I agree, I simply don't fit these things because all of my clients DO NOT want one. I have had one to fit today and found ; both HIVE and Worcester to be very unhelpful or limited. This video helped.
Great Video. Easy to follow I found that the 30i already comes with 2 white links connected Hot Water & Heating just remove the Heating link for the Hive connection.
Great video, really helped me fit a new Hive in place of an awkward set up fitted by the installers. The link wire to the hw was the key bit as the installers had set it up to have hw controlled by the timer!! Thanks so much.
What wire is the grey wire. I understand that it is link. Blue is neutral, brown is live, green/yellow is earth. What is grey? Or can any wire be used as a grey? Thanks
Thank you mate. Great video. Not sure why you need a qualified gas engineer though. He’ll probably take your weeks wages off you. Isn’t it a very simple job for an electrician, not a gas engineer?
Yes if you follow what is said in the video you need to power 230 volts to LR for water (LR MEANS Live Return). So put a link between live in the white block to LR with the tap sign in the yellow block
Again, really helped on the wiring aspect - no other video explains simply - many thanks

Just wanted to say thank you so much for this video. Enabled me to wire up my new Hive without any issues. Nice one.
You saved me money on calling out someone to come and do this! TOP VIDEO!
I'm glad you benefited from this video

Great info, think the fire alarm felt left out…
This has been done as the same but still having problems with getting the heat operated will I have to remove the existing thermostat control
If you install a wireless thermostat then you would have to get rid of uour old stat
How do you get rid of your old stat on this boiler please
What size cable do you need to use
You can use 0.75mm - 1.5mm 3core flex cable don't use bigger the 1.5mm
Buy a metre of 3amp cable from Wilkinson’s for 80p.
What if the hive is wireless
Do u have to have a link from live to water.. because it doesn't have a link in the diagram on Worcester website

@@khuramakram Im also wondering this if its required (live to water). I have seen other guides that doesnt use it. So is confusing.
If you don't give it power from live to water the the boiler won't gey no signal indicating it to fire up do it needs power to power it.
