Hello.. Thank you very much for the video.... If i may ask you about the weather's temperature during the process... And the best temperature for the manual breeding
The koi is anaesthetized, it is fine, and will be bred again this year...they have been doing this for years. The older Father has been breeding koi this way for more than 30 years, so I think he knows what he is doing!
@@mudassirmm6110 it’s just a medication they add to the water in the prep tank that the fish is in. Can be done with clove oil but most use a special medication made for this purpose that is safer and more effective than clove oil.

A female's is a bit more puffed out and has pink a males looks like a hole Another way to figure out is by gently squeezing and either sperm or eggs will come out
Wow I never knew Koi could be that big, this video was very interesting. I was concerned about the fish being out of water for so long, I didn't know how it could breathe, but they were fine as shown at the end of your video.
This is a very educational video, thanks for posting it. I somehow ended up here following links about "Hanako" the 226 year old Koi; that's not really possible is it? Anyway, you had commented below that, "Usually in one breeding there is from 200,000 to 800,000 eggs in one batch...of those very few will make it to be sold..." What happens to the billions of fish that don't make it to be sold? Or do I really not want to know?
You cannot compare Sakai Fish Farm (SFF) and Kanno Koi Farm. They are on completely different scales. SFF has 30 staff...Kanno is a father and son operation. However I have to disagree about the professional comment...both are equally professional in their handling of the koi, and the koi was not damaged at all in this breeding. Why do you think they are not as professional? Have you seen a SFF manual spawning, and Kanno spawning in the flesh to compare? Have you even been to either farm?
This koi didn't die...and the tissues were not stuck to her ass.... This koi is actually very expensive, and an important koi forthe farm to breed with every year, so they treat her with the utmost of respect and care...
Like I have said before...this fish was fine, and at no point in danger. Don't forget this koi costs several ten's of thousands and dollars/euros, (millions of yen) to buy for this farm...so they don't want to use it once and kill it in the process...which is why they are so very careful with her...
EUK007...the kloi can only last without water as it is aenesthetised...in this state, it can be out of the water for around 5 mins or so without any problem...
More caution is required in pre cleaning of the fish. Such as using the cloth to clean his hand and after touch with the came cloth the female organ. a way to transmit infections. The same happened, after cleaning other parts of fish, the cloth is again wiped on the female organ, a very bad system.
Its calld a Sanke or to give it it's full variety name a Taisho Sankshoku...it was bred originally by Yamamatsu Koi Farm "Matsunosuke" or Nagaoka City, Niigata Prefecture, Japan.
Fiquei fascinada pela sua técnica. Parabéns! Nunca imaginei que fosse assim a criação dessas verdadeiras jóias vivas. DEUS o abençoe pelo amor e dedicação em família.
8-03-2020.Do you freez the Male Koi sperm to use on select fish, and do you know if any body has froozen eggs and tried to referty then the next yaer.We here in Germany save the DNA of the males and eggs of the females, just like the scandinavian fish breeds do.like your fish but l beleave a real DNA breeding program would do away with with the 80% loss of undesired fish types.Thanck you.
No...For koi, which are classed as Oviparous, meaning they fertilize their eggs outside of the body... the female has an ovipositor, and the male has a urogenital aperture...
The reason for cleaning the koi is to remove regular water from the koi. If water touches the eggs or the sperm before they have fertilized, the egg and sperm will become useless. So the breeder wants to remove all possibility of water/mucus touching the eggs and sperm before the fertilization takes place...
what can i say.. just seen a vid of a japanese man tossing koi fry around "grading" them and really rough. even the best was tossed back into the pools from a good 2ft plus height! you can keep them if thats what you do. im buying british ones for my new pond. .
tracy fun then you're not getting genuine Japanese koi. Often imitated, never duplicated. Why don't you look into how the livestock is treated. The ones you eat. Moron. What can I say. UK women are the worst
Fish sex. That's why the sailors should have never been lured onto the rocks by the Sirens. Because it's an external sex. How do these fish naturally "do it"? Female lays the eggs, and then the male goes and jizes on them...and then they both start eating their young. That's actually the abridged story. Really, the male, knows she's carrying eggs, and tries to ram her and knock her around until some eggs pop out that he can go jiz on them. Sometimes the "men" jump out of the pond and die trying to ram a female.
Fascinating to watch the whole process. Glad to know they did not die after manual mating. Thanks for posting.
It's adorable that he's talking to the fish while doing it. He really loves koi.

Awesome, Thank You for the lesson. I have a female that got hurt in the last breading, this way I can learn a new method. Thanks again.
Great video, thanks for sharing.... have always wanted to go and see the farms.

I want to see the 2nd part how they grow or something like that nice work
Hi
Friends
Yes we watched the whole thing...it took around 4 hours from start to finish...
That's pretty fascinating, it's such a big operation. Is there a specific anaesthesia course for fish? They seem really professional

Generally a heavily sedated koi shouldn't be out of water for more than 10 mins...that is a good guide...

sorry for the ignorance,but..the koi fish is a giant goldfish???
do you have any videos of kio fry that are 2 weeks old
Isn't the koi gonna die?? I mean all fishes dies when it is out of the water in a few minutes or times

what is the name of the medicine which anesthesize the fish..tnxs
Is there a reason why they are doing this at night?
The female only lays eggs for a short time. They monitor "her" for the time. Usually at the beginning of the summer season.
Its calld a Sanke or to give it it's full variety name a Taisho Sankshoku...it was bred originally by Yamamatsu Koi Farm "Matsunosuke" or Nagaoka City, Niigata Prefecture, Japan.
Did anyone actually watch the whole thing because all of you are asking things that were answeredin the video
The things people do for money....I am pretty sure the fish don't suffer too much, they are worth a lot.
After taking out the eggs, what will happen to mama fish?

How does the koi breathe
wow thank you for the information
The act of drying the skin of the koi doesn't kill it. They are removing the mucus of the koi...
What is the amount of aprem for some amount of eggs. Can you give me the scale please

Great. Awesome. Informative. Very useful. Thanks.
I thought removing protecting slime layer kills the fish
Excellent
At 4:46 it says gentley but that looks like an earthquake to me
How did I get here
the simple answer is ur hungry for knowledge and want to learn something new. so you clicked out of curiosity
What i want to know is how to tell the males and females apart i really wanted to breed my own koi but i am 100% clueless
so how can u tell a male frm a female ?
spawning it...don't worry the koi is completely fine...if you have koi, it is very likely they were spawned this way....
How am I here?
How did I get here as well?
Is That safe for her?
I don't know
Super work
93 cm is not big for a Nishikigoi...I have seen them as large as 130 cm for Karashi...and a little bigger for some giant Magoi before...
Why this is done at night?
so it is safer for the koi when they done it that way. BTW I think it is very early in the morning, not at night.
ini di bius dulu gak ya...
why to clean them up like this?
doesnt this weaken the koi s immune system?
Can koi hold there breth that long??

Koi's life span can be up to 40 years.
The older it gets the larger it is.

Isn´t it dangerous for the Koi to remove the slime on his skin? I thought it is dangerous, because of the bacteria....
This is where honey mustard comes from
thanks for the video...

not unless you take all the slime off I would think and they are a beauty to watch swimming
Never knew koi fish were so large
Thank you for sharing....
None of the koi in this video died...
how can it breath
Yes this is "play dead"...the koi is only knocked out...
sucks to be a fish can't even do it with the female life's not worth living

It is more effective. you can fertilize more eggs, not just most of them on the surface as usual :D (And you don´t need an extra water tank ;D)
