This is and will forever be the best summer of my life! It's hard seeing that this is already 6 years old. Now I'm married and have a 2yr old daughter. Oh how time flies. The memories and emotions from this performance and that summer will live with me for as long as I live. And for all the Genesis peeps who come back to watch this video and see this comment, I love you. This was truly a special year. We went through hell and back that summer. From the never ending mornings of oatmeal to the dog days during swamp tour, to the dreaded 5 mile long runs with spencer that never seemed to end, and last but not least....Breathing tube runs.
I saw them perform when they came to Alabama and I cried from how powerful their performance was. It took my breath away and moved me. I love this band!!😍😍
It was heartbreaking when I didn’t make Genesis. Even though I did make OC and beat them score wise. This is just such a phenomenal way to debut as world class. Definitely a show I wish I would have marched.
+SFgiants9 hey friend, I got cut from genesis my first year. My second year auditioning for drum corps I got contracted for the mandarins for the 2017 season. Unfortunately I couldn't march due to financial reAsons but I still got to march. Believe it or not I got to march my rookie year with genesis. (This show) don't let year dreams be dreams. Lol & I'm proud you made OC. That's such a huge accomplishment too!
For a group I consider to be my "home town corps" - they will need to "get with the times" to be successful in competition. What's with the anachronistic uniforms? They need to be wearing one-piece Spandex "unitards." What's with the brass playing right at the beginning of their program? They need to go through two and a half minutes of ballet calisthenics, first. What do they think this is - "drum and bugle corps?" Don't they realize that DCI is now "ballet with band instruments and electronics?" :-)

Not band...a whole different league
I’m guessing you never marched!! Or least you would know the difference!!
Peter Grun What Corp/Band did you march for?
They have a good show design team, a rarity in lower-tier corps.
Thank you for uploading this!!! I have been trying to watch Genesis performance but could never find a video on it!!!! Thank you
Playing drum set for this show was quite amazing!
i love you!

When a drum corps does the same song as your band did the year before 😫
