  • In the hot summer of 1944, a US submarine torpedoed a Japanese civilian vessel bound for mainland Japan from Okinawa, the site of imminent battle. Aboard were over 800 children, most of whom sunk along with the ship.
We had the honor to speak to one of the last few remaining survivors of this tragedy, documenting his extraordinary experiences first-hand.
    Who are we?
We're just an international group of high school students extremely fascinated and curious about what the place we live in offers beyond tourism and tropical vibes, as is a popular belief.
In search of the wonders of Okinawa, from its rich history as an independent kingdom and the site of one of WWII's deadliest battles to being a melting pot of American, Japanese, and its distinct Okinawan cultures alongside its entanglement in competitive modern geopolitics, we hope to be of help to anyone interested.
