Doddy you rock! Cheers from my bike cave in Mexico (Valle de Bravo) ... actually one that you liked a lot a couple of years ago. Eventually it transformed from my personal bike cave into our showroom for Antidote Bikes Distributor in Mexico. To be honest, your vids have been the greatest inspiration... Thanks!
Doddy nailed it! Absolutely top shelf production. Well done! Seeing the history build up to this newest model was interesting. I believe I had an earlier Boxxer on my 2003 Azonic Gravity but it may have been Marzocchi Shiver, but cannot find any old pics to know. Memory has faded a bit.
Nothing to do with Brexit we've always got ripped off on everything in the UK. Huge difference between US price v UK price especially when you factor in exchange rate.
Great video, Doddy, as always! Little remark though: DLC actually means Diamond Like Carbon, due to the diamond-like molecular structure of the carbon coating.
I still have my original Boxxer that I got hand delivered from Rock Shox to our bike shop back when they were still in Santa Cruz.We were the first non pros to get them, before you could get one retail. A Massive six inches of travel! And Judy DH and DHO before that.
Great content, thank you! I have one of these in size 27.5 and I want to switch to 29. I couldn’t find any official info, but from my research, you can absolutely do this because the lower legs between 27.5 and 29 are exactly the same, apart from the 27.5 having the axle part a bit higher up the leg to accomodate for the smaller wheel size. Anyone has any info on this?
Just goes to show the price's of things back when the tripple Judy XLC were a thing i bought them new for sure around £250 or £350 was 2001/2 long time ago but loved them they were amazing at the time! Graphite grey and a brozeish upper tube i just looked a set up i remember them being alot bigger at the time compared to looking at these but they were awesome id love to try these new Boxxers but at 2k i won't
Im guessing that you have also new Vivid on that bike. As far as I know Rockshox is the only manufacturer that has sag marking on their shocks and forks and that shock has those. It also has no graphics on it. I hope we get some kind of review of that shock in the future.
#doddy and Anna. A question as old as mountain biking itself. Mixed wheel width for better grip. Is it better to run wider tires in the front. Say 2.6F / 2.4R? Or is it just confirmation bias?
why the hell are there no coil forks anymore? they say coil shocks in the rear are for more traction, and that does not apply to the front of the bike? you need more or equal traction front to rear.
Somehow I get triggered to hear "the first/oldest/etc" especially when there are specific conditions apply. But hey, Boxxer is at least older than Marzocchi Bomber. However there is a catch though, as always with ultimative statements: Judy predates Boxxer, but had gaps in production, SID got available for public together with Boxxer and still in production too...
@@henryhartkor5580 you could get it tuned and it will be around the same price and be a lot better. Fox and rock shock are just trying to milk you for your money. Saying they made the forks better and all they did was put in a rubber o ring
Pffft, try living over here on the other side of the globe. My Local bike shop has these for $3673.00NZD. You guy's have no idea what expensive means...
@@WorkLessRideMore you can get Ohlins forks for a R1 motorcycle thst goes nearly 200mph for $2600 brand new. Bicycle part prices are outrageous for what you get.
An r1 would do the same top speed without any forks at all. Completely irrelevant. Forks on a road race bike have a much easier life and are only 120mm ish
This is the detailed video I was waiting for about the new Boxxer. Thanks so much Doddy. I can´t wait to get the new Vivid video from you guys!

Awesome content! 🔥 Doddy is my favourite GMBN presenter!
Most professional by miles.
He is leaving
Sweet fork. Strange Alvin and the Chipmunks song during Neil's ride.
Gotta love getting shafted on price in the UK.
That's just mountain biking in general 🤣
Taken back control. Made our own laws. Immigrants out. Something something etc etc.
You voted for it, now you pay the price.

Loving Doddy’s tech videos with a bit of history👌
$3673.00NZD, I'm running out of limbs to sell😂

always enjoy the enthusiasm Doddy that's how I know it's great tech
damn, the video production quality 🔥

looks so beautiful ,i have boxxer 2021 its also awesome
I remember just like if it was yesterday when this thing was launched.
The thing is I was jealous 😂
This fork makes me wanna build up a dh frame
Neil is a weapon on those weapons 😍 might have to build a DH 😅😂

The decals reminds me of the old boxxer before 2010

This fork is so sexy, i will put it on my trail bike. 😊

NO had one on my CF Demo8 When I Bought It and Ya 35mm forks dont CUT IT Sorry did one ride Swapped For a 2017 Mar 380 TI 😎 Proper DH Fork 😁
Wooo Wwweee !! That is a beauty, give me !
Awesome video. Spoilt by music over the top of the bike going downhill. Wanted to any noise from the front forks.
Hey can you turn the bleeder ports how do you use them as fox ones are push button how do these ones work ????
Open bath still feels better than any cartridge system
I agree, my 2021 lyrik feels really smooth off the top
GCN needs to do a poll... I'd be willing to bet the vast majority of people don't refer to a single fork as a "pair" 😉
Damn that intense M1 brings back memories
I honestly thought the C-generation crowns looked great. The stanchion markings is a great feature, though.
It's really nice but I'm still waiting for a modern Marzocchi Super Monster

13:53 that would almost make me sad, the sound of the suspension feels like a part of MTBing to me now

oh actually he said production fork later on
What’s going on with the ‘ultimate’ sticker on the non-drive side, surely that’s upside down!
If you can ride a Zeeb at 190 mm of travel that’s about a pound and a half lighter, what’s the real advantage ?
it will break earlier than Boxxer and you might also be denied warranty, also you can't fit Zeb into straight 1,1/8" headtube.
pinkbike has very in deep review of this schock
How come there so heavy. I'll stick to a proper dh fork. Manitou
the dorado is still the best fork of all the dh forks around, by far!

Nice and affordable
Id convert to coils

Why did they get Neil to ride it? Was he ever a DH racer? ;)
Yes,he was 👍
A very good one I might add
I thought he did enduro
