Thanks! Saved me a lot of trouble, I had no idea how to remove the pads from a pair of Chinese Mixcder E7 and was about to do something drastic. The ''gently pull'' approach is much better.

To push the new earpads in, I used the plectrum of my guitar. Was quick enough and you can apply pressure perfectly like this.
