their animals in such a sterile, boring environment? Not to mention keeping snakes in containers where they cannot move amount or stretch out, especially really large snakes.
Nice Rack! Jokes aside and slightly unrelated, is there any future where the price for Boelen’s pythons comes down? I’ve loved them since I was a kid and theyre so incredible everytime you show them. I assume the high price is because they’re hard to breed?
@@NewEnglandReptile If you wanted to do some bubblegum about them, I wouldn’t stop you :P There’s so little info out there other than your older videos and that blog Serpents In The Clouds or something I forget.
I don’t see many cheap racks that are “great”. This rack seems to be cost effective for what it is but everything is expensive nowadays. My overhead is a killer. K
Same canadian that comments on all yer vids to help you out. I dont like racks but beautiful animals brother. Like I told ya in the past I have tried to get ahold of you but yer staff is rude and off putting for what Im trying to do. Though I guess keep on putting out great content. The last bubble gum was a 10 out of 5 lol. I watched it five times and seen my snarfles photo bombing. lmao. I hope to get to talk to you even in a dm one day. Keep up the great work brother. My staff, one of 26 and they are dealing with tons of calls and try to filter out people that keep Trying to Sell me pens! What are you trying to tell me? I’ll come back and read the comment. Thank you. K
If someone doesn't call back after two or at the very most three times, it means they're not interested in talking with that person whether business or personel. To continue to call and call is creepy and stalker-ish. I would block someone who did this on phones and computers.
Thanks for getting back Kev! I started working here in Canada at a place called the reptile ranch when I was 14. 48 now, so with the help of Rick Truant I have alot of experience, though he is no Kev. I Have decided to put my rooms and set ups to good use for people that can no longer care for their animals but more important for animals that are born (special) that cant be sold or bread. These are the animals that I think The wife an I can help with compassion and be able to let them live out their lives just like a (pretty) non defective animal. I was sent a lil Blue tongue skink last year and besides the fact he has a horrible back defect he is happy comes to his name etc. This our calling. Just like your love for snarfles. An island of misfit toys if you will. Maybe rehome some to people I vet. What do you think of this idea? Can you help in any way? I know you cant afford to feed these types of animals. Please get back.Your friend Doug @@NewEnglandReptile

FINALLY great aluminum racks! Just what the industry has been needing. Thank you so much for making these available to the US!

That bright yellow animal is gorgeous!
(edit: he does mention it yeah Red Tail Green Ratsnakes albino) I think that's an albino Gonyosoma Oxycephalum but I may be off

Looks great! Any preference on that inkbird 206 vs the bigger grey 308s? Thanks!
Ink bird all day but the new ones have a bit more programming. These are cheaper than the pro reptile thermostats but work! K
Please please please develop a tub with a corner water bowl feature that utilizes the Square deli cups!! This way the snakes don’t knock em out or crawl over them as often
Id love to see some deep arboreal tub style ones. Like at least 10-12inch deep/tall.

Rich is a good guy. Very sound.
Beautiful yellow snake
I think so too! K
Question what size ball pythons do you think you could keep in that rack Kevin?
Can I ask where you get the paper for the racks? Also will you be at Tinley in Oct? Thanks I am a hobby breeder and fan of your work.
I buy from a paper recycler and newspaper company. Uline does sell some nice paper too!

You can even build racks but it’s a ton of effort. Reptile basics and Animal Plastics have some great options for less needed numbers.
Wow! I just now looked at their site for this. They only got the one model, but they say more models are to come. Will these replace the older VE racks that they've been selling for years?
No idea but I’d say unlikely. Supply is challenging. K
Very nice. Clean light quiet. Beautiful for storage bins too

What species/morph is that pure black snake (timestamp 1:30)? Thanks in advanced.
Black gonyosoma rat snake.
Hi! Does anyone have some tips for iguana socialisation?
Greetings from Austria
Some of those snakes seem too big for those enclosures
Update on Sylvester?
Prolly a stupid question can i cohab tortoises?
how is silverster doing?
I don't have snakes 😢 and am not a snake breeder, so I don't need a rack like that. As a crafter, I want the cutting wheel!
Haaa haaaaaa
This rack looks like it could hold adult ball pythons? I'm thinking about pulling the trigger.
which it was easy to get one to Canada, snake rack here are expensive and small.
Not much better here I’d say!

How is Kevin and Silvester and the white snake

what breeds of snakes are those ?
Gonyosoma, Boiga, Boelens etc.

The better we can breed in captivity. Females need age to breed too. In time!

Is there enough variation in temperature for the snake to be cooler if it desires . There doesn't look to be too much airflow space in the rack.
