For my build I used the isdt 70 esc, I highly recommend them as they are fully programmable and have drag break. For the motor a 45 turn surpass hobby ( stock motor not good for crawling). I would also heavily suggest building the transmission with the low gear ratio instead of the high gear ratio as you have the option of both in the kit. Also ball bearings are a mandatory upgrade for me on all Tamiya vehicles. If you're interested I did a build slideshow on my channel. There is a few fiddly things but overall it's a good build. Oh and the stock tires are total garbage.
Had my first real trail drive with my cc02 swb Blackfoot today. Yes, I built the cc02 defender but put my old BF body on it. Installed a hw1080 with Brood 35t. Low gear. Some JunFac parts. Jaz links. Yeah skid plates. Added about 200g of weight on front and 100 on rear. Also 120g in each wheel. PitBull beast XORs with RC4WD 1.55s. It drives like a dream…
@@terrywatts674 oh man that sounds like an awesome build oh, that's a good idea with the heavier shock oil I need to do that, I think you're the only other person besides me that knows about brood Motors, LOL great choice
@@SteadfastRC LOL! no, I meant I added stick-on weights to the chassis. I've kept the shock oil the same red kit oil, though I did switch out the left side springs for the "stiff" springs from a #50520 set to counteract torque-twist...
Very cool, I'm going to have to pick up a cc02 but I'm still not quite done with the cc01 and scx10 yet. I have a German Rottweiler, he comes with me when I go trailing lol
I think you would love it, I have the cc01 and an original scx10 as well. The cc02 is a more capable rig than the cc01, I still like the cc01 though. Good to see Im not the only one trailing with dogs!

And thank you so much, I really appreciate it
Really cool first run awesome you had the whole family out log crossing pure skills and you know I get down to some pan flute music nice lunch tent

Great run dude
Thank you PEZ!
I'm building my Defender 90 this weekend. Looking forward to it. Did you do any mods to your Mog???
Are you building the cc01 or cc02? I didn't know you could get the cc02 with a Defender body?
